This negatively impacts the overall health of pregnant women and can cause hyperglycemia, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension. Gestational hypertension is an increase in blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg from normal after 20 weeks of pregnancy and is one of the dangerous impacts that occurs due to obesity in pregnant women which can cause death for the mother and baby. Objective: To find out how obesity can affect hypertension in pregnant women and what steps pregnant women should take to prevent obesity so they can reduce the risk of developing hypertension. Methods: The method used in this systematic literature review is PRISMA-P (Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols) in 2023. Studies were collected through searches on Google Scholar, Pubmed, Connector Paper data sources from 2018-2023 . Keyword searches used the PICO-S (Population Intervention Compare Outcome-Study design) technique. Results: Of the 1,053 journals and articles searched, nine journals and articles were found that fit the literature review title category. The results of this study showed that the influence of obesity is closely related to the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women. Conclusion: It was concluded that obesity can influence the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women.

Abstract

Sleep is a basic human need and is very important for physical and mental health. The sleep-wake cycle is regulated in a process known as circadian rhythm. Sleep disturbance is an event related to the quality, timing and frequency of sleep. Giving the hormone melatonin in an effort to treat sleep disorders is still under research. This study aims to identify the efficiency of using the hormone melatonin in treating sleep disorders. The method used is a systematic review by collecting existing data. The method used is PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items For Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis). The research results come from reviewing data obtained based on research that has been carried out. Providing the hormone melatonin in an effort to overcome sleep disorders has been proven to be effective. However, further research is still needed regarding the use of melatonin in multipathology patients.

Abstract

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease caused by bacteria from the genus *Leptospira*. This disease is one of the infectious diseases that are widespread throughout the world, especially in tropical and subtropical areas. Leptospirosis is transmitted to humans through direct contact with water, soil, or materials contaminated by the urine of infected animals. Animals such as rats, dogs, and livestock are often the main reservoirs of this bacteria. Humans can be infected when their skin or mucosa comes into contact with water or soil containing *Leptospira* bacteria, especially during floods or when working in wet environments. Clinically, leptospirosis can vary from asymptomatic infection to severe disease that can be fatal. Severe clinical manifestations, known as Weil's disease, can involve organ failure, including liver and kidney, and severe bleeding. In the context of the hematological and immunological systems, leptospirosis can cause disorders of blood cell function, including hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and changes in the leukocyte profile. The immune response to *Leptospira* is critical in determining disease severity, with uncontrolled immune mechanisms contributing to tissue and organ damage.

Abstract

Thyroid disorders, including congenital hypothyroidism (HK), can have a serious impact on a baby's development if not detected early. The congenital hypothyroidism (SHK) screening program aims to detect HK early in newborns. In Indonesia, the SHK program began in 2008 and in West Sumatra since 2011. Iodine deficiency in some regions increases the risk of thyroid disorders. Padang City will start implementing this program in 2023 at Siti Rahmah Hospital. This study describes thyroid function in newborns in the SHK program at Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2023. This study analyzes the thyroid function of newborns in the SHK program at Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2023. The study used a cross-sectional design with secondary data through the total sampling technique. This study analyzed the frequency distribution of TSH levels, gender, weight, body length, head circumference, chest circumference, abdominal circumspect, and gestational age in newborns (BBL) in the SHK program at Siti Rahmah Padang Islamic Hospital 2023. The majority of respondents had normal status in a variety of parameters, with more babies born at full term. Most newborns have euthyroid TSH with normal physical development. Genetic factors, maternal nutrition, and prematurity affect the growth and development of the baby.

Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute infection caused by Salmonella typhi, primarily occuring in developing countries, this condition can be diagnosed in various ways, one of which is through the neutrphil-lymphocyte-rasio (NLR) as an indikator of body inflammation. This study aims to assess the NLR typhoid fever patients at Siti Rahmah Islamic Hospital, Padang in 2023, as well asthe distribution based on age, gender, body temperature, and patient outcomes. This study employed a descriptive observational method with a cross-sectional design. Data were obtained from the medical records of typhoid fever patients who underwent at the hospital 2023. The sample was taken using a total sampling method, involving 29 patients. The study involved 29 typhoid fever patients, the majority of whom were female (65,5%) andn most commonly aged 0-5 years (44,8%). Most patients exhibited neutophilia (>70%) at 89,7% and lymphocytopenia (<20%) at 86,2%. The mean NLR value was 6,32, indicating inflammation. Most patients had febrile body temperature (38-39,9°C) at 65,5%. Based on the tubex scale 55,2% of patients had values greater than 6, indicating a strong likelihood of typhoid infection. A total of 65,5% of patients showed improvement after treatment. The NLR indicates an increas in neutrophil rasio and decrease un lymphocytes in typhoid fever patients. This study emphasizes the importance of NLR examination as supporting diagnositic tool and clinical management of typhoid fever.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which hemoglobin (Hb) or red blood cell levels are lower than normal, generally due to iron deficiency. Hb plays an important role in delivering oxygen and nutrients to the body. The prevalence of anaemia in women aged ≥15 years is high globally, with Southeast Asia as the most common region. In Indonesia, anemia in adolescent girls is increasing, impacting growth, development, learning, and achievement. This study examines the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with anemia in MAN 1 Padang. The selection of MAN 1 Kuranji Padang was based on the high prevalence of anemia in the area, although there had been no similar research before. This study seeks the relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards anemia status in adolescent girls in MAN 1 Padang in 2024. The study used a cross-sectional design with primary and secondary data through purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that out of 87 respondents, 51 people (58.6%) had anemia, with the majority aged 16 years (79 people, 90.8%). The level of knowledge and attitude towards anemia was mostly in the poor category, as many as 54 people (62.1%) and 52 people (59.8%), respectively. Data analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and attitude and anemia status (P-value 0.00 < 0.05). Most adolescent girls in MAN 1 Padang have a low level of knowledge and attitude towards anemia, which is related to the high prevalence of anemia in this group.

Abstract

The high incidence of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in the elderly in Padang is due to several factors, one of which is an unhealthy lifestyle, namely consumption of foods high in fat, so preventive and promotive efforts are needed in the form of early detection of DM risk factors as well as providing education and health education. to the public about matters relating to DM. The increase in the incidence of DM is related to the increase in the elderly population, economic development, decreased consumption of healthy foods, physical activity and obesity, especially central obesity. Elderly is an advanced stage of the life process that shows signs of decreased physical ability to adapt to environmental pressures which will be measured using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ).
