Abstract

This study explores the suboptimal competence and work discipline of high school teachers. It aims to understand the meaning, perceptions, experiences, and real practices of teachers related to personality and discipline. A descriptive, qualitative approach was employed, utilizing purposive sampling, with experienced teachers from SMAN 42 East Jakarta. Data were collected through interviews and observations, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings indicate that personality competence is seen as being a role model through honesty and fairness, while discipline is reflected in a strong sense of responsibility. The primary obstacle is an administrative workload that hampers disciplinary focus, while support is provided through MGMP training and regular character-building programs. The implications underscore the importance of institutional support and policy adjustments in reducing administrative burdens, enabling teachers to focus more effectively on teaching and student character development.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of teachers at Ma’had Al-Istiqlal Foundation, Karawang, in designing creative learning through the implementation of the flipped classroom model. This model was selected because it aligns with student-centered learning approaches and has the potential to foster more meaningful classroom interactions. The implementation methods included the dissemination of flipped classroom concepts, technical training in the preparation of learning materials, mentoring in lesson design practices, and evaluation of program outcomes. The results indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of flipped classroom principles, their ability to develop pre-class learning materials (videos and digital modules), and their planning of in-class activities emphasizing higher-order thinking skills. Moreover, teachers demonstrated positive attitudinal changes toward instructional innovation, becoming more enthusiastic and confident about implementing this approach in their respective classrooms. Institutional support from the foundation, such as providing technological facilities and establishing teacher learning communities, further strengthened the program’s impact. This activity is expected to serve as a starting point for transforming teaching and learning at Ma’had Al-Istiqlal as well as a model of best practice for other educational institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates how research on Leadership and employee performance has evolved within the digital transformation landscape through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of publications from 2020 to 2025. The literature search was conducted in Scopus and Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish tool, with search terms including “Leadership," "digital transformation," and "employee performance." The review adhered to the PRISMA framework, which comprises sequential phases: identifying relevant studies, screening titles and abstracts, assessing eligibility, and determining final inclusion. Of 500 initial publications, 30 met all criteria and were analysed comprehensively. The synthesis reveals that both transformational and digital Leadership consistently contribute positively to outcomes such as employee performance, motivation, innovation, and adaptability. The bibliometric results further indicate three dominant thematic groupings: digital Leadership, employee performance, and organisational responses to technological change. Overall, the evidence underscores that effective digital transformation requires not only technological infrastructure but also competent human resources and Leadership approaches that support organisational change. This review enriches theoretical understanding of current research patterns and offers practical guidance for enhancing Leadership capability and human resource development in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize and systematically map the growing body of research on mindfulness leadership in education published between 2019 and 2025, a period marked by increasing scholarly interest in well-being, ethical governance, and transformative practices in schools. Using a PRISMA-guided Systematic Literature Review, this study combines bibliometric mapping and reflexive thematic analysis to identify conceptual linkages, dominant themes, and emerging research directions. A total of 40 peer-reviewed articles across diverse educational settings were analysed. The synthesis reveals four major interconnected themes: contemplative pedagogy, ethical and compassionate leadership, teacher well-being, and organizational transformation through mindfulness. Findings show that mindfulness leadership fosters reflective awareness, relational trust, and emotional regulation among school leaders, which in turn strengthens teacher well-being and supports positive school climate. Evidence also suggests that mindfulness practices bridge personal contemplative development with systemic change, positioning leadership as both an internal capacity and an organizational influence. The review also identifies gaps, including limited empirical work in non-Western contexts and a need for longitudinal and mixed-method designs. The study concludes by proposing a conceptual model framing mindfulness leadership as a holistic and ethically grounded framework for cultivating resilient, emotionally intelligent, and values-driven educational environments.

Abstract

Cross-border educational partnerships play a crucial role in enhancing teaching quality, particularly in regions facing structural challenges and limited resources. This article outlines the results of a collaborative community service program between Universitas Negeri Jakarta (Indonesia) and Western Mindanao State University (Philippines), aimed at improving the pedagogical capacity of madrasah teachers in Zamboanga, Southern Philippines. Addressing the prevalence of fixed mindsets and reliance on conventional teaching methods, the program adopted a participatory action framework with a two-pronged intervention: (1) fostering a creative mindset and (2) equipping teachers with innovative and contextual teaching methods. Through a series of workshops, mentoring, and pre/post-test evaluations, the program demonstrated significant change. The program findings reveal that transforming the teachers' mindset was an essential foundation for the adoption of practical skills. Teachers not only showed a significant increase in conceptual understanding (85%) but also demonstrated the ability to design creative lesson plans (>80%) by maximizing local resources. This program proves that an approach focused on psychological empowerment and adaptive practical skills can effectively transform teachers into resilient agents of innovation in their communities, with significant implications, including the need for continued collaboration with local partners (WMSU) to establish a Community of Practice and policy advocacy to educational stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of interventions and curriculum adaptation to meet regional educational dynamics.
