Abstract

ABSTRACT Nurses performance is a key indicator of nursing service quality and patient safety in hospitals. From a nursing management perspective, nurses’ performance is influenced by various internal organizational factors, including organizational culture, leadership style, and work motivation. Although these factors are theoretically assumed to play an important role in shaping nurses’ behavior and performance, empirical findings remain inconsistent, particularly in private hospital settings. This study aimed to analyze the influence of organizational culture, leadership style, and work motivation on nurses’ performance at Siloam Manado Hospital. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 110 nurses were selected as respondents using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using dummy linear regression, preceded by classical assumption tests including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and linearity tests. The simultaneous test results indicated that organizational culture, leadership style, and work motivation did not have a significant joint effect on nurses’ performance (p 0.05). Partial analysis also revealed that each independent variable did not significantly influence nurses’ performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.034, indicating that the regression model explained only 3.4% of the variance in nurses’ performance. In conclusion, nurses’ performance at Siloam Manado Hospital appears to be relatively stable and not significantly influenced by organizational culture, leadership style, or work motivation. This finding may be attributed to the strong implementation of standardized operating procedures and structured work systems, which minimize performance variation attributable to internal organizational factors. Keywords: Leadership Style, Nurses Performance, Organizational Culture, Work Motivation.

Abstract

Background: CPR quality and resuscitation self-efficacy are critical for successful cardiac arrest management. Structured debriefing and supportive learning environments are hypothesized to enhance these outcomes.  Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the associations between post-resuscitation debriefing and the clinical learning environment with CPR quality and resuscitation self-efficacy.  Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted at the Emergency Department of Undata Hospital. All eligible healthcare workers (n = 51) were recruited using total sampling. Data on post-resuscitation debriefing, clinical learning environment, CPR quality, and resuscitation self-efficacy were collected using validated questionnaires and observation sheets. Bivariate analysis was performed using Spearman's rank correlation test. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to identify predictors of CPR quality and resuscitation self-efficacy, controlling for age, work experience, and profession. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results: Post-resuscitation debriefing was significantly associated with CPR quality (rho = 0.412, p = 0.003) and resuscitation self-efficacy (rho = 0.523, p < 0.001). The clinical learning environment was also significantly associated with CPR quality (rho = 0.456, p = 0.001) and resuscitation self-efficacy (rho = 0.389, p = 0.005). Multiple linear regression analysis identified post-resuscitation debriefing as the strongest predictor of CPR quality (beta = 0.398, p = 0.002) and resuscitation self-efficacy (beta = 0.467, p < 0.001), after controlling for confounding variables.  Conclusion: Structured post-resuscitation debriefing and a positive clinical learning environment are significantly associated with improved technical skills and professional confidence among healthcare workers. Implementing standardized debriefing may be an effective strategy for enhancing resuscitation performance in emergency settings.

Abstract

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neuropsychiatric disorder in children, characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which significantly impact daily functioning. Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is often observed in children with ADHD, affecting their ability to process and respond to sensory stimuli appropriately. Sensory integration therapy and treadmill exercise have been suggested as potential interventions to improve sensory processing and behavioral regulation in children with ADHD. This study aims to evaluate the effect of sensory integration therapy combined with treadmill exercise on sensory processing and behavior in children with ADHD. This was an experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design was conducted with 61 children diagnosed with ADHD. Participants underwent sensory integration therapy and treadmill exercise. Sensory processing and behavioral outcomes were measured using standardized assessments before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed a significant improvement in sensory processing, with pre-test sensory scores averaging 97.62 and post-test scores increasing to 152.90 (p = 0.000). Behavioral outcomes also improved significantly, with pre-test behavior scores of 82.57 decreasing to 67.62 in the post-test (p = 0.000). Sensory criteria shifted from 95.1% in the "Definite Performance (severe)" category to 44.3% in the "Typical Performance (mild)" category. Behavioral criteria improved from 75.4% in the "Very High" category to 83.6% in the "High" category. Sensory integration therapy combined with treadmill exercise effectively improves sensory processing and behavioral outcomes in children with ADHD. This intervention provides a promising non-pharmacological approach to managing ADHD symptoms and enhancing children's functional abilities. Further studies with larger samples and long-term follow-ups are recommended to validate these findings

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a crucial indicator of healthcare quality, particularly in the Emergency Department (ED), where services must be rapid, accurate, and compassionate. This study aimed to analyze determinant factors influencing patient satisfaction in the Emergency Department of Bhayangkara Hospital Tulungagung. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 110 ED patients selected through systematic random sampling. Data were collected from November 24–30, 2025, using a SERVQUAL-based questionnaire measuring responsiveness, assurance, tangibles, empathy, reliability, and response time. Instrument testing showed that all items were valid (r count > 0.413) and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.70). Data analysis using Spearman’s rho correlation and logistic regression revealed that all service quality dimensions were positively and significantly associated with patient satisfaction (p < 0.05). Responsiveness had the strongest correlation (r = 0.748), followed by empathy (r = 0.710). Logistic regression identified empathy as the most dominant determinant (β = 0.458). These findings indicate that empathetic care and interpersonal interactions play a central role in improving patient satisfaction in the ED.

Abstract

Dietary adherence is a key pillar in the management of diabetes mellitus (DM) to prevent chronic complications. The phenomenon at RSU ‘Aisyiyah Ponorogo shows that even though patients have sufficient knowledge, many still have difficulty maintaining their diet. External factors, such as family support, and internal factors, such as patient motivation, are strongly suspected as determinants of the success of long-term dietary management. The purpose of this study is to examine how patient motivation and family support relate to dietary adherence in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Internal Polyclinic of RSU "Aisyiyah Ponorogo". This study used a cross-sectional methodology and a quantitative correlational study design. Every DM patient that visits the Internal Polyclinic is included in the study population. Consecutive sampling was the method utilized for sampling. A family support questionnaire, a motivation questionnaire, and a dietary adherence questionnaire (such as a modified MMAS-8) were utilized as research instruments. Logistic regression or the Spearman rank statistical test were used to analyze the data. The research instrument was tested for validity using Product Moment correlation and declared valid because all calculated r values were > r table (0.263). The reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha showed an α value > 0.60, so the instrument was declared reliable and suitable for use. It is anticipated that the study's findings would demonstrate a strong correlation between self-motivation and dietary adherence as well as between family support and dietary adherence. Compliance with the DM diet program is mostly driven by a patient's high level of intrinsic motivation and a supportive family in supplying a diet menu. The degree of dietary compliance is significantly influenced by patient motivation and family support.

Abstract

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that infects cells in the body and weakens the human immune system, making it more susceptible to various diseases. Meanwhile, the symptoms of the disease arising from HIV itself are referred to as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). Approximately 50% of people with AIDS in Indonesia are adolescents. Until now, HIV/AIDS has ranked second in East Java province. HIV/AIDS is classified as a dangerous disease because of the risk of death. Unfortunately, there is no treatment method or vaccine that could prevent this disease. This monitoring program to prevent the development of dangerous health cases such as HIV/AIDS is very helpful for local governments. Along with the development of information technology, the emergence rate of new HIV/AIDS cases can now be forecasted using machine learning as a monitoring tool to support. This machine learning-based monitoring program works with past data for statistical analysis. In this study, the methods used are Kalman Filter, Recurrent Neural Network, and Decision Tree. The Kalman Filter is a type of filter method that is used to predict the state of a dynamic, stochastic, linear, discrete system. A Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) is a development of a Neural Network. RNN deals with input sequence/time-series data by individual sector at each step and preserves the information it has captured at previous time steps in a hidden state. A Decision Tree is one of the classic tree-based prediction methods. The best error value (RMSE) achieved by each method is 0.0885 for the Kalman Filter, then for the Recurrent Neural Network method achieved 0.198, and the Decision Tree method successfully achieved 0.0287.

Abstract

Hypertension remains a critical non-communicable disease requiring comprehensive control strategies beyond purely curative clinical interventions. This study explores promotive and preventive health strategies used to mitigate the rising incidence of hypertension in the Palangka Raya City community. Employing a qualitative phenomenological design, researchers captured the lived experiences and strategic implementations of frontline health practitioners. Data collection encompassed in-depth interviews, direct observations, and comprehensive document reviews, utilizing rigorous source and method triangulation to ensure analytical credibility. The diverse participant cohort included public health workers, non-communicable disease program coordinators, community health cadres, hypertension patients, and Community Health Center directors. Ethical approval was obtained prior to data collection. Thematic analysis guided the systematic data reduction, presentation, and conclusion phases. Findings reveal that effective hypertension control relies on four interconnected operational pillars: data-driven advocacy, robust social support, grassroots community empowerment, and integrated promotive-preventive health services. These operational strategies strongly align with the Ottawa Charter principles and Social Support Theory, demonstrating how familial and communal networks facilitate sustained behavioral modifications. The research ultimately concludes that successful hypertension mitigation necessitates synergistic cross-sectoral collaboration, continuous social reinforcement, and sustainable community engagement. Integrating promotive and preventive paradigms through targeted health promotion offers a highly effective, scalable framework for reducing cardiovascular risks and improving long-term population health outcomes across diverse resource-constrained urban settings globally.
