Abstract

Background: Introduction: Preliminary data from the Bilokka Community Health Center indicates that there are still toddlers with developmental disorders due to inappropriate parenting practices, particularly in nutrition, discipline, and communication. This condition risks hindering children's readiness to enter primary education and impacting the quality of future generations. Local surveys revealed that most mothers lack adequate knowledge regarding motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional stimulation of children. Purpose: To educate mothers of toddlers about the importance of monitoring early childhood growth and development and supporting factors such as parenting, nutrition, stimulation, and environmental health. Methods: This Community Service activity was conducted on August 4, 2025, at the Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in Bilokka Village, Panca Lautang District, targeting 45 mothers of toddlers. The activity was implemented using a participatory approach through direct counseling, group discussions, child stimulation simulation practice, training on the use of the Pre-Screening Development Questionnaire (KPSP), and mentoring through online communication media. Results: 38 of the 45 participating mothers reported gaining a new understanding of child growth and development through this program. Six toddlers at risk of malnutrition were identified and referred to advanced health services. The active involvement of participants in all stages of the program significantly contributed to the program's success. Conclusion: Empowering mothers of toddlers through participatory-based education has proven effective in increasing mothers' knowledge and involvement in early childhood stimulation, which is essential for optimizing child growth and development. Suggestion: Increased collaboration with community health centers (Puskesmas) and Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) cadres is needed by actively involving health workers and Posyandu cadres in participatory educational activities to increase mothers' understanding and involvement in ongoing programs on a regular basis. Keywords: Education; Growth and development; Parenting; Toddler Pendahuluan: Data awal dari Puskesmas Bilokka menunjukkan masih adanya balita dengan gangguan tumbuh kembang akibat praktik pengasuhan yang kurang tepat, terutama dalam aspek nutrisi, disiplin, dan komunikasi. Kondisi ini berisiko menghambat kesiapan anak memasuki pendidikan dasar serta berdampak pada kualitas generasi mendatang. Survei lokal mengungkapkan bahwa sebagian besar ibu belum memiliki pengetahuan memadai mengenai stimulasi motorik, kognitif, dan sosial-emosional anak. Tujuan: Mengedukasi ibu balita tentang pentingnya pemantauan tumbuh kembang anak usia dini serta faktor-faktor pendukung seperti pola asuh, gizi, stimulasi, dan kesehatan lingkungan. Metode: Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilakukan pada tanggal 4 Agustus 2025 di Posyandu Kelurahan Bilokka Kecamatan Panca Lautang dengan jumlah sasaran sebanyak 45 ibu balita. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui penyuluhan langsung, diskusi kelompok, praktik simulasi stimulasi anak, pelatihan penggunaan Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP), serta pendampingan melalui media komunikasi daring. Hasil: Sebanyak 38 dari 45 ibu peserta mengaku baru memperoleh pemahaman tentang tumbuh kembang anak melalui program ini. Ditemukan enam balita dengan risiko gizi kurang yang telah dirujuk ke layanan kesehatan lanjutan. Keterlibatan aktif peserta dalam seluruh tahapan kegiatan berkontribusi signifikan terhadap keberhasilan program. Simpulan: Pemberdayaan ibu balita melalui edukasi berbasis partisipatif terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterlibatan ibu dalam stimulasi dini, yang esensial bagi optimalisasi tumbuh kembang anak. Saran: Perlunya peningkatan kolaborasi dengan Puskesmas dan kader Posyandu dengan melibatkan tenaga kesehatan dan kader Posyandu secara aktif dalam kegiatan edukasi yang partisipatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan ibu dalam program berkelanjutan secara  berkala.

Abstract

Background: Postpartum maternal mental health is a crucial aspect of maternal and child well-being. Postpartum depression (PPD) can occur in women after childbirth. Comprehensive management of stress and depression is necessary to classify these events for prompt and appropriate intervention. Postpartum stress and depression are psychological problems that often go undetected in the community due to a lack of knowledge and skills among Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) cadres. Early detection by cadres can help prevent negative impacts on the mother, baby, and family. Purpose: To improve the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres in early detection of postpartum stress and depression. Method: This community service activity was carried out in the working area of ​​Amparita Health Center, Sidenreng Rappang Regency in July - August 2025. The target of the activity was 25 Posyandu cadres as representatives of five assisted villages in the working area of ​​Amparita Health Center. The activity was carried out with a community empowerment approach that emphasized the active participation of cadres in every stage of the activity. Using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) instrument as a simple screening tool that can be used by Posyandu cadres. Direct observation was carried out on the cadres' ability to use the EPDS during the mentoring activity. The pre-test and post-test data were analyzed descriptively to see the increase in the average score of cadres' knowledge and skills after the intervention. Results: The average knowledge score of cadres before the educational activity (pre-test) was 62.4 points, and the average knowledge score after the educational activity (post-test) was 89.6 points. Meanwhile, the cadres' abilities and skills after the educational activity indicated that they could use the EDPS, interpret depression scores, and provide suggestions for further action in managing depression in postpartum mothers. Conclusion: Empowering Posyandu cadres through training and mentoring is an effective step in improving the ability to detect postpartum stress and depression early. Increasing the capacity of health cadres is also a strategic effort in fostering a culture of community health. Suggestion: Follow-up measures in the form of ongoing training, routine supervision, and cross-sector collaboration are needed to strengthen the maternal mental health referral system at the community level. It is also recommended that health institutions conduct a more in-depth study of the impact of stress and depression experienced by postpartum mothers. Keywords: Community empowerment; Early detection; Postpartum depression; Posyandu cadres Pendahuluan: Kesehatan mental ibu setelah melahirkan merupakan aspek penting dari kesejahteraan ibu dan anak. Depresi pasca persalinan (DPP) dapat terjadi pada ibu setelah melahirkan. Diperlukan adanya penanganan yang komprehensif terkait kejadian stres dan depresi agar dapat diklasifikasikan untuk intervensi yang cepat dan tepat. Stres dan depresi pasca persalinan merupakan masalah psikologis yang sering tidak terdeteksi di masyarakat karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan tenaga kader Posyandu. Deteksi dini oleh kader dapat membantu pencegahan dampak negatif terhadap ibu, bayi, dan keluarga. Tujuan: Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader Posyandu dalam melakukan deteksi dini stres dan depresi pasca persalinan. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Amparita, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang pada bulan Juli - Agustus 2025. Sasaran kegiatan adalah 25 orang kader Posyandu sebagai perwakilan dari lima desa binaan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Amparita. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan pendekatan pemberdayaan masyarakat (community empowerment) yang menekankan partisipasi aktif kader dalam setiap tahapan kegiatan. Menggunakan instrumen Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) sebagai alat skrining sederhana yang dapat digunakan kader Posyandu. Dilakukan observasi langsung terhadap kemampuan kader dalam menggunakan EPDS selama kegiatan pendampingan. Data hasil pre-test dan post-test dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk melihat peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader setelah intervensi. Hasil: Mendapatkan data nilai rerata pengetahuan kader sebelum kegiatan edukasi (pre-test) adalah 62.4 poin dan nilai rerata pengetahuan setelah kegiatan edukasi (post-test) menjadi 89.6 poin. Sedangkan kemampuan dan ketrampilan kader setelah kegiatan edukasi menunjukkan bahwa kader dapat mengunakan EDPS, mengintepretasikan skor tingkat depresi, dan dapat memberikan saran untuk tindakan lebih lanjut dalam menangani depresi pada ibu pasca persalinan. Simpulan: Pemberdayaan kader Posyandu melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan adalah langkah efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan deteksi dini stres dan depresi pasca persalinan. Peningkatan kapasitas kader kesehatan juga merupakan upaya strategis dalam menumbuh kembangkan budaya kesehatan komunitas. Saran: Diperlukan tindak lanjut berupa pelatihan berkelanjutan, supervisi rutin, dan kolaborasi lintas sektor untuk memperkuat sistem rujukan kesehatan mental ibu di tingkat komunitas. Diharapkan juga untuk dilakukan pengkajian yang lebih mendalam oleh institusi kesehatan mengenai dampak stres dan depresi yang dialami oleh ibu pasca persalinan.

Abstract

Background: Domestic violence (DV) remains a health and social problem experienced by women in the Bilokka Community Health Center (Puskesmas) work area. Low gender literacy and a lack of understanding of mental health often lead to violence being considered normal and going unreported, impacting women's physical and psychological health. Purpose: To improve gender literacy and understanding of women's mental health as a community-based effort to prevent domestic violence. Method: This community service activity was conducted on January 5, 2026, at the Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in Wanio Timoreng Village, Panca Lautang District, involving 15 women of productive age and housewives as participants. The activity was implemented using a participatory and community-based approach, emphasizing the active involvement of the community, particularly women, health workers, and health cadres in the Bilokka Community Health Center work area. The material was delivered through interactive lectures and group discussions. The material was adapted to the local social and cultural context to ensure it was easily understood and accepted by participants. Instruction was provided on relaxation and stress management techniques that can be applied in everyday life. Evaluation was conducted through observation with pre-test and post-test measurements to assess the increase in participants' knowledge between before and after being given education related to gender literacy and mental health. Results: Following the educational activity, participants' knowledge of gender literacy increased by 53.3%, categorized as good, mental health increased by 66.7%, and domestic violence prevention increased by 80.0%. There was also an increase in understanding of gender literacy, mental health aspects, and domestic violence prevention. Conclusion: This community service activity successfully increased women's knowledge and understanding of gender literacy and mental health as a means of preventing domestic violence (DV). The increased knowledge of participants across all indicators positively contributed to women's attitudes and behaviors in managing the impact of domestic violence and strengthening their psychosocial resilience. Suggestion: The Bilokka Community Health Center is expected to integrate gender literacy and women's mental health education into routine health service and promotion activities as a sustainable effort to prevent Domestic Violence (DV) at the community level. Follow-up measures in the form of ongoing psychosocial support and mentoring are needed for women at risk of or experiencing DV through cross-sectoral collaboration with relevant institutions. Keywords: Domestic violence; Family; Gender literacy; Psychosocial; Women Pendahuluan: Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT) masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan dan sosial yang dialami perempuan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bilokka. Rendahnya literasi gender serta minimnya pemahaman tentang kesehatan mental menyebabkan kekerasan sering dianggap wajar dan tidak dilaporkan, sehingga berdampak pada kesehatan fisik dan psikologis perempuan. Tujuan: Untuk meningkatkan literasi gender dan pemahaman kesehatan mental perempuan sebagai upaya pencegahan Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga berbasis masyarakat. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan pada tanggal 05 Januari 2026 di Posyandu Kelurahan Wanio Timoreng Kecamatan Panca Lautang dengan melibatkan sebanyak 15 perempuan usia produktif dan ibu rumah tangga sebagai peserta. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis komunitas, yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif masyarakat, khususnya perempuan, tenaga kesehatan, dan kader kesehatan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bilokka. Materi disampaikan melalui ceramah interaktif dan diskusi kelompok. Penyampaian materi disesuaikan dengan konteks sosial dan budaya masyarakat setempat agar mudah dipahami dan diterima oleh peserta yang disertai pemberian petunjuk teknik relaksasi dan manajemen stres yang dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi dengan pengukuran pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan peserta antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi terkait literasi gender dan kesehatan mental. Hasil: Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan peserta mengenai literasi gender setelah kegiatan edukasi menjadi sebesar 53.3% dalam kategori baik, untuk mengenai kesehatan mental menjadi sebesar 66.7% dalam kategori baik dan mengenai pencegahan KDRT menjadi sebesar 80.0%% dalam kategori baik. Terdapat juga peningkatan pemahaman mengenai literasi gender, aspek kesehatan mental, dan pencegahan KDRT. Simpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman perempuan mengenai literasi gender dan kesehatan mental sebagai upaya pencegahan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT). Peningkatan pengetahuan peserta pada seluruh indikator memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap sikap dan perilaku perempuan dalam mengendalikan dampak kekerasan dalam rumah tangga serta penguatan ketahanan psikososial perempuan. Saran: Puskesmas Bilokka diharapkan dapat mengintegrasikan edukasi literasi gender dan kesehatan mental perempuan ke dalam kegiatan rutin pelayanan dan promosi kesehatan sebagai upaya berkelanjutan dalam pencegahan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT) di tingkat komunitas. Diperlukan tindak lanjut berupa pendampingan dan dukungan psikososial berkelanjutan bagi perempuan yang berisiko atau mengalami KDRT melalui kerja sama lintas sektor dengan lembaga terkait.
