Abstract

 Abstrak Selama lima tahun terakhir, hipertensi di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan. Penggunaan nutraseutikal seperti bayam merah (BM), yang kaya akan antosianin, dapat membantu menurunkan tekanan darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi sifat fisik dan aktivitas antihipertensi dari produk foam mat drying (FMD) BM secara in vivo. Produk FMD BM dibuat dengan mencampurkan 100 g BM dengan 100 ml air, ditambahkan 6% Tween 80 dan 15% maltodekstrin, kemudian dikeringkan dalam oven pada suhu 45°C. Granul yang dihasilkan diayak menggunakan ayakan 60 mesh, lalu diuji kualitas fisik dan aktivitas in vivo menggunakan tikus Wistar yang diberi larutan NaCl 2% selama 14 hari untuk memodelkan hipertensi. Tikus dibagi menjadi beberapa kelompok: kontrol positif (KP; Captopril 5 mg), kontrol negatif (KN; 1% CMC Sodium), dan tiga kelompok perlakuan (C1-C3) yang diberikan FMDBM dosis 0,5%, 1%, dan 1,5%. Data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif dan data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA. Granul FMDBM menunjukkan parameter fisik yang baik, termasuk laju aliran, sudut diam, pH, dan kelarutan. Dalam uji aktivitas antihipertensi, C3 menunjukkan penurunan tekanan darah tertinggi (37,31±1,12%) namun masih berbeda signifikan dari KP (41,79±2,75%). Hasil ini berkorelasi dengan kandungan antosianin dalam FMDBM, menunjukkan bahwa FMDBM dapat menjadi produk nutraseutikal yang efektif dan terbukti secara saintifik. The use of nutraceuticals such as red spinach (BM), which is rich in anthocyanins, can help lower blood pressure. This study aims to evaluate the physical properties and antihypertensive activity of BM foam mat drying (FMD) products in vivo. FMD BM products were prepared by mixing 100 g of BM with 100 ml of water, adding 6% Tween 80 and 15% maltodextrin, then dried in an oven at 45°C. The resulting granules were sieved using a 60 mesh sieve, then tested for physical quality and in vivo activity using Wistar rats fed 2% NaCl solution for 14 days to model hypertension. The rats were divided into several groups: positive control (KP; Captopril 5 mg), negative control (KN; 1% CMC Sodium), and three treatment groups (C1-C3) given FMDBM doses of 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively and quantitative data were analyzed using ANOVA. The FMDBM granules showed good physical parameters, including flow rate, angle of repose, pH, and solubility. In the antihypertensive activity test, C3 showed the highest blood pressure reduction (37.31±1.12%) but was still significantly different from KP (41.79±2.75%). These results correlated with the anthocyanin content in FMDBM, suggesting that FMDBM could be an effective and scientifically proven nutraceutical product. Abstract

Desa Ngareanak, dengan luas wilayah 600 Ha dan kepadatan penduduk 49.984 jiwa, menjadi pusat produksi biji kopi di Kecamatan Singorojo. Tanah perkebunan PTPN IX Merbuh dan milik Perhutani RPH Patukan mencakup sebagian besar wilayah, dengan fokus pada tanaman komoditas seperti jagung, kopi, dan palawija. Tanaman kopi, terutama jenis robusta, mendominasi dengan 72% dari total lahan, menghasilkan hingga 200 ton biji kopi per tahun. UPPKS "Sejahtera" di Dusun Patukan mengoptimalkan potensi ini dengan memproduksi kopi bubuk bernama "Kopi Sedep". Meskipun memiliki produksi yang tinggi, pemasaran produk masih dilakukan secara konvensional, sehingga untuk memanfaatkan peluang pasar digital yang besar di Indonesia, tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Wahid Hasyim turut berperan melalui kegiatan pengabdian yang mencakup pelatihan pemasaran digital, bantuan dalam pengemasan produk, dan pendampingan dalam proses pengurusan Sertifikat Produksi Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (SPP-IRT). Harapannya, langkah ini akan meningkatkan daya saing produk UPPKS "Sejahtera" dan meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya sertifikasi untuk kredibilitas usaha pangan lokal di pasar yang semakin digital

Abstract

Kecamatan Singorojo, Kabupaten Kendal, merupakan salah satu sentra penghasil kopi robusta di Jawa Tengah dengan produksi mencapai 242,85 ton pada tahun 2019. Namun, tantangan pada proses pasca panen, khususnya dalam sortasi cherry kopi, masih berdampak pada kualitas dan daya saing produk kopi. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan nilai tambah kopi robusta melalui optimalisasi proses pasca panen dengan pemanfaatan teknologi kecerdasan artifisial (AI) untuk sistem sortasi cherry kopi. Sistem sortir menggunakan algoritma YOLO v8 dikembangkan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasikan cherry kopi unggulan dan non-unggulan berdasarkan warna dan kondisi visual serta memprediksi kadar kafein secara real-time. Pengujian kadar kafein dan gula sebagai label dataset dilakukan untuk melatih dan mengkalibrasi sistem agar dapat memberikan estimasi komposisi kimiawi kopi secara akurat. Proses fermentasi yang dikontrol juga diaplikasikan untuk menurunkan kadar kafein dan meningkatkan mutu kopi, dan integrasinya dengan sistem sortasi AI menghasilkan produk kopi yang lebih konsisten dan bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Sosialisasi dan pelatihan penggunaan alat dilakukan secara intensif kepada mitra di UPPKS Sejahtera. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi sortir berbasis AI mampu meningkatkan efisiensi, konsistensi mutu, dan memberikan nilai tambah pada hasil panen kopi robusta di Desa Ngareanak. Inovasi ini diharapkan memberikan dampak positif bagi keberlanjutan industri kopi lokal dan kesejahteraan petani

Abstract

Desa Karimunjawa, yang terletak di wilayah kepulauan Jawa Tengah, menghadapi tantangan serius dalam ketahanan pangan akibat keterbatasan lahan pertanian, kondisi tanah berpasir dengan nutrisi rendah, serta ketergantungan pada pasokan sayuran dari Jepara yang harganya relatif lebih tinggi. Cuaca ekstrim juga sering mengganggu jalur transportasi, sehingga distribusi pangan tidak menentu. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemandirian pangan lokal melalui penerapan budidaya hidroponik yang dipadukan dengan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT). Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif, meliputi penguatan kapasitas kelompok Fatayat NU, pelatihan sistem hidroponik, pendampingan teknis, serta implementasi perangkat IoT untuk pemantauan dan pengaturan air serta nutrisi tanaman secara otomatis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sistem hidroponik berbasis IoT mampu menurunkan konsumsi air hingga 30% dan memperpendek siklus panen, sehingga menghasilkan produksi sayuran yang lebih konsisten. Selain itu, program ini memperkuat kapasitas institusional mitra komunitas, meningkatkan keterampilan anggota, serta membuka peluang ekonomi berbasis pertanian berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan sekaligus kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat pesisir seperti Karimunjawa.

Abstract

Conventional bath bombs contain only acidic and basic agents for effervescence, without any antibacterial or pharmacologically active ingredients. This study developed a bath bomb formulation enriched with bioactive compounds to provide antibacterial and therapeutic benefits beyond conventional cosmetic use. Patchouli alcohol is contained in the essential oil present in patchouli leaves, which is known to have antibacterial activity. Bath bomb is a spa product that can provide a relaxing atmosphere during bathing, which is used by soaking. Bath bombs were made using the mixing method with citric acid variations FI 26.3%, F2 33.3% and F3 38.5%. Evaluation of characteristics included organoleptic properties, weight uniformity, pH, hardness, dissolution effectiveness, foam height and stability test, water content, and geometric surface area test. The results of the characteristics bath bombs showed that three formulas gave good evaluations. The formulas did not significantly affect the pH of the bath bomb formulations. However, higher citric acid levels influenced organoleptic properties, weight uniformity, hardness, dissolution time, moisture content, geometric surface area, and foam height stability.

Abstract

Celecoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor widely used for inflammatory conditions; however, its oral administration is associated with gastrointestinal adverse effects, particularly during long-term therapy. Topical delivery using nanoemulsion systems represents a promising alternative to enhance dermal penetration while minimizing systemic side effects. The selection of carrier oil plays a crucial role in determining the physicochemical characteristics, drug release behavior, and skin safety of nanoemulsion formulations.This study aimed to formulate celecoxib nanoemulsions using clove oil and nutmeg oil as carrier oils and to evaluate their physicochemical properties, in vitro drug release profiles, and dermal irritation potential. Celecoxib nanoemulsions were prepared using Tween 80 and polyethylene glycol 400 as surfactant and cosurfactant, with varying concentrations (3%, 6%, and 12%) of clove oil or nutmeg oil. The formulations were evaluated for organoleptic properties, homogeneity, percent transmittance, pH, particle size, and polydispersity index. In vitro drug release was assessed using a Franz diffusion cell with phosphate buffer pH 7.4 as the receptor medium. Dermal irritation was evaluated in New Zealand White rabbits using the primary irritation index method. Results: All nanoemulsion formulations exhibited clear, transparent appearances with nanoscale droplet sizes and acceptable polydispersity indices, indicating uniform particle distribution. The pH values were within the suitable range for topical application. In vitro release studies demonstrated sustained celecoxib release profiles, with no significant differences observed between formulations containing clove oil and nutmeg oil. Dermal irritation testing showed no signs of erythema or edema, resulting in a primary irritation index of zero for all formulations.Celecoxib nanoemulsions formulated with clove oil or nutmeg oil as carrier oils demonstrated favorable physicochemical characteristics, satisfactory drug release behavior, and excellent dermal safety, highlighting their potential as non-irritating topical delivery systems for anti-inflammatory therapy.

Abstract

Abstrak Limbah kulit pisang ambon (Musa paradisiaca L. cv Ambon) yang selama ini kurang dimanfaatkan ternyata mengandung senyawa bioaktif, seperti fenolik yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan alami. Metode Foam Mat Drying (FMD) dipilih sebagai teknik pengeringan yang efektif untuk mempertahankan kandungan senyawa aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi karakteristik fisik, aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode ABTS, dan kadar fenolik total dari serbuk FMD kulit pisang ambon. Proses pengeringan kulit pisang ambon dilakukan dengan metode FMD menggunakan penambahan maltodekstrin dan Tween 80. Karakterisasi fisik serbuk meliputi uji organoleptik, kecepatan alir, sudut diam, dan kadar air. Analisis total fenolik dilakukan menggunakan metode Folin-Ciocalteu dengan asam galat sebagai senyawa standar, sedangkan aktivitas antioksidan diuji menggunakan metode ABTS dengan trolox sebagai pembanding. Pengukuran absorbansi dilakukan melalui spektrofotometer UV-Vis dan nilai IC50 diperoleh dari analisis regresi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan serbuk FMD kulit pisang ambon memiliki karakteristik fisik yang baik dengan menunjukkan warna kuning cerah, berbau khas pisang dan berbentuk serbuk. Nilai waktu alir 4,5533 gr/detik, nilai sudut diam 34,3333° dan nilai kadar air 1,7%. Penetapan kadar fenolik diperoleh sebesar 117,5859 ± 0.4677 mg GAE/gram. Aktivitas antioksidan serbuk FMD kulit pisang ambon diperoleh IC50  sebesar 100,2642 ± 0,622058 ppm  yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Kata kunci: Antioksidan; fenolik; kulit pisang ambon; serbuk foam-mat drying.   Abstract The underutilised banana peel waste (Musa paradisiaca L. cv Ambon) contains bioactive compounds, particularly phenolics, which have potential as natural antioxidants. The Foam Mat Drying (FMD) method was selected as an effective drying technique to preserve active compounds. This study aimed to evaluate the physical characteristics, antioxidant activity using the ABTS method, and total phenolic content of FMD banana peel powder. The drying process was conducted using the FMD method with the addition of maltodextrin and Tween 80. Physical characterisation included organoleptic evaluation, flow speed, angle of repose, and moisture content. Total phenolic content was determined using the Folin–Ciocalteu method with gallic acid as the standard, while antioxidant activity was measured using the ABTS method with Trolox as the reference. Absorbance was measured using a UV–Vis spectrophotometer, and IC₅₀ values were calculated by linear regression. The FMD powder showed good physical characteristics, including a bright yellow colour, distinctive banana aroma, and powder form. The flow rate was 4.5533 g/s, the angle of repose was 34.3333°, and moisture content was 1.7%. Total phenolic content was 117.5859 ± 0.4677 mg GAE/g, while antioxidant activity showed an IC₅₀ value of 100.2642 ± 0.6221 ppm, categorised as moderate. Abstract

Ambon banana peel (ABP) is rich in phenolic compounds yet unstable to light and heat. Foam-mat drying (FMD) protects bioactive components and facilitates the development of nutraceutical products. This study aimed to formulate and evaluate FMD granules containing ABP for their antioxidant and antihypertensive activities. Granules were prepared with ABP at 1% (F1), 2.5% (F2), and 5% (F3) w/w, combined with 6% Tween-80 and 15% maltodextrin, dried at 40 °C for 60 min, and blended with excipients. Physical characteristics, pH, flowability, and antioxidant activity (ABTS assay) were assessed. Antihypertensive effects were tested in Wistar rats induced with 2% NaCl and treated orally for 14 days; captopril (5 mg/kg BW) served as a positive control. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA. All formulations produced free-flowing granules with a moisture content <2% and a dissolution time <5 min. Antioxidant inhibition increased with ABP content, with F3 showing the highest activity (71.3 ± 1.4%). F3 also achieved the greatest reductions in systolic (≈31%) and diastolic (≈39%) blood pressure, approaching the effect of captopril. Moreover, F3 exhibits strong antioxidant activity and significant antihypertensive effects, indicating potential as a sustainable nutraceutical for the management of hypertension. Further studies on product stability and clinical efficacy are warranted.
