Abstract

Amputation of the lower extremities not only causes physical loss and psychological disturbance but also leads to discomfort and continuous pain sensation. Virtual reality is one of the promising alternatives as a non-pharmacological intervention in reducing pain. This method provides an experience in virtual activity that can distract patients from pain and increase relaxation. The purpose of this writing is to help identify the effectiveness of virtual reality in reducing post-amputation pain in the lower extremities. The method used in this article is a literature review method. Article searches were conducted on Scopus, Sage, Google Scholar, and ProQuest websites by entering the keywords "virtual reality pain amputation lower extremity". There were 10 articles used after being selected using these keywords. Virtual reality shows the potential effectiveness in reducing pain and improving functional outcomes in patients with lower extremity amputations. Virtual reality training oriented towards tasks also focuses on improving motor function and reducing avoidance behavior by providing a safe and controlled environment for individuals to practice and gradually increase their mobility.

Abstract

AND “Nursing” AND “Peritoneal Dialysis”.

Abstract

Outpatient nursing services are an important element for hospitals to produce many patients, particularly inpatients. Outpatient nursing services are currently still not optimal. Nurses are responsible for providing good service to increase patient satisfaction. Aim: This case report aims to describe the implementation of planned changes to optimize the outpatient nursing service planning function. Method: The method used is a case report. Data collection uses interviews, questionnaires, and field observations. The results of data exploration are then analyzed using SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) and fishbone diagrams, then formulating a plan of action (PoA), followed by implementation and evaluation. Results: The results of the study showed that the priority problem in nursing services was that the implementation of the planning function was not optimal. Making outpatient nursing service guidelines is a strategy for solving problems in developing outpatient nursing services. Implementation of problem-solving uses a theory of change approach by the stages of Kotter's eight-step plan. Recommendation: Kotter's eight-step plan theory of change approach can be continued by hospital management as a form of initiation of service development.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a deadly disease and patients need to adhere to a self-care management program for the rest of their lives. Many patients fail to maintain their condition and require re-hospitalization which is assumed due to lack of support. Support groups are a continuity of care effort for patients with cardiovascular disease that are useful as a place for sharing, education, and recreation. This paper aims to gather information and analyze evidence-based information regarding the role of support groups for cardiovascular patients and how to build intimacy in these support groups. The method is based on a literature review of relevant databases surrounding intimacy in support groups for patients with cardiovascular disease. The results of the study showed that support group activities can be organized by peer groups or professional groups which are carried out online or offline. The success of a support group as a medium for changing patient behavior depends on the intimacy/closeness that is formed within the group itself. The intimacy that can be seen from members feeling the need for a support group is the potential for support group activities to last a long time. A support group with a climate of intimacy has been formed to provide continuity of care for cardiovascular disease patients. Support groups that have established intimacy between group members are very necessary for patients with CVD to increase compliance and prevent readmission. Keywords: Support Group; Intimacy; Cardiovascular Disease

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pain is a problem that always arises in postoperative patients. Pain in patients after orthopedic surgery is higher than in other surgical cases. Postoperative pain management has not been fulfilled optimally. Untreated pain problems have a negative impact both physically and psychologically. To find out the implementation of the 24-hour pain assessment protocol in patient with orthopaedic surgery. This study is the application of Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) in post orthopedic surgery patients. Inclusion criteria: patients undergoing orthopedic surgery, aged 18 years, can communicate well, willing to be involved in the study. Exclusion criteria: patients with decreased consciousness and patients with cognitive impairment. Pain reporting was carried out independently at the 3rd hour, 7th hour, 11th hour, 15th hour, 19th hour and 24th hour in a state of rest and in a state of movement. The most severe postoperative pain was reported by patients in the first 3 hours after surgery and began to decrease in both conditions both at rest and during movement. Pain at 3 to 19 hours showed a significant difference between pain at rest and on movement (p<0.05). At the 24th hour measurement, the results showed that there was no difference in pain scores at rest and during movement (p>0.05). Application of pain assessment protocols for 24 hours after orthopedic surgery can determine the dynamics of patient pain from time to time while at rest and during movement. Pain in patients after orthopedic surgery is at a mild to moderate level. Keywords: Assessment, Orthopaedic, Pain, Surgery  ABSTRAK Nyeri menjadi permasalahan yang selalu muncul pada pasien paska operasi.
