Abstract

Effective management of cash flow is an essential element in sustaining and expanding Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Inadequate financial recording and minimal digital financial literacy contribute to the challenges faced by many MSMEs in Indonesia in managing their cash flow. This program explores the capacity of QR Code technology, specifically the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), to improve the management of cash flow in MSMEs. The objective of the study was to adopt QRIS as a digital payment system in order to enhance cash flow efficiency. A training and mentorship program was carried out for 30 MSMEs associated with the East Java IKM Forum. The program followed a five-stage approach, which included planning, execution, evaluation, feedback, and sustainability program. The findings demonstrate a notable enhancement in the digital financial literacy of the participants after the session. The integration of QRIS into the daily operations of MSMEs facilitated more efficient cash flow management and expanded consumer outreach. The implementation of QRIS technology shown its efficacy in enabling financial monitoring and broadening commercial prospects for MSMEs.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a serious health problem in Indonesia with the Aedes aegypti mosquito as the main vector. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of sugar solution-based mosquito traps in reducing mosquito populations at SD Ummu Aiman. The traps were made using simple materials and then distributed to the school's mosquito-prone areas. Socialization and education were conducted for teachers through presentations, questions and answers, and hands-on practice of making the traps. Their effectiveness was evaluated through an online questionnaire. The results showed a significant reduction in the frequency of mosquito presence after trap installation, with an increase in respondents who no longer encountered mosquitoes from 5 percent to 25 percent. 85 percent of respondents considered the traps effective and safe, and the majority were willing to implement them in their area. The program successfully increased teachers' knowledge and engagement in mosquito control, despite facing constraints such as limited time, resources, and odor from the traps. Continuous support and regular evaluation are expected to increase the effectiveness and acceptance of this innovation. The sugar solution-based mosquito trap innovation is expected to be an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for dengue vector control in schools.

Abstract

Over time, advancements in the medical field have led to a decline in public trust in herbal medicine due to the fast-acting effects of chemical drugs. However, herbal medicines generally have fewer side effects. Public awareness of health remains low, particularly in Kamanisan Village, largely due to limited knowledge. A comprehensive strategy is needed to enhance public awareness and understanding of medicinal plants. This program aims to increase public knowledge and awareness of the use of medicinal plants. The activity took place in RT.07/RW.13 Kamanisan, Curug District, involving 30 participants. It included a pre-test questionnaire, material presentation, Q&A session, and post-test. The results showed an increase in participant knowledge from 86.76 percent to 90 percent. The number of participants who strongly agreed with the use of medicinal plants (in Indonesia: TOGA) rose from 12 to 22 people. The Chi-Square test indicated a significant impact on knowledge and attitudes before and after the session. Additionally, the paired sample t-test confirmed differences in pre- and post-knowledge, pre- and post-attitude, and knowledge-to-attitude shifts. The success of this activity strengthens public awareness of TOGA as a complementary and alternative treatment for various diseases.

Abstract

The fisheries and marine sector in East Java has abundant potential, one of which is Banyuwangi district. Banyuwangi Regency has potential in freshwater aquaculture because it has 324 rivers with an area of 735 km2 and swamps and reservoirs of 60 hectares. One of the villages in Banyuwangi Regency is Segobang Village, which has the potential to have abundant water sources and continuous flow. This potential can be utilized by training and assisting fish nurseries in Segobang Village by utilizing continuously flowing water and Smart Aquaculture Automatized System (SAAS) technology by utilizing biofilters and running water and aeration as a source of oxygen.  The stages carried out in this community service are as follows: initial assessment of the location, infrastructure and technology development, periodic training and mentoring, implementation and monitoring of the cultivation process, and continued marketing and sales. After the training, the Segobang Village community showed a significant increase in knowledge. The average pre-test scores ranged from 30 to 51, while the post-test scores increased to 79 to 87. This improvement shows that participants better understand the SAAS and its use in fish farming. Continued training and practice can help strengthen the adoption of this technology in the community.

Abstract

The Village Development Index (IDM) of the North Padang Lawas Regency in 2023 remained underdeveloped. The status has been upheld since 2018, although many craft and tourism industries in North Padang Lawas Regency have the potential to contribute to the regional economy, one of which is batik small medium enterprises (SMEs). Batik SMEs in North Padang Lawas Regency are predicted to be the featured product of the regency. One of the batik SMEs, i.e., Batik Sekar Najogi, becomes the icon of North Padang Lawas Regency. However, limited knowledge and resources in developing varied batik motifs have made the batik SMEs in this regency unpopular, both provincial and national. The Abdimas Team and partners, i.e., the Department of Industry and Trade of North Padang Lawas Regency, hold training and coaching for the Symatrig computer application to develop batik motifs based on symmetrical patterns in mathematics. The application also has different motif development patterns to produce various batik motifs. Of 30 batik makers joining the training, 13 agree to utilize the Symatrig application in their businesses, while the others strongly agree. Batik makers also offer recommendations to continue conducting such activity to support those involved in the industry.
