Abstract

The preliminary analysis results indicate that the quality of automotive vocational learning is not optimal. This study aims to develop a work-based learning model that incorporates the Teaching Factory concept (WBL-TEFA) with the goal of enhancing the learning achievement of automotive vocational students. Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model were implemented in this study. The results indicate that the WBL-TEFA learning model introduced novel elements to the model syntax through the following activity steps: (1) initiation, (2) receiving orders, (3) gathering necessary information, (4) generating and sorting possible solutions, (5) executing orders, (6) quality control, and (7) assessment. To implement this syntax, various supporting materials were developed, including model handbooks, lecturer and student manuals, and textbooks. Following the implementation, the experimental class demonstrated a significantly higher learning achievement gain score of 51.62 compared to the control class, which achieved a gain score of 42.52. Additionally, there was an improvement in task management abilities, work environment skills, interpersonal skills, workplace learning skills, and student critical thinking. In summary, the utilization of the WBL-TEFA learning model proved effective in enhancing students' academic performance, as evidenced by a statistically significant.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in torque, power, and specific fuel consumption produced by four-stroke motorcycles with different compression ratios and using different fuels. This study used an experimental method. The results of the study at a standard compression ratio of 9.6:1, the highest torque was 12.17 Nm using Pertamax Plus fuel, while the highest power was 5.77 Kw using Pertamax Plus fuel, and the lowest specific fuel consumption was in the use of Pertamax Plus fuel at 0.1192 Kg/kWh. At a compression ratio reduced to 8.9:1, the highest torque was 9.38 Nm using Pertamax Plus fuel, while the highest power was 4.03 Kw using Pertalite and Pertamax Plus fuel, while the lowest specific fuel consumption was in the use of Pertamax Plus fuel at 0.1537 Kg/kWh. When the compression ratio is increased to 10.3:1, the highest torque is 20.19 Nm using Pertamax Plus fuel, while the highest power is 6.67 Kw using Pertamax Plus fuel, while the lowest specific fuel consumption is when using Pertamax Plus fuel at 0.1258 Kg/kWh. ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan torsi, daya dan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik yang dihasilkan dari sepeda motor empat langkah dengan perbandingan kompresi berbeda dan menggunakan bahan bakar yang berbeda. penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental. Hasil penelitian pada perbandingan kompresi standar 9,6:1 torsi tertinggi sebesar 12,17 Nm menggunakan bahan bakar pertamax plus, sedangkan daya tertinggi sebesar 5,77 Kw menggunakan bahan bakar pertamax plus, dan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik terendah pada penggunaan bahan bakar pertamax plus 0,1192 Kg/kWh. Pada paat perbandingan kompresi diturunkan 8,9:1 torsi tertinggi sebesar 9,38 Nm menggunakan bahan bakar pertamax plus, sedangkan daya tertinggi sebesar 4,03 Kw menggunakan bahan bakar pertalite dan pertamax plus, sedangkan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik terendah pada penggunaan bahan bakar pertamax plus 0,1537 Kg/kWh. Pada saat perbandingan kompresi dinaikkan 10,3:1 torsi tertinggi sebesar 20,19 Nm menggunakan bahan bakar pertamax plus, sedangkan daya tertinggi sebesar 6,67 Kw menggunakan bahan pertamax plus, sedangkan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik terendah pada penggunaan bahan bakar pertamax plus 0,1258 Kg/kWh.

Abstract

The relationship between executive and legislative institutions is a key pillar of subnational governance in Indonesia, especially during the era of regional autonomy. This article examines how informal political mechanisms shaped political communication between the Mayor of Bogor and the Bogor City Council (DPRD) during the 2014–2019 period. The study employs a qualitative single-case design based on in-depth interviews with key political actors—including the mayor, council speaker, faction leaders, local media executives, and local political observers—complemented by document and media analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña's interactive model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that informal communication channels, such as interpersonal lobbying, private meetings, and social–religious gatherings, play a more decisive role than formal procedures in building trust, negotiating policy trade-offs, and preventing open conflict between the executive and legislature. Informal politics functions as a complementary and accommodating informal institution that fills the gaps in formal rules and enhances political resilience by providing an early warning and conflict prevention mechanism. Simultaneously, formal procedures remain essential as a framework for legitimacy and accountability. The article conceptualises these dynamics as a form of trust-based political communication within a hybrid political communication system at the local level and discusses their implications for democratic accountability and executive–legislative collaboration in Indonesia's semi-presidential context.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) merupakan kompetensi kunci pada pembelajaran praktik di sekolah menengah kejuruan, khususnya program Teknik Kendaraan Ringan Otomotif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan pengetahuan K3 dengan kedisiplinan praktikum siswa kelas XI TKRO di SMKN 2 Sungai Penuh. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel berjumlah 60 siswa yang dipilih secara total sampling. Data pengetahuan K3 dan kedisiplinan praktikum dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terstandar dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif serta regresi linier sederhana berbantuan SPSS. Hasil menunjukkan pengetahuan K3 dan kedisiplinan praktikum berada pada kategori sedang. Terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara pengetahuan K3 dan kedisiplinan praktikum (r = 0,592), dengan koefisien determinasi 35,1%, yang berarti pengetahuan K3 menjelaskan sepertiga variasi kedisiplinan siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan literasi K3 sebagai strategi untuk membangun budaya disiplin dan perilaku kerja aman di SMK. Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a core competence in vocational practical learning, particularly in Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering programs. This study examines the relationship between OHS knowledge and students’ practicum discipline among grade XI TKRO students at SMKN 2 Sungai Penuh. A descriptive-correlational, quantitative design was employed with a total sample of 60 students. Data on OHS knowledge and practicum discipline were collected using validated questionnaires and analysed with descriptive statistics and simple linear regression in SPSS. The results show that both OHS knowledge and practicum discipline are at a moderate level. A significant positive correlation was found between OHS knowledge and practicum discipline (r = 0.592), with a coefficient of determination of 35.1%, indicating that OHS knowledge explains about one-third of the variance in students’ discipline. These findings highlight the need to strengthen OHS literacy to foster a safety culture in vocational schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis variasi campuran Pertamax 92 dengan metanol untuk meningkatkan nilai oktan dan mengurangi emisi gas buang pada sepeda motor Satria FU Injeksi tahun 2018. Emisi gas buang dari kendaraan bermotor, yang merupakan salah satu penyebab utama polusi udara, mengandung senyawa berbahaya seperti karbon monoksida (CO), hidrokarbon (HC), dan nitrogen oksida (NOₓ). Metanol sebagai bahan bakar alternatif memiliki potensi untuk mengurangi emisi tersebut dan meningkatkan efisiensi pembakaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuantitatif dengan sembilan variasi campuran metanol (0%, 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10%, 12,5%, 15%, 17,5%, dan 20%). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan metanol secara nyata dapat meningkatkan nilai oktan, dengan nilai maksimum mencapai 110 RON pada campuran 20% metanol. Selain itu, emisi CO dan HC dari semua variasi campuran tetap berada di bawah batas maksimum yang ditetapkan. Penelitian ini memberikan bukti bahwa campuran Pertamax 92 dan metanol dapat menjadi solusi ramah lingkungan untuk mengurangi polusi udara.

Abstract

Bore up banyak digunakan untuk meningkatkan performa mesin sepeda motor, namun data kuantitatif pada skuter matik injeksi masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh bore up dari 110 cc menjadi 130 cc terhadap daya dan torsi mesin Honda Scoopy FI. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen sebelum–sesudah dengan variabel bebas bore up dan variabel terikat daya serta torsi. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan chassis dynamometer pada tiga kali pengulangan untuk kondisi standar dan setelah bore up. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan daya rata-rata dari 6,91 HP menjadi 9,09 HP (≈31,6%) dan torsi rata-rata dari 8,57 N·m menjadi 10,85 N·m (≈26,6%). Peningkatan engine performance ini mengonfirmasi bahwa pembesaran volume silinder memperbaiki proses pembakaran dan kemampuan akselerasi, sehingga bore up dapat direkomendasikan sebagai strategi modifikasi geometris untuk mengoptimalkan performa sepeda motor harian secara terukur. Bore-up modification is widely used to increase motorcycle engine performance, yet quantitative data for small fuel-injected scooters are still limited. This study investigates the effect of increasing displacement from 110 cc to 130 cc on the power and torque of a Honda Scoopy FI engine. An experimental before–after method was applied, with bore-up as the independent variable and brake power and torque as the dependent variables. Tests were carried out on a chassis dynamometer with three repetitions in standard and bore-up conditions. The results show that average power rose from 6.91 HP to 9.09 HP (≈31.6%) and average torque from 8.57 N·m to 10.85 N·m (≈26.6%). These findings confirm that enlarging the cylinder volume improves combustion and acceleration capability, so bore-up can be recommended as a geometric modification strategy to optimise daily motorcycle engine performance in a measurable way.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis kontribusi pengalaman praktik kerja industri terhadap minat berkarier sebagai mekanik otomotif pada siswa kelas XII Teknik Kendaraan Ringan SMKN 1 Bukittinggi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan sampel jenuh 33 siswa yang telah menyelesaikan praktik. Data dikumpulkan melalui dua angket berskala Likert yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman praktik kerja industri berada pada kategori tinggi (mean = 98,67) dan minat menjadi mekanik juga tinggi (mean = 72,79). Koefisien korelasi sebesar r = 0,440 dengan p = 0,010 mengindikasikan hubungan positif yang signifikan, dengan kontribusi 19,4% terhadap variasi minat karier. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya desain program praktik kerja industri yang berkualitas sebagai strategi sekolah kejuruan untuk memperkuat orientasi karier siswa di bidang otomotif. This study examines the contribution of industrial work-practice experience to students’ interest in pursuing a career as automotive mechanics among Grade XII Light Vehicle Engineering students at SMKN 1 Bukittinggi. A quantitative correlational design was applied with a saturated sample of 33 students who had completed their internship. Data were collected using two validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires and analysed through descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The findings show that industrial work-practice experience is in the high category (mean = 98.67) and interest in becoming a mechanic is also high (mean = 72.79). The correlation coefficient r = 0.440 with p = 0.010 indicates a significant positive relationship, with a contribution of 19.4% to the variance in career interest. These results highlight the importance of well-designed internship programmes in vocational schools for strengthening students’ career orientation in the automotive sector.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mengubah paradigma pembelajaran dalam pendidikan teknik dan vokasi, di mana video menjadi media efektif untuk menyampaikan materi prosedural. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara sistematis literatur terkait penggunaan video pembelajaran dalam konteks pendidikan teknik dan vokasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) mengikuti panduan PRISMA 2020 terhadap 50 artikel berkualitas dengan database Scopus yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Teknis analisis data dilakukan melalui analisis konten kualitatif yang melibatkan tahap ekstraksi data sistematis, reduksi informasi, hingga pengelompokan tema secara induktif untuk memetakan sistesis temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar, motivasi, dan keterampilan praktis siswa. Faktor-faktor seperti durasi video optimal (6-12 menit), kehadiran instruktur, desain visual, dan interaktivitas terbukti mempengaruhi efektivitas pembelajaran. Simpulan penelitian ini menekankan integrasi desain instruksional berbasis kognitif multimedia dan teknologi inovatif seperti AR, AI dan learning analytics menjadi kunci utama dalam mengoptimalkan kualitas pendidikan vokasi era digital.

Abstract

Perawatan sistem kelistrikan sepeda motor matic 4 langkah menuntut penguasaan keterampilan prosedural dan diagnostik yang konsisten, namun keterbatasan waktu praktik, variasi kemampuan peserta didik, serta akses media praktik sering menghambat pencapaian kompetensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mensintesis bukti riset tentang pemanfaatan video pembelajaran dan teknologi digital (simulasi/VR/AR) untuk mendukung pembelajaran keterampilan praktik, khususnya pada konteks perawatan dan diagnostik kelistrikan di pendidikan vokasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah systematic literature review berkerangka PRISMA 2020 dengan sumber data Scopus-export sebanyak 884 rekam yang diseleksi hingga diperoleh 50 artikel untuk disintesis; data diekstraksi dari metadata dan dianalisis secara deskriptif serta melalui sintesis tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan lima tema utama dengan dominasi pada topik video pembelajaran dan desain video instruksional, didukung bukti kuat dari studi review/meta-analisis serta studi pengembangan media dan pelatihan keterampilan melalui simulasi/VR/AR. Kesimpulannya, video pembelajaran berbasis prinsip multimedia dengan demonstrasi prosedural yang jelas, dipadukan latihan terstruktur dan asesmen praktik, berpotensi meningkatkan kesiapan kompetensi perawatan dan diagnostik kelistrikan pada pendidikan vokasi.

Abstract

The Competency Test for Teacher Professional Education Program Participants (UKPPPG) is an essential stage for assessing the professionalism of vocational teachers, including those in the field of automotive engineering. Adequate preparation is required to ensure that teachers meet competency standards while also improving the quality of learning in vocational schools. This study aims to describe the preparation strategies facilitated by the Automotive Engineering Subject Teacher Forum (MGMP) in West Sumatra and to identify the challenges teachers face in preparing for the UKPPPG. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects consisted of 15 automotive teachers who were actively involved in MGMP activities and preparing for the UKPPPG. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was carried out through coding, theme identification, and verification using source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that MGMP preparation strategies include lesson plan development, microteaching, and exam discussions. These activities improved teachers’ pedagogical skills; however, limitations such as inadequate workshop facilities, conventional teaching materials, and the lack of computer-based simulations hindered optimal preparation. This study concludes that MGMP plays a significant role in preparing teachers for the UKPPPG, although its effectiveness remains limited to pedagogical aspects. A more comprehensive strategy involving curriculum renewal, access to updated materials, psychological support, and digital technology integration is needed.
