Abstract

This community service article describes a Ramadhan sharing program conducted at Miftahul Jannah Orphanage as a form of social solidarity, faith-based philanthropy, and child-centered community engagement. The program was designed to strengthen care, emotional support, and social connectedness for orphanage children through coordinated assistance, educational reflection, iftar sharing, and interactive engagement with caregivers and volunteers. The method used a descriptive-participatory community service approach consisting of needs identification, program planning, implementation, and reflective evaluation. Data were obtained from field observation, informal dialogue, documentation, and reflection notes. The results indicate that the program contributed to a warmer social atmosphere, improved volunteer awareness of child welfare issues, and strengthened collaboration between the service team and orphanage caregivers. The activity also demonstrated that Ramadhan can become a meaningful moment for integrating charitable giving with educational and psychosocial support. The article recommends that similar programs should be implemented sustainably through needs-based planning, ethical communication with children, and follow-up partnerships rather than one-time ceremonial donation activities.

Abstract

This article examines the Ramadan community-service program entitled Miftahul Jannah Cahaya Ramadan Orphanage: Together Reaching Blessings as a child-centered social initiative that integrates spiritual education, psychosocial support, Islamic philanthropy, and collaborative volunteerism. The program was designed to create a joyful, dignified, and educational Ramadan experience for children living in orphanage care while strengthening partnerships between caregivers, volunteers, donors, and local communities. A descriptive community-service approach was used through needs assessment, program planning, implementation, observation, reflection, and follow-up recommendation. The findings indicate that Ramadan service activities can support children’s emotional well-being, social connectedness, religious literacy, and sense of recognition when they are organized through ethical communication, participatory engagement, and sustainable partnership. The study also shows that charity-based Ramadan programs should move beyond one-time donation delivery toward relational care, educational enrichment, and accountable community collaboration. The article contributes a practical model for orphanage-based Ramadan service that places children’s dignity, happiness, and development at the center of Islamic social responsibility.

Abstract

This article discusses a Ramadan community-service program conducted at Miftahul Jannah Orphanage as a child-centered initiative that integrates Islamic philanthropy, psychosocial support, educational engagement, and joyful worship experiences. The program was developed to respond to the need for meaningful social support among children in alternative care, where material assistance alone is insufficient to strengthen emotional security, dignity, and social connectedness. Using a descriptive qualitative community-service approach, the activity was organized through preliminary coordination, needs identification, participatory preparation, Ramadan sharing, educational games, reflective dialogue, iftar gathering, and post-activity evaluation. Data were interpreted from field observation, documentation, volunteer reflection, and informal feedback from caregivers and children. The results show that a well-structured Ramadan activity can create a warm social atmosphere, support children’s confidence, encourage positive peer interaction, and improve volunteer awareness of ethical service. The study contributes a practical model for faith-based community engagement that emphasizes accountability, child protection, educational value, and sustainable relationships. The program demonstrates that Ramadan social service should not be limited to charity distribution, but should also build inclusive spaces where children are recognized as capable, valued, and great individuals.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) produce fashion, culinary, and other creative products that require clear legal protection, particularly for trademarks. This article examines the importance of trademark registration for MSME actors and the legal protection available to registered trademark owners in Indonesia. The discussion is based on relevant statutory provisions, literature, and data concerning trademarks and MSMEs. The analysis shows that trademarks function as distinguishing signs, product and business identities, and instruments that strengthen consumer trust. However, digital business development also creates opportunities for unauthorized use, piracy, and even prior registration by irresponsible parties, which may reduce market prices, consumer confidence, and sales turnover. Registration with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property provides legal certainty, exclusive rights, authentic evidence of ownership, a basis for rejecting similar applications, and a basis for preventing unauthorized use. Registered trademarks are protected for ten years from the filing date and may be renewed. Therefore, early trademark registration is a preventive measure that enables MSMEs to avoid disputes, strengthen their bargaining position, and expand business opportunities.

Abstract

Women play a crucial role in the household economy, but the majority still face obstacles to limited access to technology, low financial literacy, weak business governance, and lack of product innovation. The Community Service Program (PKM) aims to overcome these problems. Economic empowerment is one of the important strategies in improving the welfare of the community, including the church community. The church not only serves as a center for spiritual formation, but also has a strategic role in developing the economic capacity of the congregation through the formation of professionally managed business groups. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to increase the congregation's understanding of effective business group governance so that it is able to create sustainable economic independence. The methods used include counseling, interactive discussions, case studies, and assistance in preparing business plans. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of business governance principles, business group organizational structure, financial recording system, and business development strategies. This program is expected to be the foundation in building church business groups that are transparent, accountable, productive, and able to improve the welfare of the congregation.

Abstract

Abstract: Online job vacancy fraud is a form of cybercrime that exploits the development of digital media and the high demand for jobs in society. Low legal and digital literacy levels cause people to become victims of various fraudulent methods, such as online job vacancies, misuse of personal data, and use of company identities. This Community Service Activity aims to increase public understanding of legal protection against online job vacancy fraud through legal counseling and digital literacy education. The implementation of the activity was carried out with a participatory approach through material delivery, discussions, and questions and answers that actively involved the community. The results of the activity showed that participants gained a better understanding of how to recognize the characteristics of official job vacancies, verify recruitment information, maintain the security of personal data, and understand the legal remedies that can be taken if they become victims of fraud. This activity is expected to increase legal awareness and digital literacy in the community as a preventive measure in minimizing the risk of online job vacancy fraud.

Abstract

The availability of a laboratory that supports the characteristics of practical learning is an important factor in developing students’ competencies in Building Design, Modeling, and Information (DPIB). This community service activity aimed to develop a functional and comfortable DPIB laboratory design at SMK Negeri 5 Padang to support technology-based learning. The activity employed a participatory and user-centered design approach through several stages, including existing-condition observation, identification of partner needs, conceptual design, design development, validation, and finalization. The activity resulted in a laboratory design with an area of approximately 270 m², integrating a planning and model-making practice area, instructor room, computer-based design practice area, circulation system, lighting, ventilation, electrical facilities, and digital learning support. The proposed design provides the school with a technical reference for developing a more structured DPIB laboratory that is aligned with the needs of vocational learning.

Abstract

The Kelurahan Cantik (Love Statistics Urban Village) Program is an initiative of the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS) aimed at enhancing the capacity of urban village officials in managing statistical data as a foundation for evidence-based development planning and policymaking. At the same time, the relatively low levels of financial and investment literacy among the community remain significant challenges that require continuous educational efforts. Therefore, this Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) was conducted to improve the statistical literacy of urban village officials and enhance public understanding of financial and investment literacy through collaboration among STIE Bina Karya, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Tebing Tinggi City, and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The program was implemented on July 14, 2026, at the Padang Hulu District Office Hall, Tebing Tinggi City, involving district officials, urban village officials, statistical agents, Statistics Corner (Pojok Statistik) ambassadors, and community representatives from Pabatu, Padang Merbau, and Tualang Urban Villages. The implementation methods included preparation, socialization, lectures, technical training, mentoring, statistical data presentation practices, interactive discussions, and activity evaluation. The results demonstrated that participants gained a better understanding of statistical data management and presentation techniques, recognized the importance of utilizing data as a basis for development planning, and improved their knowledge of the capital market, legal investment instruments, investment benefits, and investment risks. Overall, the program successfully strengthened collaboration among higher education institutions, government agencies, and financial institutions in promoting data-driven community empowerment.
