Abstract

Kesiapan siswa tingkat sekolah menengah atas dalam menghadapi dunia kerja global sangat dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan mereka dalam menulis surat lamaran kerja dan cover letter berbahasa Inggris. Namun, kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa belum memahami struktur penulisan surat lamaran secara tepat dan belum memiliki keterampilan mendesain dokumen lamaran secara menarik. Hal ini juga ditemukan di SMK PAB 3 Medan, di mana mayoritas siswa belum terbiasa menggunakan bahasa Inggris secara fungsional dan belum memanfaatkan media digital seperti Canva. Menanggapi permasalahan tersebut, tim dosen dari Universitas Deztron Indonesia melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan menulis dan merancang surat lamaran kerja serta cover letter berbahasa Inggris berbasis Canva. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 siswa kelas XI dan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 Juni 2025. Metode pelatihan meliputi penyampaian materi, praktik langsung menulis dan mendesain dokumen, serta sesi tanya jawab dan evaluasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap struktur dan isi surat lamaran kerja, serta kemampuan dalam memanfaatkan Canva untuk mendesain dokumen secara profesional dan menarik. Kegiatan ini juga berdampak pada meningkatnya kepercayaan diri dan kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi dunia kerja di era digital. Diharapkan pelatihan ini dapat menjadi model pembelajaran terapan yang dapat direplikasi di sekolah lain dengan kebutuhan serupa.Kata Kunci: surat lamaran kerja, cover letter, Canva, pelatihan, siswa SMK

Abstract

AbstrakPengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan salah satu metode yang dapat diterapkan agar siswa dapat lebih efektif dalam menggunakan media teknologi menjadi sebuah tuntutan dalam perubahan pembelajaran berbasis online. Penggunaan aplikasi media Duolingo menjadi salah satu alternatif yang bisa digunakan dalam pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa melalui penggunaan aplikasi media Duolingo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian tindakan di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah Sd Swasta IT Tahfidzul Quran Al Umm Smart Centre dengan melibatkan 28 siswa. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan tes. para pembelajar bahasa ini mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajarinya, di antaranya kesulitan dalam berbicara, menulis, mendengar, membaca ataupun memperkaya kosakata bahasa inggris.Aplikasi duolingo merupakan aplikasi tak berbayar dengan materi yang lengkap serta fitur yang sederhana dan menarik sehingga memudahkan pelajar dalam belajar baik secara mandiri maupun bersama-sama. Hasil dari PKM ini siswa dapat memperkaya kosakata bahasa Inggris mereka melalui aplikasi bahasa inggris duolingo dan dapat menyusun kosakata tersebut menjadi kalimat yang benar. Selain itu siswa-siswi pun dapat menambah ketrampilan membaca dengan pelafalan dan pengucapan bahasa inggris yang benar. Dengan adanya kegiatan PKM ini, ke depannya dosen program studi Sastra Inggris, Universitas Deztron Indonesia mampu membantu dan menghasilkan program-program bermanfaat lainnya bagi masyarakat luas.Kata Kunci : Aplikasi Duolingo, Media Pembelajaran Teknologi, Keterampilan Berbicara Bahasa Inggris AbstractThis Community Service aims to provide one of the methods that can be applied so that students can be more effective in using technology media as a demand in changing online-based learning. The use of the Duolingo media application is one of the alternatives that can be used in learning speak English. This study aims to find out how to improve students' speaking skills through the use of the Duolingo media application. This study uses a qualitative approach with an action research design in the classroom. This research was conducted at the IT Tahfidzul Quran Al Umm Smart Center Private Elementary School by involving 28 students. Data was obtained from the results of observations, interviews, and tests. Learners of this language experience difficulties in learning it, including difficulties in speaking, writing, listening, reading or enriching English vocabulary.  The duolingo application is a free application with complete materials and simple and interesting features that make it easier for students to learn both independently and together. As a result of this PKM, students can enrich their English vocabulary through the duolingo english application and can compile the vocabulary into correct sentences. In addition, students can also increase their reading skills with correct English pronunciation and pronunciation. With this PKM activity, in the future lecturers of the English Literature study program, Deztron University Indonesia will be able to help and produce other useful programs for the wider community.Keywords : Duolingo Application, Technology Learning Media, English Speaking Skills

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan minat dan kemampuan belajar bahasa Inggris siswa SD Swasta IT Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Umm Smart Centre. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan mengembangkan worksheet interaktif. Penelitian melibatkan 28 siswa sebagai partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan worksheet interaktif efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar bahasa Inggris siswa sebesar 80% dan kemampuan bahasa Inggris siswa meningkat sebesar 70%. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa worksheet interaktif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca, menulis, dan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berdampak positif pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dan dapat menjadi model pengembangan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah lain. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru dan pengembang kurikulum untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di tingkat sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci: Pengabdian masyarakat, bahasa Inggris, worksheet interaktif, minat belajar

Abstract

This study aims to investigate and analyze the creative thinking abilities of Generation Alpha junior high school students in solving systems of linear equations in two variables (SPLDV) word problems, viewed from their learning styles. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach supported by NVivo software for automatic coding (autocode) and thematic visualization. The subjects consisted of 24 eighth-grade students from a school in Tegal regency, with results showing that 45.8% were visual learners, 29.1% auditory learners, and 25% kinesthetic learners. Furthermore, three students were purposively selected since it adequately represents the variety within the category to represent each learning style category for in-depth analysis. The instruments used included a learning style questionnaire, SPLDV word problem tests, and interview guidelines. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, while validity was ensured through methodological triangulation. The findings reveal that: (1) visual learners demonstrated all four indicators of creative thinking, with a notable strength in flexibility; (2) auditory learners achieved three indicators, particularly excelling in fluency; and (3) kinesthetic learners fulfilled four indicators, with a strong emphasis on elaboration. The prevalence of short-form visual content on social media influences Generation Alpha’s learning preferences, which are faster-paced and more visually oriented.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between teacher professionalism and student learning outcomes in Civic Education at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan. It focuses on how teacher participation, teaching activities, and challenges influence the learning process. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through interviews and surveys. The findings reveal that teachers' professional competencies, particularly in lesson planning, the use of varied teaching media, and providing remediation, significantly improved students' knowledge acquisition. Despite challenges such as curriculum changes and limited resources, teachers like Ibu Monalisa Tarigan, S.Pd actively engage in professional development programs to enhance their teaching effectiveness. The study highlights the importance of teacher preparation, creativity, and individualized attention in creating a productive learning environment. It concludes that teacher professionalism has a positive impact on both cognitive and creative student outcomes.

Abstract

: Family support during the rehabilitation phase is very much needed in order to improve the quality of life of post-stroke patients. Poor delivery of information and coordination between health teams causes family knowledge about disease management to be incomplete. Counseling and education is one of the pillars of managing stroke patients. The nurse's obligation is to provide education and ensure the transition of care to the family as a care agent for the patient at home. Identification of family members for educational purposes requires paying attention to educational background and productive age level. This research aims to examine the influence of health education about ROM on family motivation in carrying out ROM in stroke infarction patients in the family. The research design used is Quasi Experimental Design using a one group model pre test - post test design. The population in this study were all families of stroke patients in the Durenan Community Health Center Working Area.The research results showed that before health education regarding ROM was carried out, there were 25 respondents (83.3%) who had sufficient motivation to carry out ROM in stroke infarction patients. After health education about ROM, there were 20 respondents (66.7%) who had the motivation to carry out ROM in stroke infarction patients in the good category. The results of quantitative data analysis using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test statistic with the help of the SPSS computer program can be interpreted as statistical test results with a significance of 0.05 resulting in a value of P Value = 0.000 which is smaller than the value of a = 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) so that H0 rejected and H1 accepted, which means there is an influence of health education about ROM on family motivation in carrying out ROM for infarction stroke patients in the Durenan Community Health Center Working Area.In accordance with the research instrument carried out by the researchers, it was found that after health education about ROM was carried out using audio-visual media, it was found that there was an increase in family motivation in carrying out ROM for family members who had suffered a stroke. This needs to be given attention and efforts must be made so that health workers can continue to provide health education about ROM to patient families so that families can be motivated and play an active role in helping to carry out ROM for family members who suffer from stroke.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the causes of death and disability in both urban and rural areas. Stroke is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain which lasts for several seconds to several minutes, where if it occurs for more than a few minutes an infarction will occur in the brain tissue. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of observational education about stroke on family function in preventing recurrent strokes in family members who suffer from stroke. The research was carried out in the Baruharjo Community Health Center Work Area. Quasy Experimental research design with control group pretest-posttest design. The independent variable is Observational stroke education while the dependent variable is family function. The research population was all families of stroke patients in the Baruharjo Community Health Center Working Area. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling with a sample of 30 people. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The research results showed that before observational education about stroke was carried out, the majority (17 respondents or 56.7%) had family function in preventing recurrent stroke in the sufficient category. Meanwhile, after observational education about stroke was carried out, almost all respondents (29 respondents or 96.7%) had the family function in preventing recurrent strokes in family members who suffered stroke in the good category. The results of quantitative data analysis using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test using the SPSS program showed that the statistical test results had a p value of <0.000 which was smaller than the value of p= 0.05. The family plays a very important role during the post-acute stage of care for stroke patients in hospital to meet daily care and rehabilitation needs. Caring for patients with stroke is a serious matter. Families, whatever their age and circumstances, need information, education and social support to be able to carry out patient care and be able to adapt to their new roles.

Abstract

Nurses in carrying out their role as care givers have the task of caring for patients, making decisions, communicating and collaborating with other health teams. The Emergency Room is part of the hospital that provides initial treatment for patients. The implementation of patient safety carried out by nurses is a form of compliance in every action or interaction with patients in accordance with a compliance theory or known as the "Compliance Model" (Charles et al, 2003). The design in this study was analytical observation using a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted in the Emergency Room of Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Hospital in March - April 2019. The population in this study were all nurses in the Emergency Room of Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Hospital as many as 30 people with the sample being nurses in the Emergency Room of Dr. Soedomo Trenggalek Hospital. The sampling procedure was carried out using total sampling. The researcher used an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The factor that most influences the role of nurses as care givers in implementing patient safety through the compliance model approach in the Emergency Room is the nurse's attitude. Hospitals are required to provide continuous education and training, periodic socialization of training results to improve the knowledge and skills of officers in implementing patient safety so that it has an impact on optimal nurse performance. Patient safety as a global issue must be included in the education curriculum and become a target for student competency achievement so that new nurses can implement patient safety.
