Abstract

Lima spesies (Pseudagrion pruinosum, Orthetrum sabina, Neurothemis ramburi, Diplocodes trivialis, dan Pantala flavescens) menunjukkan sebaran acak (I? ? 1). Dua spesies (Trithemis festiva dan Orthetrum glaucum) menunjukkan sebaran seragam (I? < 1), yang mengindikasikan adanya kompetisi. Tiga spesies (Orthetrum chrysis, Neurothemis fluctuans, dan Anax guttatus) menunjukkan sebaran mengelompok (I?

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the kinds of fruit flies (Bactrocera spp.) that prey on fruits in Mataram City's traditional markets and to assess the degree of abundance in different host species. Dasan Agung, Bertais, Kebon Roek, and Pagesangan were the four primary markets where the study was carried out. Purposive random sampling was used to gather fruit samples exhibiting fruit fly attack symptoms, which were then kept in sand media until the imago phase. The Bactrocera determination key was used to identify the species. The results showed the existence of four primary species: Bactrocera albistrigata de Mejeire, which attacks water apples; Bactrocera carambolae Drew and Hancock, which strikes starfruit; Bactrocera Caudatus Fab, which attacks guava; and Bactrocera Dorsalis, which targets chile. The findings of this study have implications for education in addition to helping to manage agricultural pests. High school biology classes can employ fruit flies as a teaching tool for subjects including biodiversity, insect life cycles, ecological relationships, and the connection between biology and regional agricultural problems.

Abstract

Student engagement in laboratory quality systems is essential for strengthening maintenance compliance and technical competence, particularly when aligned with international standards such as ISO 17025:2017. This study aims to (1) design a student engagement model that complies with the requirements of clauses 6.2.2 and 7.6 of ISO 17025:2017 and (2) analyze the impact of its implementation on improving equipment maintenance compliance and student technical competence. The research design employs an explanatory sequential mixed-methods approach, with a dominant quantitative component and qualitative support. The research subjects included 22 key informants (laboratory coordinators, laboratory heads, technicians, and students) who were selected with purposive sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, FGDs, and participant observation. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple linear regression using SPSS 25, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results showed that the model designed based on four pillars: training, documented participation SOPs, internal audit simulations, and portfolio systems effectively transformed students from passive learners into competent contributors to the laboratory quality assurance system. The implementation of the model was proven to significantly improve maintenance compliance (mean = +1.81) and technical competence (mean = +1.59). Regression analysis confirmed that the model explained 80.2% of the variance in compliance (R² = 0.802) and 78.1% of the variance in competence (R² = 0.781), with documentation quality (β = 0.462; β = 0.423) as the strongest predictor. Qualitative findings revealed a shift in mindset from obligation to ownership as a key mechanism. This study concludes that the developed model not only aligns with ISO 17025 but also provides a strategic approach to building sustainable quality cultures in educational laboratories.

Abstract

Seagrass ecosystems have a vital function in sustaining the stability of coastal environments by enhancing biodiversity and maintaining key ecological processes of associated organisms, including Echinodermata. This study was conducted to examine the species composition, abundance, and distribution patterns of Echinodermata, to evaluate the composition and diversity of seagrass species, and to determine the degree of association between Echinodermata and seagrass in the southern coastal waters of East Lombok, specifically at Lungkak and Poton Bako Beaches. The research employed a survey method using a transect–quadrat technique in intertidal seagrass ecosystems, with subsequent analyses including the Shannon–Wiener diversity index, distribution pattern assessment, and Spearman correlation analysis to quantify the strength of the association. The study found that seagrass diversity indices at both sites were categorized as moderate, with relatively similar species composition, while Echinodermata communities were dominated by several key species exhibiting clustered to uniform distribution patterns. Correlation analysis indicated a positive to weak association between seagrass density and Echinodermata abundance. In conclusion, the seagrass beds in the study area continue to function as important habitats for Echinodermata, although signs of increasing environmental pressure were observed. These findings provide important scientific implications for seagrass ecosystem management and conservation-oriented regulation of coastal activities in East Lombok.

Abstract

Kerandangan Nature Park is a conservation area with high biodiversity potential, including spiders (Ordo Araneae) which play an important role as natural predators in maintaining ecosystem balance. However, information regarding the structure of the spider community in this area is still limited. This study aims to analyze the structure of the spider community based on species composition, diversity index, evenness, and dominance in Kerandangan Nature Park, West Lombok. This study was conducted in 2025 with two replications in three management blocks, namely intensive use, limited use, and protection. Sampling was carried out using the sweep net method and pitfall traps. Data analysis used the Shannon–Wiener index (H'), evenness index (E'), and Simpson dominance index (D'). The results showed that the spider community consisted of 25 species from seven families. The community composition was dominated by Pardosa pseudoannulata (42.2%), Cytaea haematica (12.64%), and Pardosa lapidicina (8%). The diversity index (H’) ranged from 0.73 to 2.60, the evenness index (E’) from 0.19 to 0.85, and the dominance index (D’) from 0.084 to 0.68. The conclusion is that the spider community structure is in the moderate and relatively stable category, thus supporting ecosystem balance in the area.
