Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menelaah peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran problem posing ditinjau berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) siswa. Data KAM pada tulisan ini adalah nilai ulangan harian siswa pada pokok bahasan sebelumnya yang kemudian dikelompokkan menjadi kategori Tinggi, Sedang, dan Rendah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi Uji Normalitas, Uji Homogenitas, Uji t, Uji t’, Uji Mann Whitney, serta Uji Anova Satu Jalur dan Uji Kruskal Wallis. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen 0,48 sedangkan rata-rata NGain kelas kontrol 0,18. Selanjutnya rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen kelompok KAM tinggi 0,56; kelompok KAM sedang 0,45; kelompok KAM rendah 0,49. Sedangkan rata-rata N-Gain kelas kontrol kelompok KAM tinggi 0,11; kelompok KAM sedang 0,21; kelompok KAM rendah 0,13. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa apabila ditinjau secara keseluruhan, peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika melalui model pembelajaran problem posing lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika secara konvensional. Selanjutnya apabila ditinjau berdasarkan kategori KAM tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis baik itu pada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika melalui model pembelajaran problem posing maupun pada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika secara konvensional. Akan tetapi pada kategori KAM tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika melalui model pembelajaran problem posing lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika secara konvensional.

Abstract

The 21st century demands educational approaches that align with technological advancements and societal needs. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integrates multiple disciplines to foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration in solving real-world problems. This study aims to explore ninth-grade students' perceptions of STEAM-based mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 13 Palembang. A mixed-method approach was employed, involving 94 students aged 13–15 years through questionnaires and unstructured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using Likert scale scoring, while qualitative data were assessed descriptively. Results indicate that students generally understand the concept of STEAM but lack clarity regarding its learning models, benefits, and assessment techniques. Most students (70.68%) perceived STEAM-based mathematics learning positively, finding it engaging, beneficial for understanding and retaining concepts, and motivating for further learning. Additionally, integrating technology and arts in mathematics increased student interest and participation. The study concludes that STEAM-based learning can enhance the effectiveness of mathematics education by creating a more interactive and meaningful experience for students. This approach equips students with essential 21st-century skills, making it a relevant strategy for future educational practices. Further studies are recommended to assess its long-term impact on student achievement and engagement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan tes literasi matematika untuk mengukur penalaran dan representasi matematis siswa pada materi SPLDV yang valid dan memiliki karakteristik yang baik. Penelitian ini mengadopsi prosedur pengembangan R&D, yakni pengumpulan informasi, pengembangan produk, dan uji coba & revisi awal. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi. Analisis data menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, melalui validasi ahli, instrumen tes yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan untuk mengukur penalaran dan representasi matematis siswa dan butir soal terkategori valid, reliabel, tingkat kesukaran sedang dan tinggi, serta daya pembedanya baik. This study aims to produce a mathematical literacy test to measure students' mathematical reasoning and representation on system of linear equations in two variables (SLETV) material that is valid and has good characteristics. This research adopts R&D development procedures, namely information gathering, product development, and initial trials & revisions. The instrument used was a validation sheet. Data analysis using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 26. The results of the study showed that, through expert validation, the developed test instrument can be used to measure students' mathematical reasoning and representation and the test items are categorized as valid, reliable, moderate and high levels of difficulty, and have good discriminatory power.

Abstract

This research is an experimental class and control class all aimed to determine students who obtain learning through talking stick method is better than the expository method in an increased understanding of mathematical concepts and there is an increased understanding of mathematical concepts using talking stick method. Penenlitian design is pretest-posttest control group desigen which is one type of True Experimental design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Kuningan in the school year 2015/2016 as many as 103 were distributed in three classes. Samples were students of class VIII A and VIII B were taken by simple random sampling. Data is the value of understanding mathematical concepts derived from the test results. Based on test data hypothesis that students who acquire learning through talking stick method is better than the expository method in an increased understanding of mathematical concepts and there is an increased understanding of mathematical concepts using talking stick method. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the talking stick method can improve students' understanding ofmathematical concepts SMP Negeri 5 Kuningan.

Abstract

Improving Student Mathematical Communication Ability.This study used a description test instrument to evaluate students' mathematicalcommunication abilities and used student response questionnaires to find out howstudents respond to the applied learning. To compare the ability of the two classes theresearcher uses one-way t test for two independent samples, Meanwhile, to analyzethe hypothesis of the class gain experiment, researchers used one sample t-test.From the pretest result it was known that the mean score of the experimental class was 4,57 and the control class was 3,79. Through the t-test at that value it is known that thitung = 1,86 while at 5% freedom degree and dk = 86 is known ttabel = 1,99. From both data it was known that -1,99 ? 1,86 ? 1,99 then it meets the acceptance criteria of H0. It means both classes have the initial ability of the same mathematical communication. Meanwhile, from posttest result it was known that the average of experiment class score was 11,53 and control class was 7,57. Because the posttest scores of the experimental class and homogeneous controls, then the comparative test was performed by the t-test. From the t-test it was known that thitung = 3,81 and ttabel = 1,67. From both data it was known that thitung ? ttable then thitung was not available in the reception area H0. This means that after the treatment of students' mathematical communication abilities, the experimental class was better than the control class. The improvement of mathematical communication ability of experimental class students were in the medium category. In addition, from the results of questionnaire responses of students, it was known that students showed a positive response to the probing-prompting learning model.

Abstract

Application of Cooperative-Meaningful InstructionalDesign (C-MID) Learning Model to Improve Student Mathematical CommunicationSkill. This study aims to examine the improvement of students' mathematicalcommunication skills with Cooperative-Meaningful Instructional Design learningmodel. This research involves experimental class and control class which is takenfrom class VII (Seven) SMP Negeri 4 Kuningan academic year 2016/2017. Theinstruments used in this study are test and questionnaire. Through experimentalmethod of pretest result it is known that the average score of mathematicalcommunication ability of control class is 31,36 while experiment class is 27,15. Andresult of posttest known that average score of communication of control class is 37,17and mean score of mathematical communication of experiment class is 43,08. Fromthe calculation of N-Gain score, the average of experimental class is 0,45 and thecontrol class is 0,26, it shows that after being given treatment of improvement ofmathematical ability of experiment class communication better than improvement ofmathematical communication ability of control class. The improvement ofmathematical communication skills of the experimental class is in the mediumcategory. In addition, from the result of questionnaire of student response, it is knownthat the students showed a positive response to the C- Cooperative-MeaningfulInstructional Design (C-MID) learning model.

Abstract

Application of Learning Model of Treffinger in Improvement of MathematicalReasoning Ability of Junior High School Students, Mathematics Education StudyProgram (PMTK) STKIP Muhammadiyah Kuningan, 2017. This study aims to examinewhether the improvement of students' mathematical reasoning using Treffingerlearning model is better than improving the ability of mathematical reasoning Studentsusing the direct learning model, examining whether improving students' mathematicalreasoning abilities by using the Treffinger learning model is in the high category, aswell as to examine how students respond to the Treffinger learning model. This type ofresearch is quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The researchvariables consist of one independent variable that is Treffinger learning model and onedependent variable that is students' mathematical reasoning ability. The studypopulation consisted of all students of class VII (Seven) academic year 2016/2017SMP Negeri 4 Kuningan, consisting of class VII-A as experimental class and class VIIC as control class. The study used a description test instrument to evaluate students'mathematical reasoning abilities as well as to use a student response questionnaire tofind out the student's response to the applied learning. To compare the capabilities ofboth classes of researchers using one-way t test for two independent samples. Whileto test the hypothesis about improving the reasoning ability of mathematic researcheruse comparison gain test. The results showed that improving students' mathematicalreasoning ability by using Treffinger learning model is better than direct learningmodel. For the second hypothesis the improvement of the learning model using theTreffinger learning model is not in the high category. For the third hypothesis students'responses show almost entirely positive responses to the Treffinger learning model

Abstract

The purpose in this research is to know of student respond to medium visual action in mathematic subject studying in order to up student interest in the classroom. The research is conducted through the stage of pre-test and cycle in which the data are collected through tests and analyzed descriptively. The result of the research shows that there is a significant improvement of the students’ interest after they have been exposed with the implementation of visual media presentation. The students’ completeness of the pre-test which is 56% and the average is 73 in Cycle I has increased to 69% with the average 76. The same thing happens to Cycle II in which it increases to 74% with the average of 78. It also happens to the Cycle III in which it increases to 86% and the average is 80. The result of the questionnaire which assesses the aspect of comprehension is 91,7 %. On the other side, the result of the questionnaire which assesses the aspect of the improvement of the students’ interest is 93,5 %. The success of improving the students’ interest is also due to the school facility, the readiness of the researcher, and the condition of the students in the classroom. The result of the research is that the implementation of visual media can increase the students’ interest in learning. The advise can give are the teacher should can to motivation the student with way study diversity in the classroom though student interest to mathematic subject can up more.

Abstract

Amelia Rizki Utami (NIM: 123223004), The application of Open-Ended approach for student’s problem solving skills in mathematical, Study Programme:Educational of math 2016. In math, problem solving skills is the most important. Esspecially when we find the stories task, not a routine task and we can applicate it in daily life or other situation. Student’s skills will be increase if their often faced by problem which is requires understanding of concept, not reminde the finishing procedure. A problem which is requires student’s understanding of concept called as Open-ended. It will be increasing a various aspect of student’s skills. This research is created to find out the application about Open-Ended approach on mathematical problem solving. This is a quantitative research. A subject is student of SMP Negeri 3 Kuningan grade VIII, 2nd semester 2015/2016 educational year. Class VIII D as experimental class and class VIII C as control class. Document is taken by test and form. From analytical result, even the first and last sample normaly distributed and homogen and also before applicating the sample there is no significant differentiation. To find out the difference after apllicating, from both teaching methode using t test. Then, with test criteria thiting > ttabel the result is 2,28 > 2,00. The conclution of teching methode using Open-Ended approach is better than using conventional methode at SMP Negeri 3 Kuningan.

Abstract

This research having target to know ability of understanding concept mathematics student by applying model study of co-operative type NHT with student obtaining conventional study. Method which used in this research that is experiment method by using non-equivalent control group design. This research entangle experiment class and control class of class VII in SMPN 1 Cidahu of school year 2015/2016. This Research use instrument of essay test to know ability of understanding concept mathematics student and also use enquette respon student to know student respon to applied study. Pursuant to result of research that ability of understanding concept mathematics of student using model study of NHT more better than student obtaining conventional study. As for enlargement to ability understanding concept mathematics of student experiment class with mean 0,31 residing in medium category. Besides from result of enquette of respon student equal to 95,12% show positive respon of student to applied study.
