Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is an ability that needs to be mastered by students. However, in fact the ability of students' mathematical problem solving is relatively low. This is caused by one of them using inappropriate learning media. Therefore we need learning media that can help students to practice their mathematical problem solving abilities. The media in question is digital comics based on realistic mathematics education (RME). So the purpose of this study was to look at the effect of digital comics based on realistic mathematics education (RME) on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method using The Pretest-Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group design. The results of statistical analysis obtained Sig. (2-tailed) in the output equal variances not assumed 0.000, where the value of Sig. (2-tailed) obtained is less than 0.05 or it can be said that 0.000 <0.05. So, based on the decision-making results of the analysis of this hypothesis test, it can be concluded that if "Significant level <0.05, then is rejected". It can be concluded that is accepted or it can be said that from the results of this analysis it can be concluded that there is an effect of digital comics based on realistic mathematics education (RME) on students' mathematical problem solving abilities

Abstract

A common problem in mathematics education in Indonesia is the low interest in mathematics because students learning mathematics is learning to memorize formulas which they then formulate to solve problems. For elementary school students, this learning will be very boring and do not interact at all because they are far from those who still like to play. This paper will discuss the planting of math concepts for low-grade elementary schools through traditional games, according to local wisdom-based mathematics learning so that mathematics lessons are no longer a scourge for elementary students but become fun mathematics because children can learn mathematics from their games. Many studies have found that game strategies are effective in motivating children to learn mathematics and at the same time making the learning stop. The focus of this paper is on examples of traditional games that can support the learning process of mathematics and the role of the teacher in facilitating mathematics learning that isn’t directly integrated into the game.

Abstract

Abstract. Mathematical modeling is the process of mathematizing real-life problems into mathematical language. Modeling assessment is conducted to evaluate student learning outcomes at the end of the learning process and to gather information on students’ abilities, guiding teaching strategies. The lack of teacher competence in preparing mathematical modeling assessments and students' struggles in mathematical modeling result from a lack of experience in connecting mathematical concepts with real-life problems. This service activity aims to provide training for mathematics teachers in developing assessments based on mathematical modeling to enhance students' AKM. It also aims to understand the response of MGMP mathematics teachers to the training and to obtain high-quality learning tools based on mathematical modeling. The model for implementing this activity is a mentoring model designed to enhance teacher professionalism in preparing teaching and learning activities, particularly in creating digitally assisted learning tools. A total of 22 participants from Ogan Komering Ilir Regency took part in this activity, conducted synchronously and asynchronously. The analysis of the satisfaction response questionnaire revealed positive results in terms of relevance, material attractiveness, practicality, program design, feedback, and recommendations. Abstrak. Pemodelan matematika merupakan proses matematisasi dari permasalahan kehidupan nyata menjadi bahasa matematika.
