Abstract

Since the integration of LIPI into BRIN in 2021, the Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense (MZB), which is managed by the coordinator of the zoological collection assisted by 20 collection technician staffs, has been transferred to the Directorate of Scientific Collections Management. The process of integration and management transfer does not change the main duties and functions of MZB as the national depository for zoological specimen collections. In addition to managing collections, researchers frequently ask MZB staff for assistance during field research and teaching collection management courses to students, teaching staff, and regional museum directors. The management of the MZB collection is described in a scientific publication for the first time. We hope that this documentation will continue so that museum management science can advance and assist the scientific community, particularly in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum at Makassar State University and evaluates its effectiveness in enhancing students’ career readiness. Employing a qualitative descriptive exploratory approach within a case study framework, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. Findings demonstrate that the eight MBKM programs—Student Exchange, Internship, Teaching Practice, Research, Humanitarian Project, Entrepreneurship, Independent Study, and Thematic Community Service—have significantly bridged the gap between academic learning and real-world professional demands. The MBKM initiatives have enhanced the relevance of academic content and contributed to the development of essential 21st-century soft skills, including adaptability, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, leadership, and empathy. Collaborative engagement with external partners such as industries, schools, and civil society organizations has further enriched student learning experiences. Overall, the MBKM curriculum plays a pivotal role in producing graduates who are creative, innovative, adaptive, and competitive in the global workforce. However, the study also identifies several implementation challenges, including curriculum integration, coordination with external partners, assessment mechanisms, and resource constraints. Based on these findings, the study recommends strengthening the evaluation of student learning outcomes, expanding institutional networks, improving the development of soft skills, and optimizing lecturer and mentor support to ensure the program's sustainability and long-term impact.

Abstract

This study analyzes the policy learning processes underlying poverty alleviation policy changes in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi Province. With a poverty rate of 13.06%—representing approximately 49,700 individuals in 2023—Jeneponto requires a policy framework that moves beyond charitable interventions toward strategies grounded in empowerment and institutional learning. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and were processed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that poverty alleviation policy changes in Jeneponto are not limited to technical or administrative adjustments but emerge from an iterative policy learning process. This approach has contributed to a modest reduction in the poverty rate from 13.26% in 2022 to 13.06% in 2023. While the decrease is incremental, it signifies a shift toward more reflective, responsive, and adaptive policymaking tailored to community needs. The study concludes that policy learning—through institutional reflexivity and stakeholder engagement—is central to enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of regional poverty alleviation efforts. The Jeneponto government’s evolving capacity for institutional and social adaptation underscores the importance of continuous learning in advancing public policy governance.

Abstract

The ability of land with different properties, regional characteristics, and soil nutrient status to affect the productivity of coffee plants is affected, so it is important to evaluate regional characteristics and soil nutrient status so that the land suitability class for coffee plant cultivation can be known. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the extent of the level of land and climate suitability of Bentenge Village, Mallawa Subdistrict, for robusta coffee cultivation. The research was conducted from September to December 2022 in Bentenge Village, Malawa District, Maros Regency, which has been cultivating coffee, especially robusta coffee, for decades. This research method uses a survey approach and laboratory analysis, whose results are interpreted into a land suitability map. Furthermore, data on regional conditions and nutrient status in Bentenge Village were juxtaposed with good coffee cultivation guidelines in MOA No. 49 of 2014 to determine the level of land suitability for robusta coffee cultivation. The results showed that the land in Bentenge Village, Mallawa Sub-district, is suitable (S2) to marginally suitable (S3) for the development of robusta coffee cultivation..

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the practice of buying and selling sweet potato leaves as pig feed in Kendekan Village, East Walenrang Subdistrict, Luwu Regency, from an Islamic law perspective. This study uses field research, through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research approach uses a normative and sociological approach with descriptive-qualitative analysis. In terms of the pillars and conditions of buying and selling, the transaction fulfils the provisions of a valid contract because it is carried out on the basis of mutual consent and the object is halal, namely sweet potato leaves. However, when viewed from the aspect of its use, this transaction falls into the category of fasid (corrupt) because it contains elements of mutual assistance in prohibited acts, as the proceeds from the sale and purchase are used to feed animals whose prohibition has been confirmed in Islamic law. The conclusion of this study states that the practice of buying and selling sweet potato leaves as pig feed in Kendekan Village is valid in terms of contract, but in substance it is not permitted in Islamic law because it contradicts the principle of sadd al-żarī‘ah. This study is expected to make a substantive contribution to the development of contemporary muamalah fiqh studies, particularly in enriching theoretical and practical perspectives in the field of Islamic economics.
