Abstract

Leadership in the world of education plays a very vital role in creating a conducive learning environment, improving the quality of teaching, and ensuring the welfare of all parties involved, especially teachers. At Mekar Arum Bandung High School, the leadership transformation carried out by the principal and foundation aims to improve various important aspects, including school infrastructure, teacher professionalism and their welfare. Synergy between school principals and foundations is the main key in realizing this change. Leadership transformation in educational institutions plays a very important role in encouraging the creation of a conducive learning environment and improving the quality of education. Currently, the challenges faced by schools in Indonesia are increasingly complex. One of the main challenges is meeting the need for adequate facilities, both in terms of physical facilities and technology, to support 21st century learning. In addition, demands for teacher professionalism are increasing along with the development of the curriculum and the increasingly diverse needs of students. On the other hand, teacher welfare is often an issue that does not receive serious attention, even though this welfare has a direct impact on their motivation and performance.Mekar Arum Bandung High School is one of the schools that has great potential to develop through close collaboration between the principal as operational leader and the foundation as strategic policy holder. However, this leadership transformation process cannot be free from various obstacles, such as budget limitations, differences in vision between leaders, and the dynamics of the relationship between school principals and foundations. Therefore, good strategy and synergy are needed to ensure that leadership transformation can run effectively. This research aims to examine how the leadership transformation that exists between the principal and the foundation at Mekar Arum Bandung High School can contribute to improving school infrastructure, developing teacher professionalism, and improving the welfare of teaching staff. By understanding the existing dynamics and challenges, it is hoped that the results of this research can provide applicable recommendations to strengthen leadership synergy to achieve quality education goals.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the competencies of SDN Julang teachers in optimizing the potential of students with special needs (ABK) through the Game and Educational Tool for Talent Development (GENTA). Using a participatory action research approach, 52 participants (teachers and parents) were trained via workshops and mentoring. Pre- and post-test results showed a 40.7% improvement in understanding ABK concepts, a 56.6% increase in digital media use, and a 63.6% enhancement in implementing GENTA. Qualitative data indicated that 90% of teachers found GENTA effective in increasing ABK students’ motivation. Additionally, students exhibited significant progress in focus and social engagement. This program demonstrates the efficacy of integrating educational games to foster inclusive education and highlights the need for ongoing training to ensure sustainability.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, known as pesantren, play a crucial role as Islamic educational institutions in shaping students' character, knowledge, and skills to face future challenges. These institutions have a long-standing tradition rich in Islamic values, discipline, and independence, which are deeply embedded in their daily practices. Pesantren not only focuses on providing religious education but also emphasizes moral, social, and life skills relevant to contemporary needs. The holistic approach of pesantren nurtures students' spiritual, intellectual, and social development, fostering a balance between academic knowledge and moral integrity. Furthermore, the pesantren environment encourages strong discipline and self-reliance, shaping students to become resilient and adaptable individuals. This article explores the unique traditions of Islamic boarding schools and their influence on students' development, analyzing the implications for their future roles in society as leaders, professionals, and morally responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities and beyond.

Abstract

Education is social engineering that is regularly and measurably oriented towards the social changes in society. Therefore, educational practice cannot be separated from the process of social transformation that shapes and prepares individuals to become members of society. In reality, education is like an ivory tower that is alienated from the social reality of society and therefore cannot contribute to social change. This research criticizes educational practices based on Jürgen Hubermas' theory of social criticism, which tends to view education as a conservative-formalistic process. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literary studies approach. The research findings explain that there are two discussions in the study namely; First, the critical theoretical reflection on Jürgen Hubermas's pedagogical practice. That Habermas' communication theory can be understood in educational practice as a process of social transformation. In education, students are positioned as autonomous subjects who have a relationship between educators and students as subjects. Since education is fundamentally a process of constructive individual change, the educational practice paradigm is geared towards intersubjective-emanative relationship patterns. Second, related to the discussion about measuring the role of education in social reconstruction from the perspective of Jürgen Habermas, education is fundamentally a social instrument that plays a role in shaping changes in the social life of society. The role of education cannot be separated from the context of social change, therefore educational practice is part of social engineering regularly aimed at preparing students to become members of society.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of digital media, especially learning videos and educational game applications, in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts at SD Negeri 101/II Bungo. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, as well as direct observation of learning activities involving digital media. Data analysis was carried out using reduction, display, and verification techniques to identify the main themes that emerged from interviews and observations. The results show that digital media, especially learning videos and game applications, can increase student engagement, make it easier for them to understand mathematical concepts, and increase learning motivation. Students who use this media are more active and have a deeper understanding compared to students who use conventional learning methods. The implications of this study show that the use of digital media in mathematics learning can be an effective solution to improve the quality of education, especially in areas with limited resources. The research also provides new insights into the role of technology in primary education, and encourages further development of the use of digital media for more holistic learning.
