Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia is geologically vulnerable to disasters until now. Everyone has a potential risk to meet disaster, there for disaster management is somehow important. However, disaster management nowadays often involved related agencies only, but has not involved the society's active role in order to response to disaster emergency. Objective: This aim of this study was to determine the effect of disaster response by cadres training on disaster preparedness in RW 36, Kelurahan Mojosongo Kecamatan Jebres Kota Surakarta Method: This study used quasi experimental design with pre and posttest without control group. A total of 30 cadres were given training for disaster response cadres and their disaster preparedness was measured before and after the training was given. This research instrument used disaster preparedness questionnaire and a flood disaster response module. The data analysis used nonparametric test, namely Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of this study indicate that there was an effect of disaster response training on disaster preparedness with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test which result in a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusion:The results of this study were expected to become program innovations for disaster response cadres to increase disaster preparedness

Abstract

Backgrounds: Hypertension is a disease that affects many elderly people. One effort that can be done to treat hypertension is to provide a combination therapy of progressive muscle relaxation and music therapy (RESIK). Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of RESIK therapy on clients with hypertension. Methods: The type of research used is a case study with a total sample of 3 respondents. The implementation of this study began with a pre test (measurement of blood pressure before being given RESIK therapy). Then give RESIK therapy 2x a day for 6 days with a duration of 25-30 minutes. After 6 days, blood pressure was measured again as post test data. Research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: Research results withWilcoxon test obtained sig. (2-tailed) has a value of 0.002 where the value is 0.002 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the combination therapy of progressive muscle relaxation and music therapy (RESIK) on blood pressure in the elderly. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of RESIK therapy on reducing blood pressure in the elderly. Elderly people with hypertension are expected to carry out this RESIK therapy intervention independently, practically, efficiently and serve as an alternative complementary therapy to reduce blood pressure.

Abstract

Backgrounds: An elderly group is a high-risk group for suffering from health problems, one of which is joint pain. Joint pain in the elderly will affect their quality of life of the elderly. One of the complementary therapies to reduce joint pain in the elderly is a Combination Therapy of Acupressure and Warm Compresses (Aku-SeHat). Objectives: This case study aims to determine the effect of a Combination Therapy of Acupressure and Warm Compresses (Aku-SeHat) to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Methods: The research method uses a case study design. The sample used was 3 elderly with inclusion criteria belonging to having complaints of knee joint pain in the category of severe pain (scale 7-10) and being able to participate in therapy with predetermined procedures and time. Aku-SeHat therapy is carried out 7 times in 7 days for 30 minutes. Univariate data analysis is presented in the frequency distribution while bivariate analysis uses the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of the case study showed that there was a significant effect of giving Aku-SeHat therapy to reduce joint pain in the elderly with the Wilcoxon test results obtained a p-value of 0.0001 (p <0.05). Conclusion: The results of the case study showed that there was a significant effect of giving Aku-SeHat therapy to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Therefore, it is hoped that Aku-SeHat therapy can be an alternative to complementary therapy as a nursing intervention to reduce joint pain.

Abstract

Background: Teenager girls who have experienced menstruation are at high risk of suffering from anemia. Anemia is a level of hemoglobin or the number of red blood cells that is less than normal. One strategy that can be done to overcome the problem of anemia is by giving dragon fruit juice therapy and anemia exercises. This study aims to increase hemoglobin levels in teenage girls with anemia. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the effect of dragon fruit juice and anemia exercises (BuNga SaNemi) in teenage girls with anemia. Methods: This research used a quantitative approach with the case study method. The research design was a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest without a control group design. Respondents were 2 teenager girls. The intervention was given for 7 days, namely 3 times exercise with a duration of 4-5 minutes and dragon fruit juice every day. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. Results: Provision of dragon fruit juice and anemia exercise (BuNga SaNemi) was proven to increase hemoglobin with an average increase of 7.5gr/dl. The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis are Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05 which indicates a significant difference in the hemoglobin value of the two clients before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Giving dragon fruit juice and anemia exercise (BuNga SaNemi) can be used as an alternative method to increase hemoglobin in teenager girls with anemia.

Abstract

Nursing students need effective learning methods to improve their abilities and skills in achieving competency. Virtual care reality in 360o videos is an alternative solution to a real and concrete learning method. This study aims to determine the effect of virtual care reality in 360o (VCR 360o) videos on compliance with standard precautions in nursing professional students. The study used a randomized control trial with the sample of 32 students for each group was obtained through a random sampling technique. This research was conducted at two state universities in Indonesia in 2022 and provided an intervention in the form of a 360o VCR for 17 minutes at least three times in each video containing material on standard precautions. A standard precautions compliance questionnaire was employed to investigate the main variable with a further analysis using paired t-test and independent t-test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect of the VCR 360o on increasing standard precautions compliance among students (p = 0.004). The research results are expected to be applied in the learning process of nurses in tertiary institutions and other learning topics.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases around the world. Hypertension influence so many aspect in patient’s live, not only physically but psychologically as well. Identifying and understanding factors related with treatment adherence in patient with hypertension can be very important to develop specific strategies to increase patient’s quality of life, prevent complications, and reduce re-hospitalization rate in patient with hypertension. Objective: This paper reviewed and synthesized the previous studies of factors related with treatment adherence in patient with hypertension. Method: Literature study in 15 journals through Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), PubMed, Ovid, Taylor and Francis, and Science Direct, and manual searching from the reference list of previous obtained using keywords definition of treatment adherence, dimension of treatment adherence in patient with hypertension, and factors related with treatment adherence in patient with hypertension. Data were analyzed in tables contain title, author, year, methodology, result, and recommendation. Result: Patient adherence to treatment can be describe as an extent of patient’s behavior to follow the medication, diet, and lifestyle changes as recommended by the healthcare provider. Treatment adherence represents patient’s behavior after discussion between patient and healthcare provider. Patient have right to agree or refuse the treatment after get enough information from healthcare provider. Conclusion: The individualized approach can be very useful to assess and understand the cause of patient non-adherence with treatment hypertension. In the future this information can be useful to decide nursing theory that fit to underpinning the intervention and also can be used to plan intervention to increase treatment adherence of patient with hypertension.

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan faktor utama penyebab kematian manusia secara global. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan namun belum optimal. Kondisi tersebut mendorong para akademisi untuk mengembangkan terapi non farmakologis guna melengkapi terapi farmakologis salah satunya dengan relaksasi otot progresif dan terapi musik. Kombinasi terapi benson, relaksasi otot progresif dan terapi musik (BEN-RESIK) dapat menghambat vasokonstriksi pembuluh darah melalui stimulasi baroreseptor. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pencegahan tekanan darah tinggi pada klien dengan hipertensi di Desa Banteran Kecamatan Sumbang. Warga yang mengikuti kegiatan ini sebanyak 40 orang yang terdiri dari 38 perempuan dan 2 laki-laki dengan rentang umur 30-70 tahun. Pendekatan utama yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, redemonstrasi. Pengabdi mengukur pengetahuan pencegahan hipertensi pada klien dengan hipertensi terlebih dahulu. Lalu klien diberikan Pendidikan Kesehatan pencegahan hipertensi melakukan terapi RESIK selama selama 30-45 menit. Setelah itu pengabdi mengukur kembali pengetahuan pencegahan hipertensi pada klien. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan pencegahan hipertensi dengan rata-rata skor awal 7,5 menjadi 9,5. Oleh karena itu, mitra mendapatkan ipteks dalam upaya menurunkan tekanan darah.

Abstract

Background: Current learning methods continue to develop, nursing students need effective learning methods to improve students' abilities and skills in achieving competencies, one of which is fulfilling human needs: oxygenation. Virtual care reality in 3600 video can be a real and concrete alternative learning method solution for students.Method: This research aims to determine the effect of virtual care reality in 3600 videos on skills in fulfilling basic human needs: oxygenation in nursing students. The research used a quasi experimental pre-post test design using a control group. The intervention group was given treatment in the form of Virtual Care Reality in video 3600 (VCR 3600) for 15 minutes at least three times in each video. VCR 3600 contains material about fulfilling basic human needs for oxygenation including suction, use of nasal cannulas, masks (Non-Rebreathing Mask/NRM and Rebreathing Mask/RM). Post-test measurements were carried out two weeks after the VCR 3600 intervention was carried out for the internalization phase first. The benefit of this research is that it is hoped that the VCR 3600 will be able to improve skills in fulfilling basic human needs: oxygenation in nursing studentsResults: The results of this study show that respondents are aged 18 - 20 years, with a median value of 19 years. The gender of the respondents was mostly female, the majority of respondents had never studied suction, the majority of respondents had never had experience studying material about administering oxygen therapy. The mean skills of suctioning and oxygen administration of respondents after the intervention in the intervention and control groups both increased. The results of further analysis showed that there was no significant difference in skills after the intervention between the intervention group and the control group (p value < 0.05).Conclusion: The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the skills of respondents after the intervention regarding suction and administering oxygen with standard precautions. Although there is no statistical effect of the VCR 3600 method on suctioning and oxygenation skills, the use of this method has the opportunity to increase students' knowledge and be used as a variation of practical learning methods.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) adalah penyakit kronis yang terjadi akibat ketidakmampuan pankreas dalam memproduksi insulin yang cukup atau tubuh yang tidak mampu menggunakan insulin secara efektif. Penyakit ini dapat menyebabkan komplikasi serius seperti gangguan kardiovaskular. Indonesia merupakan negara dengan jumlah penderita diabetes tertinggi keempat di dunia dan diperkirakan jumlah penderita DM akan meningkat pesat dalam beberapa tahun ke depan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pencegahan Diabetes Melitus pada masyarakat dengan kadar gula darah tinggi di RW 02 dan 03 Desa Banteran, Kecamatan Sumbang, melalui edukasi kesehatan mengenai pola makan 3J (Jumlah, Jenis, Jadwal Makanan) dan senam kaki DM. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan edukasi dan demonstrasi terkait materi 3J dan senam kaki DM. Peserta kegiatan sebanyak 40 orang yang merupakan kader Kartini Jogo Tonggo Desa Banteran. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta dari rata-rata 7,9 menjadi 8,5 setelah edukasi. Peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama kegiatan dan melaporkan peningkatan kenyamanan setelah senam. Peserta disarankan dapat melakukan secara mandiri senam kaki DM dan mengajarkan kepada orang lain agar program dapat berkelanjutan dan lebih bermanfaat.

Abstract

School health nursing is one of the areas in community nursing that is focused on efforts to prevent and manage infectious diseases by emphasizing preventive and promotive efforts. Providing education related to reproductive health significantly affects individual sexual knowledge and behavior (Hu et al., 2023). Based on the results of the assessment that has been done at SD N 1 Banteran, the results show that from a total sample of 10 children, all of them do not understand what reproductive health is and how to maintain reproductive health and 3 out of 6 female students have menstruated. The purpose of this community service is that grade 6 students of SD Negeri 1 Banteran can understand about maintaining reproductive health. The target of this activity is 6th grade elementary school students consisting of 30 students. The target was determined based on the results of interviews and observations carried out using the observation sheet method through google forms. Activities were carried out with education and demonstrations in the school environment regarding reproductive health issues using the pretest and posttest methods. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that there is a difference in the level of knowledge in the good category pretest as many as 10 students (33.3%) and posttest 19 students (63.35). Educational activities and reproductive health gymnastics have an effect on increasing students' knowledge related to reproductive health.
