Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly accelerated the adoption of online learning, prompting extensive research on its implementation across various educational levels in Indonesia. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing 13 articles from the GARUDA database, published between 2019 and 2023. The findings reveal diverse platforms utilized for online learning, including Google Classroom (3 mentions), Quizizz (2 mentions), Edmodo (3 mentions), WhatsApp (2 mentions), and custom-developed platforms. At the primary and secondary education levels, platforms like Quizizz and Edmodo were associated with improvements in student motivation (42.5% increase in motivation) and learning outcomes (up to 84% in comprehension improvement for specific materials). However, challenges such as limited internet access and reduced interaction hindered learning experiences. In higher education, Google Classroom was the most frequently cited platform, enhancing accessibility and learning independence. Despite these benefits, issues such as unstable internet connectivity, skill-based material comprehension, and limited engagement persisted. This study concludes that online learning has notably improved accessibility, motivation, and learning outcomes, with significant potential to enhance educational quality. However, addressing barriers such as technical limitations and fostering better interaction are essential for further optimization. These insights provide valuable guidance for refining online learning practices and policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Mastery of the 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity) is essential for success in 21st-century education. However, the persistent challenges in developing collaboration skills highlight a critical gap in current educational practices. This research seeks to develop a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) video tutorial and assess its impact on enhancing students' collaboration skills in high school biology education. Using a Research and Development (R&D) design based on the Alessi & Trollip model, the study involved two media experts, two content specialists, three teachers, and twenty-nine students as participants. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed using the N-Gain technique to evaluate improvements in collaboration skills, alongside descriptive percentage techniques to assess the feasibility of the video media product. The urgency of this research lies in addressing the limitations of traditional teaching methods, which often fail to foster active collaboration among students. Findings from the planning phase, including interviews with biology teachers, revealed a lack of collaborative interaction in conventional classroom settings. In response, a video tutorial was developed to enhance teamwork and collaboration during project assignments. Expert validation yielded a high feasibility score of 85.3%, and user testing showed excellent results with an average score of 83.7%. The video tutorial achieved an N-Gain value of 0.52, categorized as moderate, indicating a significant improvement in students' collaboration skills. This research is significant as it provides a practical, scalable solution to improve collaborative learning through innovative media in biology education. Further studies are recommended to expand the development of PjBL-based videos for other subjects and to investigate their long-term impact on 21st-century skills.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the education sector, particularly in rural areas, and this effect continues to be felt. The transition to online learning technologies during this period was not effectively implemented. This situation underscores the necessity for accessible and effective media literacy resources to support reading skills. This study aims to enhance the reading abilities of elementary school students through the development of differentiated digital comics (KODI), specifically designed to cater to diverse learning needs. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model, the study involved one media expert, one content expert, and 30 fourth-grade students. Data collection was conducted through observations, interviews, and questionnaires, which were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The needs analysis revealed significant variations in students' reading abilities and preferences, highlighting the urgency for differentiated media. Expert validation indicated that KODI met the eligibility criteria, achieving an average validity score of 84.9%, categorizing it as "valid." Effectiveness testing using a T-test demonstrated a significant improvement in students' reading skills, with the posttest score differences between the experimental and control groups reaching a significant level (p < 0.05). The average posttest score for the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, confirming that KODI is effective in enhancing students' reading skills. These findings affirm the potential of KODI as an engaging and adaptive medium for improving reading skills at the elementary education level.

Abstract

In this digital era, information technology has become an integral part of almost every aspect of life. In the educational context, this technology also plays an important role in facilitating the publication process of scientific articles that is more valid, practical and effective. This research aims to develop the Padang State University Journal of Information and Educational Technology (JTIP) system, especially the development of an automatic LoA (Letter of Acceptance) system. Previously, the publication management process at JTIP still used manual methods in issuing LoAs. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an automatic LoA issuance system. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model approach which includes the Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate stages. The data collection technique was carried out through a questionnaire distributed to 4 validators, 25 authors and 3 editors to test the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the system. Data analysis uses the Aiken's V validity formula to test validity, average percentage to test practicality and effectiveness. The research results show that the automatic LoA system succeeded in shortening the LoA issuance time from 5-7 days to 1 day and obtained an Aiken's V validity value of 0.87 (Valid), an average practical value of 93.5% (Very Practical), and effectiveness value with TCR of 88.8% (Very Good). It is hoped that this research can increase the practicality and effectiveness of the scientific journal publication process, especially in the context of education and technology in Indonesia.
