Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of adolescents' lives, offering quick access to information, including reproductive health information. However, exposure to inaccurate information can pose risks. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media use and adolescent reproductive health knowledge and behavior. A quantitative research method with a cross-sectional approach and chi-square test was used to examine the relationship between the independent variable (social media use) and the dependent variable (reproductive health knowledge and behavior). The study population was all 10th grade students (23 students) and 11th grade students (30 students) at SMK Tamansiswa Boja Kendal. A sample of 53 respondents was taken using an accidental sampling technique, consisting of students who happened to be present and willing to participate during the study. The results showed that the majority of respondents (56.6%) had low social media usage intensity. The majority of respondents also had a high level of knowledge (75.5%) about reproductive health, with an average score of 8.13 and a median of 10. Most respondents (66.0%) demonstrated positive reproductive health behavior. However, the chi-square test results showed no significant relationship between social media use and levels of knowledge (p = 0.673) or reproductive health behavior (p = 0.495). Although social media did not show a significant direct relationship to adolescent reproductive health knowledge and behavior in the context of this study, the high levels of knowledge and positive behaviors found indicate that existing educational programs, both in schools and from other sources, have been effective. Further research with larger samples and wider geographic variation is needed to understand other factors that influence adolescent health behavior.

Abstract

This study maps methodological patterns, outcome domains, and the strength of evidence on the effectiveness of occupational health and safety (OHS) interventions in Indonesian healthcare institutions. The review used a scoping review approach based on PRISMA-ScR and the Population-Concept-Context framework. Articles published between 2000 and 2026 were searched through SINTA/GARUDA, journal portals, and Google Scholar. Twelve studies met the inclusion criteria, and all were conducted in hospital settings. Cross-sectional and qualitative designs were the most common approaches, while the dominant intervention or evaluation forms were personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance audits, supervision, risk assessment, and hospital OHS program reviews. The most frequently reported outcomes were PPE compliance, hazard identification and risk assessment, and implementation of hospital OHS components. Most studies were still positioned at evidence level 0-1, indicating limited capacity to demonstrate causal effectiveness. Overall, the literature remains stronger in describing problems and procedural compliance than in measuring intervention impact. Future studies should employ stronger evaluative designs, include harder outcomes, and extend the evidence base to clinics, primary care facilities, pharmacies, laboratories, and other supporting healthcare units.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a decisive phase in the maternal continuum, because the first weeks after birth determine whether women recover safely, establish breastfeeding, recognise danger signs, and regain physical and psychological well-being. Yet postpartum care remains fragmented in many settings, with discontinuity between pregnancy, birth, and postnatal services. This systematic literature review examined the effectiveness of continuity of care in improving postpartum maternal care, focusing on maternal outcomes, breastfeeding, psychosocial well-being, care experience, and service quality. The review was prepared using PRISMA 2020 reporting principles and a structured search of publications indexed between 2021 and 2025 in major health databases and authoritative institutional sources. Studies discussing midwifery continuity, caseload care, team continuity, and integrated postnatal follow-up were screened and narratively synthesised. The evidence consistently showed that continuity of care was associated with better postpartum service engagement, stronger breastfeeding outcomes, greater maternal satisfaction, improved emotional support, and lower levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms. Several studies also reported lower intervention rates during labour and better neonatal indicators, which indirectly supported healthier postpartum recovery. However, effectiveness depended on relational continuity, manageable caseloads, interdisciplinary referral pathways, and supportive health systems. This review concludes that continuity of care is an effective strategy for improving postpartum maternal care and should be strengthened through midwife-led, woman-centred, and integrated care models, especially in settings where routine postnatal care is still fragmented or underutilised.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding remains a central strategy for improving infant survival, growth, immunity, and maternal health, yet many postpartum mothers discontinue exclusive breastfeeding before six months because of pain, perceived insufficient milk, low confidence, limited family support, early formula exposure, and difficulty accessing professional lactation assistance. This systematic review aimed to synthesize recent evidence on the effectiveness of breastfeeding support in improving exclusive breastfeeding practices among postpartum mothers. A systematic search framework was developed using PubMed, ScienceDirect, CINAHL, ProQuest, Google Scholar, and relevant organizational reports published between 2021 and 2025. Eligible evidence included randomized trials, quasi-experimental studies, cohort studies, and systematic reviews evaluating professional, peer, family-based, group, digital, and community breastfeeding support. The synthesis indicates that structured support improves exclusive breastfeeding initiation, continuation, maternal self-efficacy, breastfeeding technique, problem-solving, and timely access to counseling. Interventions combining antenatal preparation, immediate postpartum assistance, follow-up after discharge, partner involvement, and responsive counseling showed stronger potential than one-time education. The findings support the integration of continuous, respectful, and culturally sensitive breastfeeding support into routine maternal and child health services.
