Abstract

Learning media plays an important role in attracting students attention to understand the material. The results of observations of D3 Tata Boga 2017 students showed that only 18 out of 39 students reached the minimum completion criteria (78%) on napkin folding material, with learning resources limited to modules and jobsheets. One of the learning media through computers is using adobe flash player. The use of adobe flash player has not been utilized by the Culinary Study Program for student learning resources on napkin folding material. Based on this fact, learning to make napkin folds requires a stimulus from the lecturer, namely through the development of learning media. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of interactive multimedia as digital literacy on napkin folding material. This study used R&D with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The data analysis technique used the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) method. The interactive multimedia-based program uses Adobe Animate 2019 and Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019. The interactive multimedia developed consists of several features including an introductory menu, theory, video tutorials, and knowledge test questions as the final score. The results show user validation of 0.41 and are included in the appropriate CVR criteria. Based on the results of the validation of the material expert, the feasibility was obtained at 94.6% and 85.7% for the high feasibility aspect criteria. The results of the media expert validation obtained a feasibility value of 86.4% and 81.8% for the high feasibility aspect criteria. The field group trial consisting of 30 culinary program students obtained results of 84.38% and were included in the feasibility criteria. It is concluded that interactive multimedia as digital literacy is declared “suitable” as a learning resource in the Food and Beverage Service course.

Abstract

One of the online platforms used to support learning activities is the Learning Management System (LMS). LMS supports the evaluation of cognitive aspects but not affective ones. As learning is mostly asynchronous, it presents challenges for lecturers in assessing students' attitudes. However, LMS generates data that can potentially be used to evaluate student attitudes and academic resilience. With the system log on the LMS, we can process data into information on the level of understanding, learning attitude, and persistence of students. This research is related to the design of an analytic dashboard that is integrated with LMS using Moodle. The dashboard will display an evaluation of student learning activities from the attitudinal aspects of motivation, discipline, responsibility, and academic resilience aspects consisting of persistence, reflecting and asking for help, and negative affect and emotional response. The study involved 160 new students, with data collected from 130 participants. The method used is a Research and Development (R&D) approach, which includes three stages: introduction, development, and testing. Data triangulation was used for validation by comparing online assessments with student self-evaluations. The final stage visualizes the results of system log analysis through the analytic dashboard. Findings showed that motivation scores from self-assessment correlated with LMS data, while discipline and responsibility assessments yielded different results. Academic resilience measures also showed discrepancies between student and mentor assessments. This research highlights the potential to visualize affective learning aspects within LMS platforms, providing lecturers with valuable insights into both cognitive and affective dimensions of student performance.

Abstract

This study examines the development trends of vocational training research studies in Southeast Asia in the period 2014 to 2024 using bibliometric analysis methods. By setting the keyword "vocational training in Southeast Asia," this study collected data from academic databases and produced 1500 relevant journals. After going through the screening process, 844 articles were obtained which were then analyzed to identify trends and patterns in vocational training. The results of the analysis show three main phases: the initial phase (2014–2018) which focuses on aspects of psychology and political science; the development phase (2019–2021) which highlights the importance of physical and mental health; and the mature phase (2022–2024) which shifts attention to the social and economic impacts of vocational training. In addition, this study shows fluctuations in the number of publications, with a significant peak occurring in 2020. Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia dominate research contributions in this region. The main topics covered include competencies and skills, learning and curriculum, industry partnerships, policies and implementation, and technology and innovation. These findings provide a comprehensive picture of the evolution of thinking in vocational training in Southeast Asia, and suggest further research directions to strengthen the integration between vocational education and industry needs.

Abstract

about their actions’ environmental and social impact, Education teaches students to think critically and responsibly towards the surrounding environment. Therefore, as the spearhead of education, teachers must be aware of sustainability education, so that they can teach it to their students Hence. This research explores the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards sustainable awareness, especially in accounting teachers, and analyzes the interdimensional relationship to sustainable awareness.  This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey type of research. The data source for this study is 277 Vocational High School accounting teachers from the program of the institution's accounting and finance expertise, consisting of 239 females, and 38 males. They all participated in Teacher Professional Education at Universitas Sebelas Maret  Surakarta in 2023. The instrument used in this study is the Sustainability Consciousness Questionnaire (SCQ), developed by Gericke et al. in 2019. As a result of this study, teachers have knowledge about sustainable awareness that is followed up with sustainable attitudes and behaviors even though they are not optimal. This result can be seen from the high average score on knowledge of sustainable awareness, not followed by a high score on sustainable attitudes and behaviors. The study results show that each component's scores are 3.44, 3.17, and 3.13. This means that knowledge of sustainable awareness is not balanced with sustainable attitudes and behaviors.

Abstract

Smartphone’s use in early childhood is increasing. Parents need to place restrictions on its use. The aim of this research is to analyze restrictions on children's smartphone use. This research is qualitative in form with a case study approach and purposive sampling technique. Participants were 20 parents of children aged 3-6 years in PAUD in the city of Surabaya who filled out the questionnaire online and answered questions directly during the interview. The data collection tool is in the form of a Google form and interview guidelines. Data analysis is in the form of descriptive qualitative. The research results show that all parents have restricted smartphones for their children. Most parents are concerned about the negative impact of smartphone use on children's development and hope that children can limit their use according to the agreement and not be exposed to the negative influence of smartphone use. Therefore, most of the parents allowing their children to use their smartphones only on Saturdays and Sundays for approximately 2 hours. Parents are only allowed to access YouTube Kids application content when accompanied when accessing it. Most parents set limits due to concerns that their children will be exposed to content that is not age appropriate (containing elements of violence and pornography) which will have a negative impact on their development. However, most parents still need time and adaptation to be consistent in doing this. The biggest obstacle is not being able to control the child's emotions, even though it has been conveyed and agreed upon previously. The most common response shown by children is rejection, anger and annoyance, so parents need patience to give them understanding. Consistency in implementing restrictions needs to be done so that children avoid the negative impacts of using smartphones.
