Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan metakognitif siswa SMA kelas XI program IPA dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei yang melibatkan siswa SMA negeri di Kabupaten Kulon Progo dan Gunungkidul. Sampel penelitian adalah 160 siswa kelas XI program IPA yang berasal dari 6 sekolah yang mewakili tiga kategori capaian akademik siswa yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes dan angket Metacognitive Awarenes Inventory (MAI). Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 44% siswa mempunyai kemampuan metakognitif tinggi, 10% siswa mempunyai kemampuan metakognitif sedang, dan 46% siswa mempunyai kemampuan metakognitif rendah. Sebagian besar siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan metakognitif tinggi mampu menggunakan kemampuan metakognitifnya selama memecahkan masalah. Tidak semua siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan metakognitif sedang mampu menggunakan kemampuan metakognitifnya selama memecahkan masalah. Hampir semua siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan metakognitif rendah tidak menggunakan kemampuan metakognitifnya selama memecahkan masalah. Secara keseluruhan siswa kurang maksimal menggunakan kemampuan metakognitif selama memecahkan masalah. AbstractThis study aimed to describe the metacognitive abilities of eleventh-grade high school students in the science program in solving math problems. This study was a survey involving public high school students in Kulon Progo and Gunungkidul Regency, Indonesia. The research sample was 160 students from the eleventh-grade science program from 6 public high schools representing three categories of student academic achievement, namely high, medium, and low. The sample was determined using a stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a test and Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that 44% of students had high metacognition abilities, 10% of students had moderate metacognition abilities, and 46% of students had low metacognition abilities. Most students who had high metacognitive abilities were able to use their metacognitive abilities while solving problems. Not all students who had moderate metacognition abilities were able to use their metacognitive abilities while solving problems. Almost all students who had low metacognition abilities didn’t use their metacognitive abilities while solving problems. Overall, students did not use metacognition skills maximally during problem-solving.

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa SMP di Kabupaten Mamuju dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Kemampuan siswa dilihat berdasarkan indikator menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta. Subjek penelitian adalah 98 siswa SMP di Kabupaten Mamuju, Indonesia, yang berasal dari empat sekolah dengan kategori tinggi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda, tes uraian, dan wawancara untuk menggali informasi lebih mendalam dari siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kemampuan siswa SMP di Kabupaten Mamuju dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berbasis HOTS berada pada kriteria rendah. Persentase siswa yang mampu menjawab soal untuk indikator menganalisis termasuk pada kriteria sedang. Sedangkan, persentase siswa yang mampu menjawab soal untuk indikator mengevaluasi dan mencipta termasuk pada kriteria sangat rendah.AbstractThis qualitative descriptive study aims to describe the ability of junior high school students in Mamuju Regency to solve mathematics problems based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Students’ abilities were seen based on indicators of analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The research subjects were 98 junior high school students from four high-performance schools in Mamuju Regency, Indonesia. Data collection used multiple-choice tests, essay tests, and interviews to dig deeper information from students. The study results revealed that the overall ability of junior high school students in Mamuju Regency in solving mathematics problems based on HOTS was in the low criteria. The percentage of students who could answer questions for analyzing indicators was included in the medium criteria. Meanwhile, the percentage of students who were able to answer questions for indicators of evaluating and creating was included in the very low criteria.

The rapid development of technology offers many advantages to the proses of learning in the classroom. This experimental research aimed to investigates the effectiveness of learning mathematics delivered through blended learning. In particular, this study compared the effectiveness of blended learning using Moodle and traditional one in relation to students’ conceptual understanding. The data was gathered through written test and interview. This study involved 127 students of grade eight secondary school. The data shows that students who learn in blended learning approach have better conceptual understanding rather than their counterparts. The students claim that they can access learning material and revisit some difficult material in their convenience time. Nevertheless, there are some obstacles faced by students related to maintaining their motivation to learn independently and keeping distraction off to access other website when they learn online.Key words: blended learning, conceptual understanding

This study compared the effects of game-based learning and textbook on students achievement. A problem solving method was employed in learning processes in the classroom. One hundred and thirteen students of grade eight from three junior high schools in the Province of Yogyakarta, who were selected using convenience sampling, participated in this study. The study employed a quasi experiment with a pretest-posttest control-group design. The data were collected through a pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The data were analysed using ANOVA, indicating that the students who were exposed to the game-based learning within problem solving approach significantly outperformed their counterparts who were exposed on the basis of textbook within problem solving. The data from questionnaire revealed that the students preferred game-based learning because they could understand the materials with enjoyable and easily.

[Bahasa]: Artikel ini membahas kepraktisan dan keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran matematika sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) berbasis teori van Hiele dan berorientasi pada penalaran spasial. Perangkat pembelajaran berupa rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dan lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS). Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Instrumen pengumpulan data terdiri dari lembar observasi keterlaksanaaan pembelajaran, lembar penilaian kepraktisan dari guru dan siswa, dan tes penalaran spasial. Subjek uji coba perangkat pembelajaran adalah 106 siswa dari tiga kelas di SMKN 2 Ngawi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika SMK menggunakan teori van Hiele berorientasi pada penalaran spasial praktis. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari respon guru dan siswa yang menyatakan bahwa perangkat dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Selain itu, perangkat yang dikembangkan juga efektif dilihat dari persentase ketuntasan kemampuan penalaran spasial siswa mencapai 82% setelah menggunakan perangkat pembejalaran yang dikembangkan. Perangkat ini dapat menunjang kemampuan penalaran siswa karena menyediakan ilustrasi gambar dan bidang kartesius untuk memfasilitasi siswa berpikir spasial. Kata kunci: Perangkat Pembelajaran; van Hiele; Penalaran Spasial [English]: This paper discusses the practicality and effectiveness of mathematics instructional package for vocational school based on van Hiele theory and oriented to spatial reasoning. The learning package was developed using ADDIE’s model. The research instruments consisted of observation sheet, practicality assessment sheets from teachers and students, and spatial reasoning test. The tryout involved 106 students from three classes in SMKN 2 Ngawi. The result of research showed that instructional package of vocational school based on van Hiele theory is practical to use as can be seen from the teacher's and students’ responses. The instructional package was also considered to be effective because 82% of students passed the spatial reasoning test. The package provided figures illustration and Cartesian model that could support students’ spatial thinking. Keywords: Instructional Package; van Hiele; Spatial Reasoning

This community service is aimed at introducing realistic mathematics learning approach in elementary school and training of teachers to develop creative and meaningful mathematics learning media with Islamic context. This activity takes the form of training to deepen the learning materials and develop the Islamic context in the learning of mathematics. The technical steps in this activity are explanation and discussion about the importance of paying attention to the child's cognitive development stage in implementing the learning to be meaningful for the students. The next stage is an explanation and discussion of realistic mathematics learning approaches and appropriate learning media that use meaningful daily context for students. Furthermore, a workshop was held to develop realistic learning media with an Islamic context. Based on the observation and discussion with the participants it can be concluded that the participants enthusiastically attend the training. Participants also identified and acquired new ideas to develop realistic elementary-based mathematics learning media with an Islamic context. Such media is expected to motivate students to learn mathematics because it uses approach and learning media meaningful for students.

The widespread use of smartphones to play games and the lack of use as a medium for learning mathematics is the reason for the need for the development of smartphone-based edutainment learning media. The purpose of this research is to design and develop interactive edutainment learning applications of mobile mathematics games to help junior high school students to learn line and angles material. This mobile game-based application incorporates graphic design, background music, and animation, and a major structural element in game development to attract students. This research belongs to the type of Research and Development (R&D) and the model used is the ADDIE model that is carried out in a systematic stage. The results of the study show that the developed game meets the valid aspects, where the level of expert approval of the design functionality has an average value of 4,49 out of 5, meanwhile, the assessment of the material has an average score of 4,17 out of 5 and the user states that the game meets the practical aspect with an average score of 3,75 out of 5. It is hoped that this game-based learning application called "CORNER" for mobile devices can act as an additional tool for improving students' conceptual understanding and interest to learn through the scientific approach used.

With the Covid-19 Pandemic, the teacher's role is not only as a teacher in a formal school but is expected to be an agent of renewal in the face of a new normal where we must all be able to live with the coronavirus. This research aims to get an idea of teachers' experiences as community coaches or extensions and the most appropriate type of training during this pandemic. The data in this descriptive study was obtained from the spread of questionnaires to 16,546 respondents who were teachers at the early childhood education (PAUD) to high school (SMA) levels throughout Indonesia. Data processing and analysis were done descriptively and obtained some results. Notably, 77.8% of respondents have experience in providing training, and the most training materials ever given by teachers as coaches are about education, which is 88.9%. Related to the skills needed to act as a coach with material about life in the Era New Normal, most teachers assume that speaking in public, developing presentation materials, and using technology are skills that must be possessed. Furthermore, the study's results can be a reference for developing training forms with teachers as coaches or extensionists, especially in the New Normal era.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) dengan bantuan geogebra terhadap prestasi belajar dan keterampilan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen. Adapun desain penelitian yang dipakai yakni One-Group Pre-test-Postest Design. Tahapan pada penelitian ini, yakni: (1) melakukan pretest, (2) memberikan perlakuan pembelajaran, (3) melakukan postest dan (4) menarik kesimpulan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dikelas VIID SMPN 2 Gamping Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Instrumen dari penelitian ini yakni tes. Instrumen tes berupa pre-tes dan posttest yang mengukur prestasi belajar matematika dan keterampilan komunikasi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif jenis STAD dengan bantuan geogebra mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar matematika yang mencapai kategori tinggi (N-gain = 0,73) dan keterampilan komunikasi matematis yang mencapai kategori tinggi (N-gain = 0,71). Sehingga bisa ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif jenis STAD dengan bantuan geogebra bisa menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar dan keterampilan komunikasi matematis.

AbstrakLiterasi statistik merupakan kemampuan menggunakan statistika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan merupakan kemampuan penting untuk menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengemukakan kondisi, permasalahan literasi statistik siswa dan bagaimana permasalahan belajar statistika yang dialami siswa di sekolah serta sejauh mana pengetahuan dan kemampuan siswa terkait literasi statistik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini 11 siswa SMA di kota Lhokseumawe, Aceh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan satu set soal tes kemampuan literasi statistik. Analisis data hasil wawancara dilakukan melalui analisis tematik dan analisis data untuk soal tes kemampuan literasi statistik dilakukan melalui teknik interaktif. Hasil wawancara pada penelitian ini diperoleh 4 temuan utama tentang kondisi literasi statistik siswa yaitu persepsi siswa mengenai materi yang termasuk ke dalam stastistika, implementasi literasi statistik dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, pelaksanaan pembelajaran statistika di sekolah dan hambatan siswa mempelajari statistika. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil tes diperoleh tingkat kemampuan literasi statistik siswa masih tergolong rendah. Fenomena yang diperoleh bahwa kondisi literasi statistik siswa belum baik dan tingkat kemampuan literasi statistik siswa masih tergolong rendah karena terdapat permasalahan siswa dalam mempelajari statistika.Kata kunci: fenomena; literasi statistik; pembelajaran matematika AbstractStatistical literacy is the ability to use statistics in everyday life and is an important ability to face the industrial revolution 4.0. This study aims to describe the conditions, problems of students' statistical literacy and how problems learning statistics are experienced by students at school as well as the extent to which students' knowledge and abilities are related to statistical literacy. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach and a phenomenological research design. The participants in this study were 11 high school students in the city of Lhokseumawe, Aceh. Data collection was carried out through interviews and a set of statistical literacy ability test questions. Data analysis from interviews was carried out through thematic analysis and data analysis for statistical literacy ability test questions was carried out through interactive techniques. The results of interviews in this study obtained 4 main findings regarding the condition of students' statistical literacy, namely students' perceptions of material included in statistics, implementation of statistical literacy in everyday life, implementation of learning statistics in schools and students' barriers to learning statistics. Meanwhile, based on the test results, it was found that the statistical literacy ability of students was still relatively low. The phenomena obtained is that the condition of students' statistical literacy is not good and the level of students' statistical literacy ability is still relatively low because there are students' problems in studying statistics.
