Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project-Based Learning) dalam meningkatkan kreativitas mahasiswa pada pemanfaatan mikroorganisme untuk pangan dan lingkungan. Rendahnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengaitkan konsep mikroorganisme dengan penerapan praktis pada bidang industri pangan dan pengelolaan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest-posttest dengan satu kelompok. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar berjumlah 10 butir soal berbobot 10 poin untuk setiap jawaban benar. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Mikrobiologi Industri. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 29 mahasiswa. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan skor n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pre-test mahasiswa sebesar 54,82 dengan standar deviasi 12,13, sedangkan nilai rata-rata post-test meningkat signifikan menjadi 80,17 dengan standar deviasi 8,28. Analisis N-gain diperoleh skor 0,63 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa PjBL mampu memberikan dampak positif terhadap hasil belajar sekaligus mendorong munculnya ide-ide kreatif mahasiswa, seperti pemanfaatan mikroorganisme dalam produk fermentasi, biokonversi limbah organik, serta bioremediasi lingkungan.

Abstract

Gerak parabola merupakan konsep dasar fisika pada gerak dua dimensi. Secara teoritis, sudut lemparan 45° menghasilkan jarak tempuh horizontal maksimum dalam kondisi ideal. Namun, penelitian yang memverifikasi hubungan tersebut secara kuantitatif menggunakan simulasi PhET sebagai media eksperimen virtual masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh variasi sudut lemparan terhadap jarak tempuh pada gerak parabola menggunakan simulasi Projectile Motion PhET tanpa hambatan udara. Variabel tetap meliputi kecepatan awal 10 m/s, massa 1 kg, gravitasi 9,8 m/s², dan ketinggian awal 0 m, dengan sudut lemparan 30°, 45°, dan 60°. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sudut lemparan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jarak tempuh, di mana sudut 45° menghasilkan jarak maksimum rata-rata 10,1 meter, diikuti 30° dan 60°. Temuan ini mendukung teori yang menyatakan bahwa sudut 45° merupakan sudut optimum untuk menghasilkan jarak terjauh dalam kondisi ideal.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of STEM-integrated PBL learning tools based on local wisdom (Gendang Melayu) on students' critical thinking skills and compare the improvement in critical thinking abilities between classes that implemented these tools and those that did not. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design among 11th-grade students at SMA Adhyaksa I Jambi. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills through the implementation of integrated STEM PBL learning devices based on local wisdom (Gendang Melayu) on sound wave material at SMA Adhyaksa I Jambi in the experimental class with a sig value (2 tailed) of 0.000 on critical thinking skills questions. Furthermore, there was a significant difference in the increase in students' critical thinking skills between classes that received the implementation of integrated STEM PBL learning devices based on local wisdom (Gendang Melayu) and classes that did not, with a Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.001 on critical thinking skills questions.This research offers a unique contribution by merging PBL and STEM with the cultural heritage of Gendang Melayu Jambi in physics learning, strengthening the link between scientific knowledge and local culture.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the specific heat values of three types of metals, namely aluminum, brass, and copper, using the calorimeter method based on Black's Principle. The experiment was carried out by heating the metals to a certain temperature and then transferring them into a calorimeter containing water. The equilibrium temperature was recorded to calculate the heat absorbed by the water and the heat released by the metals. The results showed that the average specific heat values obtained were 0.42 cal/g℃ for aluminum, 0.16 cal/g℃ for brass, and 0.13 cal/g℃ for copper. These results are consistent with the theoretical values, although there are deviations caused by heat loss to the environment and limitations of the measuring instrument. Critical analysis identified that the use of an analog thermometer and suboptimal calorimeter insulation were the main factors of inaccuracy. As a recommendation, the use of a digital temperature sensor and the addition of thermal insulation can improve measurement accuracy. This study concluded that the calorimeter method can be used to determine the specific heat of metals with a sufficient level of confidence, provided that interfering factors can be minimized.

Abstract

Abstract: The design of this sound resonance lab tool was made to compare the speed of sound propagation in the air in two types of pipes, namely small and large diameter pipes. The working principle of the tool is based on the resonance phenomenon that appears when the pipe is dipped in water, then the length of the air column that produces harmonic tones is sought using a frequency generator application at 1250, 1500, and 1750 Hz. The simple and easy-to-use tool design helps expedite the experimental process. From the results of the experiment on a small pipe, for frequencies of 1250, 1500, and 1750 Hz, the length of the air column was obtained as 13.603 cm, 11.33 cm, and 9.73 cm, respectively, with sound speeds of around 340, 340, and 340.5 m/s. In the large pipe, the results were almost the same: air column lengths of 13.6 cm, 11.34 cm, and 9.73 cm with sound speeds of 340, 340, and 340.5 m/s, respectively. From all these measurements, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the small and large pipes. The pattern of the relationship between frequency and air column length also remains the same, namely, the higher the frequency, the shorter the length of the resonating air column. Meanwhile, the speed of sound in air remains in a constant range, namely between 340 and 340.5 m/s.

Abstract

Literasi digital telah menjadi kompetensi mendasar dalam pembelajaran abad 21, tetapi praktik asesmen masih cenderung mengukur keterampilan teknis tanpa mempertimbangkan dimensi efikasi diri siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pengembangan asesmen literasi digital pada pembelajaran IPA yang dapat meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa. Studi pendahuluan ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap empat guru IPA di Provinsi Jambi dan observasi pembelajaran. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga temuan utama: (1) infrastruktur teknologi cukup memadai namun terdapat kesenjangan kompetensi digital antar guru; (2) siswa memiliki keterampilan teknis yang baik tetapi lemah dalam literasi informasi kritis; dan (3) praktik asesmen efikasi diri belum dilakukan secara sistematis. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya dilakukan pengembangan instrumen asesmen yang mengintegrasikan tujuh aspek literasi digital dengan tiga dimensi efikasi diri (magnitude, generality, strength). Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada kerangka konseptual integrasi literasi digital dan efikasi diri serta memberikan rekomendasi praktis untuk pengembangan profesional guru, penyediaan infrastruktur memadai, dan kebijakan kurikulum yang mendukung pengembangan kedua kompetensi tersebut dalam pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

This study aims to explore physics education students' perceptions of integrating Arduino and Internet of Things (IoT) technology in developing STEMLAB-based enrichment media. The research method used an exploratory qualitative approach with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) stages 1–3 conducted over 12 months. The research subjects were 30 students from the Physics Education Study Program at Jambi University in semesters 4. Research instruments included open questionnaires, semi-structured interview guides, and thematic analysis rubrics validated with an average validity of 87.3%. Results showed that 84% of students believed real-time data visualization could enhance concept understanding, 91% agreed technology integration makes learning more engaging, and 81% were interested in learning Arduino in physics experiment contexts. A prototype media based on Arduino Uno R3 and NodeMCU ESP8266 with TDS, EC, pH, and temperature sensors was developed and tested on 8 students with expert validation reaching 88.5% and user satisfaction rate of 87.5%. This research produced a validated media design responsive to student needs and ready for wider implementation.
