Abstract

Each era experiences significant changes in the field of Islamic education, necessitating the development of a well-structured curriculum grounded in strong philosophical foundations to ensure clear direction and purpose. Therefore, appropriate principles are required to develop the Islamic education curriculum. This study explains the contributions of several educational philosophical schools of thought and their implementation as a foundation for constructing an Islamic education curriculum. The study focuses on three educational philosophies: progressivism, constructivism, and humanism. The method employed is library research using a descriptive analytical approach, presented systematically and objectively. This study finds that integrating progressivism, constructivism, and humanism philosophies in developing Islamic education curricula can enrich pedagogical strategies while preserving core Islamic values. The progressivist approach promotes experiential learning and problem-solving, constructivism emphasizes knowledge construction through reflection and collaboration, while humanism nurtures learners' emotional, moral, and spiritual aspects. These philosophies create a dynamic, interactive, student-centered curriculum relevant to 21st-century needs.

Abstract

This study describes the best practices of implementing case methods and team-based projects in Consulting Project lectures related to achieving Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (KPI-HE). The study used a qualitative descriptive method to describe and depict the best practices of implementing case method and team-based project models in Consulting Project lectures. The research participants were 82 students taking consulting project lectures in the Mathematics Study Program. The case method and team-based project models were carried out simultaneously in lectures, directly confronting students with real problems, challenging students to develop creativity and critical thinking in determining various alternative solutions. The creation of various alternative solutions to partner issues and the formal signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the study program and partners prove that the consulting project lecture supports the achievement of the study program's KPI, especially KPI 6 related to partnerships and KPI 7 related to collaborative participatory classes. The best practices reported in this study will contribute to the study program in improving the quality of learning and, in general, in revising the curriculum, especially for courses aimed at training students to become part of the world of work and industry.

Abstract

The phenomenon of street children in big cities, including Palembang City, is a complex social problem that requires special attention. These children generally come from poor or unstable families and are forced to work on the streets to survive or avoid dysfunctional home conditions. This study aims to analyze the social life system of street children through the perspective of Talcott Parsons' organic system and the perspective of utilitarianism. The method used is qualitative analysis based on interviews, street children's questionnaires, and Palembang City community questionnaires. Based on the organic system theory, street children are the result of family failure in providing social support and stability, thus encouraging children to meet their needs independently. Meanwhile, from the perspective of utilitarianism, although living on the streets is full of risks, these children can still feel happiness through freedom, autonomy, and the opportunity to earn their living. Thus, street children's existence is influenced by family failure and rational decisions that give them a sense of comfort and freedom outside the home, and economic factors strongly influence both.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to analyze the phenomenon of bullying in schools to develop social sciences learning materials using literature studies and thematic synthesis. The research method includes collecting secondary literature from various indexed and accredited journals (Google Scholar, ISSN, Sinta, and Scopus), research reports, and credible documents published between 2015 and 2025. The thematic synthesis process includes initial coding, theme development, theme validation, theme naming, and compiling a narrative synthesis. This study has divided its findings into two main categories: 1) Development of Social Studies (IPS) learning materials on bullying in schools, which include the history of bullying, factors causing bullying, various forms of bullying, impacts of bullying, and the basis of contemporary social theory to understand the dynamics of bullying. 2) Strategies for developing Social Studies (IPS) learning materials for bullying prevention that can be implemented through Problem-Based Learning (PBL), strengthening social behavior, integration of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), and the application of proposed social learning theories to encourage critical reflection and development of student empathy. This study's results provide a reference for Social Studies teachers, curriculum developers, researchers, and policymakers aiming to reduce and prevent bullying through an anti-bullying-focused Social Studies curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of green activity programs in shaping the pro-environmental consumer behavior of elementary school students. The program was implemented as part of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project within the independent curriculum framework. The study involved 71 fifth-grade students from three public elementary schools in Bandung: SDN 240 Cijerah Indah, SDN 099 Babakan Tarogong, and SDN 191 Babakan Surabaya. The program was conducted over four weeks and included waste sorting, composting, recycling, energy-saving campaigns, and vegetable planting. A one-group pretest-post-test pre-experimental design was used, and data were collected through a green consumer behavior questionnaire assessing five behavioral stages: product search, purchase, usage, evaluation, and disposal. Quantitative analysis using paired sample t-tests showed a statistically significant improvement in students’ behavior (p < 0.001), with an average increase in scores ranging from 15.45 to 22.74 points across schools. The N-Gain analysis revealed moderate learning gains, with values between 0.558 and 0.563. These findings confirm the effectiveness of green activity programs in fostering pro-environmental consumer behavior. The study recommends implementing similar programs in other schools and conducting further research to assess long-term behavioral impacts and contributing factors. This research has implications for developing environmental education strategies that cultivate sustainable habits from an early age.

Abstract

The role of school principals in encouraging moderate attitudes toward religion amid increasing radicalism among students. This study examines school principals' leadership in implementing religious moderation at two Islamic Vocational Senior High Schools: SMK NU Tulungagung and SMK Islam 1 Durenan Trenggalek. It aims to understand the leadership style of school principals in instilling religious moderation values and the learning process and implementation of these values. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with managerial, pedagogical, sociological, and psychological approaches. The research data sources include principals, teachers, and students from both schools. Data collection techniques employ participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employs the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data condensation, presentation, and conclusion. The theoretical studies used include leadership theory in education and religious moderation. The results show that these values occur informally and are already part of the school culture, although no written policy specifically regulates them. This process has proven effective in shaping students' moderate attitudes, increasing tolerance, and strengthening the love of the homeland in both schools

Abstract

Instilling religious values is important to implement early, even during children's development and growth. Music, which has numerous benefits, can be an effective strategy in instilling those religious values. This research discusses the instillation of religious values implemented through singing activities using the "Mars Gembira Bergerak." The focus and data of the research were gathered at SMPN 2 Bengkayang, West Kalimantan. This song was created by the headmaster, who also has an interest and talent in the field of music. This research is descriptive and adopts a qualitative approach. Data were obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation of the song, which were transcribed to understand the lyrics and meaning of the song. The primary source is Mr. Marsel Marselius, the Headmaster and the song's creator. The triangulation technique was used to determine the educational strategy. The research results show that this song contains values of responsibility, enthusiasm, independence, creativity, and wisdom. It is important to sing while performing rhythmic movements so that this can lead to the creation of an interactive and enjoyable learning environment. Engaging social education will encourage active participation from students, fostering a sense of togetherness and strengthening social bonds among them. Through music, Islamic values such as the spirit of struggle, cooperation, and love for the homeland can be conveyed in a more engaging and easily understood manner by the students.

Abstract

In everyday life, society views educational activities are unsuitable for men, so women must take over this activity. This perception has gradually led to a clearer division of roles between men and women. During a six-month observation at Surabaya State University, an interesting phenomenon of gender dominance was discovered when the education department had a larger female student population than male students. This study aimed to analyze the reasons given by students for choosing the education department by adopting a qualitative research method. The data sources used are secondary data and primary data. Secondary data comes from books, journals, theses, and documents that still have an appeal to the research topic. Then the primary data is obtained through non-participant observation and unstructured interviews. Furthermore, it is explained using the interactive model data analysis technique from Miles and Huberman. The results of the study indicate that male students decisions to choose the education major were made after considering future job prospects (instrumental rationality), referring to religious values (value rationality), referring to feelings (affective action), and continuing the family tradition of pursuing a career in education (traditional action). Unlike previous studies focusing more on external factors (economic support), this study highlights more complex internal reasons.

Abstract

The conceptualization of Islamic education based on multiculturalism is important to implement to resolve and reconcile peace after social conflict. For this reason, this research was carried out to identify and describe important concepts that are the basis of multicultural Islamic education in post-social conflict reconciliation. This research used a descriptive qualitative research paradigm with documentation and field research models in the community and Islamic educational institutions in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. Data collection techniques use documentation, interviews, and observation. The reduced and classified data were then studied and conceptualized based on an in-depth study based on the theoretical perspective of Islamic education and multiculturalism. The results of the research are that the conceptualization of Islamic education based on multiculturalism in post-social conflict reconciliation is conceptualized in the form of (1) Islamic education to understand human differences; (2) Islamic education becomes a set of values for social life; (3) Islamic education accommodates local values; and (4) Islamic education becomes the foundation for social reconciliation. This conceptualization confirms that Islamic education based on multiculturalism can be used as an alternative in post-social conflict reconciliation.
