Abstract

The integrity of the global academic record is under unprecedented threat due to the industrialization of scientific misconduct, driven by paper mills, citation cartels, and identity theft, prompting major bibliographic databases to replace manual curation with algorithmic systems. This study examines the operational mechanics of the Scopus Radar tool, an unsupervised anomaly detection system designed to identify and eliminate articles exhibiting anomalous behavior. We reconstruct the bibliometric indicators that lead to discontinuation by triangulating data from the November 2025 Scopus Discontinued Titles list, public Elsevier policy papers, and independent bibliometric research. Our study of 62 cancelled journals shows that Publication Concerns (59.7%) and Outlier conduct (14.5%) are the top grounds for removal. There are definite tendencies when it comes to hyper-concentrated authorship, quick volume velocity spikes, and citation stacking that does not make sense. We also see a "contagion effect," where certain publications have far greater rates of quitting than others. Based on these findings, we propose the Scopus Radar Readiness Model (SRRM). The model is based on the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and has four stages of growth. This roadmap gives editorial boards the tools they need to go from reactive compliance to proactive integrity assurance. They can do this by using internal bibliometric audits to find and fix problems before they lead to external algorithmic enforcement. The results show that journals need to use Level 4 Optimized integrity practices to stay alive in a time when automated gatekeeping is common.

Abstract

Abstract

The impact of complex childhood trauma can interfere with students' personal and academic development. Although many studies suggest the vital role of educators in supporting trauma-impacted students, research on this topic is minimal. This study investigates teachers’ knowledge and attitudes towards trauma-informed practices in school. Data was collected from the 32-hour workshop on trauma-informed practices, and a quantitative analysis was conducted to compare teachers’ knowledge of trauma-informed practices before and after the workshop. Then, teachers’ attitudes toward implementing this approach were analysed. A Wilcoxon test result shows significant differences in teachers’ knowledge before and after the workshop (p<0.001). Findings also indicate a positive attitude towards trauma-informed practices in school, where most participants (n=66, 85%) indicated that they want to implement trauma-informed practices in school. Therefore, occupying teachers with trauma-informed practice skills can be potentially helpful in supporting students who show challenging behaviours due to disruption caused by adverse childhood experiences.

Abstract

Mental health is a global issue that has received increasing attention, particularly among university students. Mental health literacy (MHL) is an important factor in promoting students' psychological well-being through knowledge, attitudes, and the ability to recognize and address mental health problems. This study aims to map the developmental trends of MHL research among university students in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the direction and focus of studies in this field. This research employed a bibliometric literature review approach by analyzing 48 journal articles indexed in the Scopus database and published between 2021 and 2025. The findings indicate that publications on MHL research have increased significantly from year to year, reflecting growing academic attention to student mental health issues. However, the mapping of disciplinary fields shows that research remains dominated by medical, psychological, and public health approaches, with a focus on depression, anxiety, stigma, and professional help-seeking. In contrast, educational approaches, including the integration of MHL into curricula, learning strategies, and pedagogical innovations, remain highly limited. This imbalance indicates a conceptual gap in the development of MHL literature in higher education. The findings provide a comprehensive overview of the current development of MHL research and may serve as a reference for researchers in identifying future research gaps. This study emphasizes the need to strengthen MHL research through educational approaches that are integrated into higher education systems in order to support sustainable efforts to improve university students' mental health.
