Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Sejahtera in Kaway XIV Subdistrict, West Aceh Regency, to manage agricultural-based enterprises through the adoption of the Geraistok eco-market technology integrated with a marketing mix strategy. The program was initiated in response to the group’s limited market access, lack of modern technology adoption, and insufficient marketing strategies, which have hindered the optimal development of its creative economy potential. The activities were conducted from August to September, targeting 15 active members of KWT Sejahtera engaged in the production and marketing of agricultural products, particularly minaponic-based horticulture. The implementation method included participatory planning, preparation of sustainable materials and tools, construction of an eco-market stock outlet, training on business management, packaging innovation, flexible pricing strategies, distribution planning, and integrated online and offline promotion. The results indicated significant improvements in marketing infrastructure through a strategically located physical outlet and a digital platform that expanded market reach beyond the local area. Environmentally friendly packaging innovations and product identity labeling strengthened brand image and increased consumer appeal, particularly among the middle to upper market segments. The application of the marketing mix proved effective in boosting sales, enhancing members’ competencies, and expanding business partnerships. In the long term, this program establishes a replicable model for rural women’s empowerment that is adaptive, competitive, and sustainable. By integrating eco-market technology with modern marketing strategies, KWT Sejahtera has the potential to become a pioneer in developing an inclusive, competitive, and environmentally friendly agricultural creative economy ecosystem.

Abstract

Telukjambe Village as an industrial buffer area faces complex waste management problems where only 29% of 1200 tons of daily waste in Karawang is transported to the landfill. This condition causes accumulation of non-economic plastic waste at TPS3R which remains unoptimized and potentially pollutes the environment. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of TPS3R operators in processing non-economic plastic waste into paving blocks. The implementation methods include field observation and literature study to identify partner needs. Furthermore, demonstration workshops and hands-on practice of paving block production were conducted with evaluation using pre-test/post-test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a 74.4% participant participation rate in all practical stages. There was a 26.67% increase in knowledge measured through pre-test and post-test. N-Gain analysis showed 33.3% of participants experienced very significant improvement and 66.7% showed fairly significant improvement. Participant enthusiasm was also very high during the practical sessions as seen from active engagement in discussions. The conclusion indicates that this activity successfully enhanced the capacity of TPS3R operators in processing non-economic plastic waste into economically valuable products. This success is marked by the achievement of knowledge improvement and active participation of participants.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has brought significant transformation to the business world, including for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In Pangkalpinang City, MSMEs have begun utilizing digital platforms to expand their market reach and increase sales volume. However, on the other hand, the high activity of online transactions also opens opportunities for the emergence of digital financial crimes such as phishing, scams, and social engineering. According to data from the Pangkalpinang Resort Police, there has been a 25% increase in reported cases of digital fraud targeting MSME actors over the past year. The lack of understanding about digital security is a major factor making MSMEs vulnerable to becoming victims. Therefore, this community service activity is present as an effort to enhance the digital security literacy of MSME actors in Pangkalpinang City in facing the threats of online transaction crimes. This activity was designed with a participatory and collaborative approach, involving various stakeholders such as academics, local government, and digital security practitioners. The methods used include interactive outreach, simulation of digital fraud cases, technical training on platform security, and group-based mentoring. The participants consisted of 40 MSME actors from various sectors, including culinary, handicrafts, and services. Evaluation results showed a 78% improvement in participants' understanding based on pre-test and post-test assessments, with participants able to identify fraud modes such as phishing, scams, and social engineering. Furthermore, the formation of a WhatsApp group, the "Digital Safeguard MSME" application, and the Pangkalpinang MSME Digital Security Task Force serve as vehicles for program sustainability. This activity concludes that participatory and collaborative educational approaches with stakeholders are effective in enhancing the digital resilience of MSMEs. It is recommended to periodically expand training programs and integrate digital security policies into regional MSME development strategies.

Abstract

Global warming and the increasing demand for electricity have strengthened the urgency to introduce environmentally friendly technologies at the community level. Kebondowo Village, located in Banyubiru Sub-district, remains limited in nighttime lighting access and relies heavily on conventional electricity, indicating the need for an efficient and sustainable renewable-energy alternative. In response to this condition, Universitas Diponegoro initiated the Iptek Desa Binaan Undip (IDBU) program through the installation of solar-powered street lights across seven hamlets from July to August 2025 as an early effort to support the development of an environmentally friendly village. The objectives of this program were to improve the quality of village lighting, reduce dependence on conventional energy, increase community awareness of renewable energy use, and evaluate the level of public acceptance of the installed technology. The evaluation was conducted using surveys and semi-structured interviews with 40 adult residents, representing diverse professions and age ranges from 28 to 69 years old (mean age 48), to assess user perceptions, perceived benefits, and expectations for program sustainability. The results showed a highly positive response, with 97% of respondents agreeing with the installation of solar lighting and reporting direct benefits, including improved comfort, safety, and energy efficiency during nighttime activities. Furthermore, most residents expressed their expectation for the expansion of solar-powered street lights across all hamlets. These findings confirm that renewable-energy technology has a high level of social acceptance, effectively improves the community’s quality of life, and holds strong potential to be developed as a sustainable program based on rural community empowerment.

Abstract

Dahor Village possesses significant potential in biological resources; however, these have not been optimally utilized to support community welfare. The excessive use of chemical fertilizers has also had a negative impact on the environment and soil fertility. Limited access to quality fertilizers and a lack of skills in organic waste processing hinder agricultural productivity. The innovation of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) made from local raw materials emerges as an appropriate solution to these challenges. This activity aims to empower the community of Dahor Village through training and assistance in LOF production to enhance economic self-reliance and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The method employed involved a participatory approach through outreach, technical training, hands-on LOF production, and evaluation of activity outcomes. The participants included farmer groups, housewives, and village youth. The results showed a high level of enthusiasm from the community, demonstrated by increased knowledge and skills in producing and applying LOF. The community began reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and switching to more environmentally friendly LOF. In addition to improving crop yields, LOF is now marketed locally as a flagship village product. Household incomes increased, and awareness of organic waste management grew significantly. This initiative also strengthened community collaboration and supported a local economy based on green innovation. In conclusion, LOF innovation has proven effective in promoting sustainable agricultural practices, strengthening the village economy, and aligning with the spirit of the Merah Putih Economy and the achievement of the SDGs

Abstract

The community service program was carried out in Bunutin Village, Bangli Subdistrict, Bangli Regency, over a period of ten months, involving lecturers, students, and partners, namely local fish farmers and crop farmers. The village has great potential in catfish and tilapia aquaculture as well as in rice and peanut farming. However, it still faces several challenges, including low productivity, limited market access, and a lack of processing knowledge, resulting in production outputs that have not yet achieved optimal added value. The purpose of this activity was to focus on training in the processing of agricultural and aquaculture products as an effort to improve community welfare through the diversification of local products, specifically the production of pepes ikan nila (steamed tilapia in banana leaves). The methods used in this activity included counseling, socialization, demonstration, and direct mentoring, with evaluation conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, observations, and group discussions. Participants were equipped with skills in selecting fresh ingredients, preparing seasonings from local agricultural products, and applying modern processing and packaging techniques, including the use of vacuum and frozen packaging. The evaluation of the counseling and mentoring program on agribusiness analysis was conducted by assessing participants’ understanding through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The pre-test questionnaire was distributed before the training activity began, while the post-test was administered after the activity was completed. The evaluation results of the training on branding and digital marketing showed an increase in the average level of understanding from 46.16% (less understanding) to 53.8% (understanding). Meanwhile, the evaluation of skills in the agribusiness analysis mentoring showed improvement among participants. The pre-test and post-test results indicated that, on average, 85% of members who were previously rated as “fair” improved to 80% rated as “very good.” In conclusion, this program successfully improved participants’ knowledge and skills in processing agricultural and aquaculture products, while also opening opportunities for sustainable business development.

Abstract

MSMEs chips in Jajar Village still manually layer seasoning, resulting in long processing times, high operator workload, and inconsistent quality between batches. This community service program aims to shift the process to a hexagonal seasoning mixer while simultaneously instilling discipline in operation-maintenance (PM) SOPs to increase efficiency and quality consistency. The activity implementation method includes needs mapping, SOP-module preparation, training (theory, demonstration, practice), coaching on the production floor, and pre-post evaluation. Instruments include pre-post knowledge tests, operator skill checklists, and process indicator measurements (productivity, CV of seasoning homogeneity, seasoning defects, setup time, unplanned downtime, and SOP/K3 compliance). The results showed a relative increase in operator knowledge of 63.6% (55% → 90%) followed by simultaneous improvements in process indicators: productivity increased by 29.1% (28.5 → 36.8 kg/hour), coefficient of variation (CV) of homogeneity decreased by 35.6% (17.4% → 11.2%), seasoning defects decreased by 57.6% (8.5% → 3.6%), setup time decreased by 31.5% (16.5 → 11.3 minutes), unplanned downtime decreased by 38.7% (62 → 38 minutes/day), and SOP/K3 compliance increased by 32.4% (68 → 90). These results indicate that the combination of technology transfer, SOP standardization, preventive maintenance, and operational parameter assistance on the production floor is effective in increasing efficiency while maintaining quality consistency. This intervention is aligned with Asta Cita—specifically missions 3 (encouraging entrepreneurship and creative industries), 4 (developing human resources), 5 (downstream and industrialization), and 6 (building from villages), and supports the SDGs: SDG 8 (decent work & economic growth), SDG 9 (industry, innovation & infrastructure), SDG 12 (sustainable production & consumption), SDG 3 (health & well-being), and SDG 17 (partnerships).

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that impacts children's physical growth and cognitive development. In Mamasa Regency, the prevalence of stunting remains well above the WHO threshold, indicating the need for sustained intervention. Low nutritional knowledge and minimal use of local foods, such as tilapia, contribute to the worsening situation. Tilapia, however, boasts high nutritional content and has the potential to be an affordable and accessible nutritional solution. This activity aims to raise public awareness about stunting prevention by promoting the benefits of tilapia as a highly nutritious local food source that supports children's nutritional needs. The community service activity was carried out in Tapalinna Village using a participatory approach through observation, pre-tests, seminars, and interactive education. The main focus of the activity was promoting stunting prevention by introducing tilapia as a nutritious local food. The Community Service Program (PKM) activity demonstrated the significant potential of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) as a local protein source. Pre-tests revealed low understanding among participants about stunting and the importance of nutrition, particularly animal protein. Education through seminars and tilapia processing demonstrations successfully increased public knowledge and enthusiasm. Diversifying tilapia products is a solution to increase children's interest in consuming tilapia. Nutrition leaflets and practical recipes strengthened participants' understanding. The results of the activity demonstrated that an educational approach based on local food is effective in supporting stunting prevention. The use of tilapia as a nutritious local food increased community understanding and supported effective and sustainable stunting prevention.
