Abstract

This research aims to describe digitalization, work skills, job satisfaction and employee performance and improve employee performance through the digitalization process and skills in shipping companies. The number of samples in this study was 165 people. The causal relationship between variables will be tested using the SEM analysis model. This research found that the digitalization of shipping companies' departure information and ship arrival notifications creates ease of work, which impacts employee performance in terms of quality and quantity achieved by employees. Work skills for implementing digitalization, such as inaportnet ship services, especially in terms of communication, improve the quality and quantity of employee performance. Thus, increasing employee performance has been influenced by digitalization and skills. Several theoretical and practical implications, as well as implications for further research, this research can contribute to improving employee performance. For policymakers, it becomes input in formulating information and communication technology policies to improve performance in shipping companies. As a suggestion for further research, further research is required to examine the issue of improving employee performance through digitalization and general work skills on cruise ships.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of workplace spirituality and teacher professional competence on job satisfaction among senior high school teachers in Malang City, Indonesia. In human behavior theory, the research examines how intrinsic values, professional motivation, and relational harmony within the school setting contribute to a teacher's satisfaction. Utilizing a quantitative associative causal approach, the study surveyed 176 respondents using validated instruments and analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The findings reveal that workplace spirituality characterized by meaningful work, sense of community, and value alignment significantly impacts job satisfaction, primarily through the sense of togetherness among teachers. Likewise, teacher professional competence, comprising motives, self-concept, knowledge, and skills, also positively affects job satisfaction, with knowledge as the most dominant contributor. Moreover, the study highlights the mediating role of organizational commitment in strengthening the relationship between workplace factors and job satisfaction. The results emphasize that enhancing workplace spirituality and professional competence can foster a more satisfying and supportive school environment. This research offers theoretical contributions to educational psychology and organizational behavior and provides practical implications for school leaders and policymakers seeking to improve teacher well-being and performance.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of emotional intelligence and managerial competencies in enhancing project manager performance, with job attitude as a mediating variable, within construction companies under the Indonesian National Construction Implementation Association in East Java. Using a quantitative approach and surveying 182 project managers, the study assesses key constructs such as emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management), managerial competencies (motives, traits, self-concept, and knowledge), job attitudes (commitment, satisfaction, involvement), and project performance (quality, quantity, timeliness, and cooperation). The findings reveal that emotional intelligence significantly affects project manager performance, particularly through improved self-awareness and social relationship skills. However, managerial competencies alone do not substantially influence performance unless supported by positive job attitudes. The study confirms that job attitude is a critical bridge linking emotional intelligence to improved performance outcomes. These findings underscore the importance of soft skills development in construction project environments and offer practical insights for enhancing leadership training, team dynamics, and project success rates. The study provides strategic recommendations for organizational growth and workforce management within Indonesia’s construction sector.
