Abstract

In relation to employee performance, organizational culture has an influence on employee work commitment, namely in terms of support, similarity of values ​​and norms in the workplace, and internal employee motivation. Employee commitment is one of the most important dimensions in an organization that can be used as an indicator of assessing the tendency of employees whether they are still able to survive or not in the institution/organization. Surviving here is also directed at achieving the vision and mission of the institution. Employee commitment to survive and fight in an institution is also determined by the clarity of the vision and mission that is formed, the similarity of perception of the existing vision and mission, and the existence of clear direction from the leadership of the institution in order to condition all work programs and employee commitments towards achieving the vision and mission.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) commonly found in communities include food and beverage stalls, which contribute significantly to local economic development and job creation. Warkop DC, a coffee shop located in Surabaya, faces several operational challenges including malfunctioning cooking equipment and supporting tools, outdated and uninformative business signage, poor business management practices, and limited understanding of online marketing strategies and business hygiene standards. To address these issues, the community service team implemented comprehensive solutions including business management training, online marketing education, hygiene practice workshops, equipment replacement, and business signage redesign. The community service methodology began with problem identification through discussions, followed by field observations at Warkop DC. Based on field assessment, feasible intervention strategies were selected and implemented according to mutual agreements, followed by continuous monitoring and evaluation. The community service program was successfully executed with positive outcomes. The partner experienced significant improvements including new operational equipment, more informative business signage, enhanced marketing through WhatsApp and online platform partnerships, establishment of standardized menu listings, and implementation of daily sales recording systems.

Abstract

Low digital literacy remains a major barrier for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in utilizing social media as a marketing strategy. This community service program aimed to enhance the digital promotion skills of MSME actors in Menanggal Subdistrict, Surabaya, through TikTok-based training. The program engaged 30 business owners from various sectors. The implementation method adopted a participatory action approach through door-to-door visits, supported by interactive material delivery, hands-on content creation practice, and evaluation using pre- and post-tests. The Wilcoxon analysis showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding, with the average score rising from 51.67 to 91. The training not only provided technical skills but also fostered awareness of the importance of adapting to digital trends. These results demonstrate that practical, context-based education effectively supports the digital transformation of MSMEs. The program also highlights the role of university students as agents of change in bridging the digital divide at the grassroots level. Sustainability was strengthened through the creation of an online communication group for continued mentoring and consultation. These findings serve as a replicable model of adaptive and participatory digital training to improve MSME competitiveness in the digital economy era. Abstract

Digital economic development and environmental preservation have emerged as critical components of inclusive and sustainable community growth. The Community Service Program (KKN) held in Kelurahan Wiyung, Surabaya, aimed to explore digital economic potential while promoting eco-conscious behavior in support of SDG 8 and 11. This study applied a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing field observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The core programs included: (1) improving MSME visual identity through the development of a Graphic Standard Manual (GSM), (2) training local women’s groups in the production of eco-friendly soap using soapberries, and (3) enhancing business visibility through Google Maps digitalization. The findings revealed improved community competencies in digital branding, marketing, and sustainable business practices. The high level of participation among community members reflected the effectiveness of the participatory approach. Overall, this program succeeded in not only offering immediate benefits but also fostering long-term digital and environmental awareness among local businesses.

Abstract

Community Service plays a strategic role in enhancing human resources through arts and cultural activities that support organizational professionalism. This PKM program on choir and conducting was implemented in the Fatayat NU LKK Pare branch, aiming to improve musical and leadership skills among women cadres. The objectives were: (1) to develop a trained cadre of female choir and conductor members capable of supporting organizational and religious events; (2) to strengthen vocational skills in the field of music and culture through structured and applicable training; and (3) to establish a sustainable system of artistic-musical cadre development. The program involved 120 participants through a two-day intensive workshop and one-month online mentoring. The results demonstrated significant improvements in vocal quality, conducting skills, teamwork, and organizational professionalism. Moreover, the program fostered women empowerment and cultural preservation in local communities. This study concludes that choir and conductor training not only enhances artistic competence but also promotes leadership, teamwork, and organizational sustainability within religious-based women organizations.

Abstract

Strengthening digital financial literacy is an urgent need in the 21st-century education ecosystem, as teachers play a strategic role both as facilitators of learning and as managers of school financial administration. This community service program aimed to enhance teachers’ knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy in utilizing simple digital technology based on Google Sheets for cash recording, budgeting, and financial reporting. The partner of this program was SDN 1 Kemantren, Jabung, Malang Regency, with active participation from teachers as participants. The implementation methods included socialization, workshops, practicum, and mentoring, which were systematically arranged to provide hands-on experience, repeated practice, and structured feedback. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ conceptual understanding, their ability to prepare monthly financial reports, and their collaborative skills in developing digital recording templates. These findings demonstrate that digital financial literacy not only strengthens technical competencies but also contributes to the development of 21st-century skills (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication). The implication is that digital financial literacy should be systematically integrated into school curricula and teacher professional development programs, so that these best practices can be expanded to other schools and foster a financial literacy culture that is adaptive to technological advancements in education.

Abstract

This service aims to design and modify a cooking oil strainer that meets the needs of UMKM in Grogol Jombang Village to improve product quality. The main problem faced by partners is the limited capacity of the straining tool, which can only hold 2.5–5 kg per process, thereby hindering production efficiency. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) through observation, discussion, design using software, and participatory evaluation with SME actors. The results of the service indicate that the design modification of the cooking oil strainer is capable of being a solution to the problems experienced by UMKM in Grogol Jombang Village. Thus, the design modification of this tool contributes to the improvement of quality, quantity, productivity, and competitiveness of UMKM in Grogol Village

Abstract

Carangrejo Village, a participant in the Desa Berseri (Sparkling Village) and Kampung Berseri Astra (Astra's Sparkling Village) programs, is active in waste management through its TPS3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Waste Management Site). A key obstacle in the composting process is the suboptimal performance of the screening machine, which causes slow drum rotation, noisy operation due to friction, and low production capacity (8-10 kg/day). Community Service to modify and optimize the organic waste screening machine to improve process efficiency. The method used is design engineering through literature study and direct field observation. The research resulted in a modification design that involves adding a rail to the lip of the drum's input hole. This modification successfully reduced direct friction between the drum and the bearing, resulting in smoother and faster drum rotation. The implications of this optimization include increased production capacity, shorter operational time, reduced vibration and noise, and prevention of machine overheating. Thus, this modification can support Carangrejo Village's organic waste management program to become more efficient and sustainable.

Abstract

Food self-sufficiency is a priority program of the central government, and Lamongan Regency, as the largest rice producer in East Java, contributing 8.2% of the province's total production, plays a crucial role. However, challenges include a declining workforce, high cost of rice planting machines, and short seedlings, typically 10-13 cm in length. This requires water to be removed during planting until the seedlings reach a height of around 20 cm. This leads to overgrowth of grass, as the rice seeds are not adequately irrigated. To address these issues, it is necessary to disseminate appropriate technology, specifically the rice transplanter machines, to increase crop productivity. The method used is action research, which involves taking action based on observations and discussions with partners. The results of this activity indicate that the use of rice planting machines can increase crop productivity from 0.1 ha/day to 1.15 ha/day, an 11-fold increase. It is hoped that the rice transplanter machine will help farmers overcome the decreasing number of workers and support the government's food self-sufficiency, especially in Lamongan Regency, which is one of the rice-producing areas in East Java.

Abstract

The development of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) networks in the telecommunications sector carries significant occupational safety and health (OSH) risks due to field activities and the use of technical equipment. This community service aims to promote and implement an OSH culture in the FTTH project of PT. Garuda Media Telematika in Jombang Regency, East Java. To assess the effectiveness of the awareness program, qualitative descriptive analysis was employed through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results indicate that worker participation in OSH awareness sessions reached 90.91%, with full compliance in using helmets and safety vests but lower adherence to wearing gloves (75%) and safety shoes (87.5%). Field observations revealed that OSH practices are in the moderate-to-good category, with main challenges including limited involvement of contract technicians, availability of certain personal protective equipment (PPE), and project target pressures. Management commitment, the existence of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the role of supervisors were identified as key supporting factors, while technicians’ perception of OSH importance still requires improvement. These findings highlight the need for onboarding training, provision of ergonomic PPE, and strengthening the OSH culture through supervision and exemplary leadership. Implementing these recommendations is expected to enhance workplace safety and ensure the sustainable quality of FTTH projects.
