Abstract

This article aims to describe the design for developing and evaluating the media for learning with a collaborative-contextual model in improving the reading skills and bilingual abilities of early childhood in the Sukorambi Islamic Kindergarten (TK), Jember Regency. This research uses a qualitative type with a descriptive exploratory approach—data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The data were then analyzed using the stages of domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and cultural theme analysis with the validity of the data, the credibility of the triangulation method and sources, and confirmability. Based on the research findings, it was concluded that the six stages in the design of contextual-collaborative assured-based learning program development in improving reading skills and bilingual communication skills are as follows: Analysis of Early-Age Learners as Digital Natives: Determining learning objectives, selecting methods, media, and materials (including the application of student-centered methods, developing an Outline of Content for Podcast Media, creating Podcast Media Scripts, and formulating Bilingual Learning Implementation Plans). Utilizing media and teaching materials involves reviewing and preparing materials, establishing conducive learning environments, engaging learners, and ensuring enriching learning experiences. Additionally, active learner involvement and thorough evaluation are essential components.

The subjects of the study are final-year students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Mulawarman University, consisting of cohorts from 2016-2021, selected using a random sampling technique. The data are collected through scales of work readiness, proactive personality, and psychological capital. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The collected data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (S.P.S.S.) program version 26.0 for Windows. This study's results indicate a significant influence of proactive personality and psychological capital on work readiness, as shown by the major hypothesis results: F = 21.291, R² = 0.428, and p = 0.000. This study concludes that there is a significant influence between proactive personality and psychological capital on work readiness.

This study aims to investigate the impact of perceived social support and academic stress on subjective well-being. This research method uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 83 students of Faculty Pharmacy X University who were selected by simple random sampling technique. The data collection method used was the subjective well-being scale, social support, and academic stress. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression.  The results showed that: (1) there is an influence of social support and academic stress on subjective well-being with the value of F count = 9.367 > F table = 3.11 and p value = 0.000 and has an influence contribution (R2) of 18.6%; (2) there is no significant influence of social support on subjective well-being with a beta coefficient value (β) = 0. 141, t count = 1.284 < t table = 1.989, and p value 0.202 (p > 0.05); (3) there is a positive and significant effect of academic stress on subjective well-being with a beta coefficient value (β) = 0.353, t count = 3.202 > t table = 1.989, and p value 0.002 (p < 0.05). The conclusion in this study is that there is a significant influence between social support and academic stress on students' subjective well-being.

Abstract

This research examines leadership innovation at Ibadurrahman Modern Islamic Boarding School, focusing on transitioning from traditional to modern education. The research used a qualitative case study approach, with in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The research findings show that Kiai applies visionary, democratic, paternalistic, and spiritual leadership styles that create an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and innovation. Democratic leadership enables active participation in decision-making, while paternalistic leadership strengthens the emotional bond between Kiai and staff, creating a harmonious working environment. In addition, the integration of spiritual leadership helps maintain a balance between traditional religious values and modern educational needs. Modernization efforts include adopting technology, multilingual education, and incorporating Islamic perspectives in science, which provide students with essential skills to face global challenges. Conflict management is also done through deliberation, which ensures harmony amid change. In conclusion, leadership innovation at Ibadurrahman Modern Islamic Boarding School successfully bridges tradition and modernity, offering a model for another Islamic boarding school in the face of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the planning and implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in shaping the Pancasila student profile. Employing a qualitative research design with descriptive analysis, the subjects included curriculum vice principals, project teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum is at a developing stage, 1) Curriculum planning carried out at the start of the academic year 2022/2023 following a prepared workflow. The school extensively improvises government-provided guidelines in developing the operational curriculum and project modules to better meet student and industry needs. 2) The instructional approach at SMK PK Krian 2 is project-based, with the implementation of (Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dan Budaya Kerja: P5BK) using monthly blocks to replace intracurricular learning hours after (Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah: MPLS) activities, covering five themes to achieve the six dimensions of the Pancasila student profile. Assessment results show that students are progressing towards the goals set in the project modules, yet the full formation of the Pancasila student profile is not yet achieved due to the novelty of the projects. However, educators are optimistic that the Merdeka curriculum will foster changes in student attitudes and is most suitable for the school's conditions.

Abstract

This study examines the role of extracurricular activities at Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in strengthening student character and the strategies implemented to achieve this goal. Employing qualitative methods such as interviews with key stakeholders and direct observations, the research highlights the significant impact of activities like scouting, Pagar Nusa martial arts, Palang Merah Remaja, rebana, and calligraphy in fostering values such as discipline, leadership, and empathy among students. Key strategies include embedding character values into the extracurricular curriculum, training program managers, diversifying activities to enhance student participation, and garnering support from families and communities. The findings reveal that structured and purposeful extracurricular programs effectively contribute to students’ character development. Leadership activities, humanitarian involvement, and cultural preservation impact essential values. Despite its contributions, the study acknowledges limitations, including small sample size, focus on a single institution, and lack of analysis across different age groups, student levels, or gender. The reliance on qualitative methods also suggests the need for further research involving broader and more varied samples, exploration of diverse educational settings, and a mixed-methods approach. These findings underscore the potential of extracurricular activities as a strategic avenue for character education in Islamic boarding schools.
