Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease with a very significant increase in prevalence resulting in high morbidity and mortality. In diabetes, uncontrolled blood sugar levels are the main factor that worsens the disease. Therefore, controlling blood glucose levels in patients is important. High blood sugar levels are caused by many factors, ranging from behavioral factors such as sleep patterns, level of knowledge, and medication adherence, which are also suspected to play a role in glycemic control. This study aims to analyze the effect of sleep patterns, level of knowledge, and medication adherence on blood glucose levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus at RSUD Kota Madiun. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach involving 130 respondents selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and random blood glucose test results, and analyzed using the Chi-Square test and ordinal logistic regression. The results showed a significant effect between sleep patterns (p=0.000), level of knowledge (p=0.004), and medication adherence (p=0.000) on blood glucose levels. Multivariate analysis showed that sleep patterns were the most dominant variable (p=0.011), followed by medication adherence (p=0.034), while level of knowledge was not significant after being controlled together with other variables. The Nagelkerke R-Square value of 0.978 indicates that 97.8% of the variation in blood glucose levels can be explained by these three variables. It is concluded that sleep patterns and medication adherence have a significant effect on blood glucose levels, with sleep patterns as the most dominant factor.

Abstract

Malnutrition among toddlers is still a public health problem in Indonesia. Malnutrition in toddlers can affect morbidity and mortality rates. The high level of morbidity in malnourished toddlers is caused by decreased energy. The body is resistant due to its inability to form antibodies in sufficient quantities. The macronutrient that functions to form antibodies is protein, apart from that protein is also needed for growth and development. Research by Erika, et al (2020) shows that malnourished toddlers do not consume protein according to their needs.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that requires continuous management. Blood glucose control is strongly influenced by lifestyle factors, including diet, physical activity, and medication adherence. This study aimed to analyze the effect of diet, physical activity, and medication adherence on blood glucose levels among diabetes mellitus patients participating in the Prolanis program at Denkesyah Clinic, Madiun, East Java. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study at Denkesyah Clinic Madiun, from June to July 2025. A total of 69 respondents were purposively selected from 224 Prolanis participants. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and fasting blood glucose measurements. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to determine the associations between variables. Results: Diet was categorized as good (37.7%), physical activity as moderate (34.8%), medication adherence as high (43.5%), and blood glucose as abnormal (50.7%). Regression analysis revealed significant associations between diet (p=0.030), physical activity (p=0.001), and medication adherence (p=0.000) with blood glucose. Medication adherence was the most influential factor (highest Beta). Conclusions: Diet, physical activity, and medication adherence significantly affect blood glucose control, with adherence to medication being the strongest determinant. Strengthening education and adherence monitoring within the Prolanis program is essential for achieving optimal glycemic control.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension remains a major global health problem and one of the leading risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Both non-modifiable and modifiable factors, such as stress, diet, and obesity, play a crucial role in its development. In Indonesia, hypertension continues to account for a high burden of morbidity, with an increasing prevalence reported in Madiun. This study aimed to analyze the association of stress, dietary patterns, and body mass index (BMI) with hypertension among patients at Denkesyah Clinic, Madiun, East Java. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional study conducted at Denkesyah Clinic, Madiun, East Java, in October 2024. A total of 87 respondents were selected using purposive sampling from patients enrolled in the chronic disease management program (Prolanis). Data on stress were collected using the Self Reporting Questionnaire-20 (SRQ-20), dietary patterns were assessed with a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), and body mass index (BMI) was calculated using weight and height measurements. Hypertension was defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic ≥90 mmHg. Data analysis included univariate, bivariate (Chi-square test), and multivariate logistic regression. Results: The study found that 52.9% of respondents experienced high stress levels, 59.8% had poor dietary patterns, and 44.8% were obese. Stress, poor dietary pattern, and elevated BMI were all significantly associated with hypertension (p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that BMI was the most dominant risk factor, with an odds ratio indicating that obese individuals were more likely to develop hypertension compared to those with normal BMI. Conclusions: Stress, dietary pattern, and BMI significantly are associated with hypertension, with BMI being the strongest predictor. Public health interventions should focus on promoting healthy dietary habits, stress management, and weight control strategies to reduce the burden of hypertension in the community.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Patient loyalty plays a crucial role in the sustainability of physiotherapy services, especially amid increasing demands for high-quality and patient-centered care. Key determinants such as service quality, patient satisfaction, and trust are often identified as essential components in fostering long-term relationships between patients and healthcare providers. However, empirical evidence examining the interplay among these variables within physiotherapy clinic settings remains limited. This study aims to examine the relationship between service quality, patient satisfaction, and trust toward patient loyalty at the Bebas Cedera Physiotherapy Clinic in South Tangerang (Telkom BSD).A quantitative research design was employed using accidental sampling, involving 109 participants. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and mediation testing through PROCESS Macro Model 4. The study assessed the influence of service quality, patient satisfaction, and trust on patient loyalty. The results indicate that both service quality and trust have a positive and significant effect on patient loyalty. Patient satisfaction, while positive, shows an insignificant influence. Furthermore, patient satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between service quality or trust and patient loyalty. These findings highlight trust as the most dominant factor shaping patient loyalty. Trust emerges as a key determinant of patient loyalty in physiotherapy services. Enhancing communication, empathy, and consistent service delivery is recommended to strengthen long-term patient–clinic relationships. Keywords: Physiotherapy, Patient Satisfaction, Patient Trust, Patient Loyalty, Service Quality.
