Abstract

Adolescents are an age group vulnerable to emotional pressure that can affect eating patterns, one of which is emotional eating—eating behavior in response to negative emotions. In semi-urban areas like Lamongan, this phenomenon has begun to emerge, but there has been limited education or screening related to it. The initiative aims to enhance adolescents' understanding of emotional eating, its causes and impacts, and to equip them with adaptive emotion regulation strategies through counseling and screening activities. Screening was conducted on 870 grade 10–11 students at SMAN 1 Lamongan using the EADESS questionnaire to assess the likelihood of emotional eating behavior. A total of 865 questionnaires were valid for analysis. The results showed that 100% of respondents experienced emotional eating at varying levels of severity: 83.35% mild, 13.53% moderate, 1.85% severe, and 1.27% very severe. Emotional eating was more prevalent among students who were overweight or obese. Emotional eating is a significant issue among high school adolescents. Counseling and screening have proven to be an important initial step in raising students’ awareness and understanding of the connection between emotions and eating behavior. Further education and accessible mental health services within schools are needed.

Abstract

This community service program aims to transform entrepreneurship education through the synergy between academic institutions and the industrial sector to foster sustainable business growth. The international collaboration between Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), Indonesia, and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, serves as a strategic foundation for designing adaptive, innovative, and relevant educational approaches that respond to modern business challenges. The program focuses on enhancing students’ competencies in business leadership, digital marketing strategies, financial management, and professional networking. The activities are conducted through training sessions, mentoring, and hands-on guidance involving lecturers and industry practitioners as main facilitators. The program takes place at the UNJ campus, engaging students from diverse entrepreneurial backgrounds. Evaluation is carried out through pre- and post-surveys to measure competence improvement, as well as through tangible outputs such as training documentation, scientific articles, and educational video recordings. Preliminary results indicate an increased understanding among participants regarding business digitalization, the use of technology in business management, and their readiness to adapt within the global entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program also supports the achievement of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by empowering students to create independent and sustainable employment opportunities. By employing a student- and industry-oriented approach, this initiative not only provides short-term competency improvement but also contributes to developing a collaborative entrepreneurship education model that can be replicated in other academic institutions.

Abstract

The implementation of Community Service (PKM) aims to carry out socio-economic transformation of vulnerable families through education and participatory actions of the congregation of the Indonesian Bethel Church (GBI) Tumbang Rungan Palangka Raya. Congregation members who fall into the category of socio-economically vulnerable families need to receive special attention from the church. This special service is a form of needs-based service, which focuses not only on spiritual services but also on education and economics. The specific targets of this PKM are: (1) Providing an understanding of the congregation about the importance of Socio-Economic Transformation, (2) Providing social education and economic literacy training for vulnerable families in GBI Tumbang Rungan, and (3) Increasing the role and participatory actions of the Congregation in GBI Tumbang Rungan. The proposed activity plan includes a series of workshops and focus group discussions to identify the socio-economic needs of vulnerable families, conducting education and congregation participation adapted from the results of the workshops, and evaluating the impact of this program on congregation attendance at Sunday services. This study used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which actively involved the congregation in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. With this approach, it is hoped that the socio-economic transformation program for vulnerable families, through education and participatory action by the GBI Tumbang Rungan Palangka Raya congregation, will improve their well-being and strengthen their bond with the church community. Abstract

Communal Intellectual Property (CIP) embodies the collective cultural identity that has been passed down through generations within local communities. Nevertheless, limited legal awareness among entrepreneurs and local producers often hinders the optimal protection and utilization of CIP’s cultural and economic value. This community engagement initiative seeks to improve public understanding of the legal aspects surrounding CIP protection, focusing on the Geographical Indication (GI) framework as a legal tool for safeguarding regional products. The program took place at the Grand Mercure Hotel in Medan, in partnership with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of North Sumatra, and was broadcast widely through Radio Move Online to ensure broader public outreach. Employing a participatory approach, the program included legal dissemination sessions, educational workshops, and interactive discussions that brought together MSME actors, academics, and local government representatives. The materials addressed the legal foundation of Geographical Indications as stipulated in Law No. 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications, procedural steps for registration, and the economic and reputational advantages for local communities. The outcomes indicated that participants developed a stronger comprehension of the interconnection between CIP and GI, alongside heightened legal consciousness in protecting local products through formal mechanisms. In conclusion, the program successfully enhanced community legal capacity and promoted broader awareness of Communal Intellectual Property protection across North Sumatra.

Abstract

The collaborative model-based development of Student Worksheets (LKPD) for Mathematics using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach aims to improve teachers' ability to design LKPD that are contextual and meaningful, and encourage active student collaboration. This mentoring program is implemented through several stages: identifying teacher needs, training in developing RMR-based LKPD, mentoring in the design and testing process, and reflecting on implementation results. The methods used in this activity include workshops, group discussions, observations, and evaluation of teacher work. The mentoring program results indicate that teachers gained an increased understanding of PMR principles and improved their ability to develop LKPD that emphasize active student involvement in real-world problem-solving through group collaboration. Furthermore, the resulting LKPD were deemed valid and suitable for use based on expert assessment and positive student feedback. Thus, this mentoring program contributes to improving the quality of mathematics learning materials in schools and supports the implementation of more innovative, collaborative, and contextual learning.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum requires teachers to create innovative and interactive learning processes, but the limitations of interesting media and strategies are often a challenge, especially in areas with limited access. This service activity aims to increase the professional capacity of 30 teachers from SMPN 49 and SMPN 53 Central Maluku in integrating board games as an effective learning medium and supporting the creation of Deep Learning. The method of implementing the activity is centralized training (hands-on workshop) and subject group assistance which is carried out for 1 day with a total duration of 3 hours. This training focused on sample board game analysis (My Favorite and Word Brick) and a prototype design mini-workshop by seven subject groups. The results of the evaluation showed a very satisfactory level of participant satisfaction with an average score of 3.75 out of a scale of 4.0, indicating that the applicable training method was in accordance with the needs of the teacher. In addition, 85% of participants stated that there was a significant increase in knowledge and self-efficacy on the potential of board games as a teaching medium. The concrete output produced is 7 board game prototypes that are ready to be implemented. The main benefit obtained is the diversification of teachers' learning strategies. In conclusion, this training successfully equips teachers with new skills in designing effective interactive media and makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of teaching at partner schools.
