Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students’ mathematical understanding because most students find it very difficult to quickly absorb and understand mathematics subjects. In addition, students learning mathematics is not yet meaningful, so students’ understanding of concepts is very weak. The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in learning with a scientific approach is a learning process that is designed in such a way that students actively construct concepts, laws or principles as well as organize learning experiences in a logical sequence including the learning process: 1) observing; 2) inquiring; 3) collecting information/trying; 4) reasoning/associating; and 5) communicate. This study aims to find out whether there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical comprehension skills of students in the experimental class to the control class, and the attitude of students towards mathematics learning to use a scientific approach. The research method used is the experimental Quasee method with a random, pre-test, post-test design. The subjects in this study were 42 people in the experimental and control class of grade VII students of State Junior High School in Cianjur district. The results of the research obtained in the form of pre-test scores and gain index scores were then processed by the statistical method of testing the difference between two averages. The results showed that there was a difference in the improvement of mathematical comprehension skills of students in the experimental class and the control class. The improvement of mathematical comprehension skills of students who received learning with a scientific approach was better than students who received conventional learning. Students’ attitudes towards mathematics learning with a scientific approach are mostly positive, this can be seen from the scale of students’ attitudes.

Abstract

Inclusive learning is an approach that guarantees the fulfillment of educational rights for all students, including slow learners with Special Needs (ABK). This study aims to provide an overview of the implementation strategy for inclusive learning for slow learners, as well as to raise awareness for students about the importance of prioritizing gender equality through learning of science subjects in vocational high schools. This study uses a systematic literature review, also known as a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA method. Data sources in this study use 10 journals and 1 book. The results of this research data are that the strategy for implementing inclusive learning and gender equality in science project learning in vocational schools can be implemented by planning learning that is tailored to the needs of slow learner students, so that there is no more discrimination against in teaching and learning activities with project-based learning so that gender sensitivity and inclusion can be truly measured and instilled in students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen evaluasi berbasis kompetensi untuk pembelajaran matematika kelas VIII di SMP Amal Mulia 2, Cileungsi. Instrumen ini dirancang untuk mengukur pencapaian kompetensi dasar (KD) yang meliputi pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan memiliki validitas yang sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata 90%. Uji coba lapangan menunjukkan bahwa instrumen memiliki reliabilitas yang tinggi (α = 0,87) dan mampu mengukur pencapaian kompetensi siswa secara komprehensif. Dengan demikian, instrumen evaluasi berbasis kompetensi ini layak digunakan sebagai alat asesmen dalam pembelajaran matematika kelas VIII

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in mathematics for eighth-grade students at SMP Al Munir Tambun Utara. The research was motivated by the need to improve students’ understanding, motivation, and active participation in mathematics learning, which are often limited by conventional teaching methods. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method involving classroom observations, student worksheets, and interviews with teachers and students. The data were analyzed through stages of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the PjBL approach significantly enhances students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Students demonstrated higher engagement, creativity, and collaboration during project activities, and teachers reported that PjBL facilitated contextual learning experiences. However, challenges were identified in time management and students’ initial adaptation to independent learning. Overall, PjBL is effective in fostering meaningful learning and critical thinking in mathematics classrooms.

Abstract

Formative assessment is an essential part of the learning process that provides continuous feedback to students to help them improve and enhance their learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing formative assessment on students’ mathematics learning outcomes at SD Islam Al Azkiya Depok. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The study population consisted of 60 fifth-grade students divided into two groups: an experimental class (30 students) that received structured learning with formative assessment, and a control class (30 students) that used conventional learning without continuous formative assessment. The research instruments included a mathematics learning achievement test and an observation sheet for the implementation of formative assessment. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-test to determine the differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results showed that the implementation of formative. Assessment had a significant effect on students’ mathematics learning outcomes, with the experimental class achieving an average score of 83.47, higher than the control class’s average of 76.20. The t-test results indicated that t_calculated (3.82) > t_table (2.00) at a significance level of 0.05, meaning that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of formative assessment has a positive and significant effect on improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes at SD Islam Al Azkiya Depok

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of authentic assessment in the math learning process at SMP Negeri 1 Cikidang. Authentic assessment is a type of evaluation that measures students’ ability to apply knowledge and skills in real-life contexts rather than through conventional tests. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that teachers have begun to implement authentic assessment in alignment with the Merdeka Curriculum, focusing on student competencies, creativity, and critical thinking. However, challenges remain in rubric development, time allocation, and teacher understanding of assessment principles. The study concludes that authentic assessment contributes positively to meaningful learning, yet continuous professional development is needed to optimize its implementation.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas proses pembelajaran Fisika di kelas XII SMA Daarul Qur’an Cikarang tahun ajaran 2025/2026 dengan fokus pada strategi pedagogis guru dan respons peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif melalui penyebaran kuesioner berbasis skala Likert kepada 50 responden siswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan persentase untuk menilai kecenderungan persepsi terhadap kejelasan penyampaian materi, variasi metode pengajaran, pemanfaatan media pembelajaran, keterlibatan siswa, serta pemberian umpan balik oleh guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa menilai pembelajaran Fisika berlangsung secara efektif, interaktif, dan menyenangkan, dengan tingkat kepuasan keseluruhan mencapai 82%. Secara keseluruhan, evaluasi ini menegaskan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran Fisika di SMA Daarul Qur’an telah berada pada kategori baik dan relevan dengan prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka, namun tetap memerlukan penguatan pada dimensi inovasi dan kontekstualisasi pembelajaran.

Abstract

ABSTRACT A strong conceptual understanding of science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) is essential for high school students. However, many students struggle to translate theoretical understanding into practical problem-solving skills. Drills are often used to reinforce skills, but their implementation by science teachers varies, and their effectiveness in improving conceptual mastery requires further elaboration, beyond memorization. This study aims to describe the strategies employed by high school STEM teachers in implementing the drill method, to identify variations in its execution, and to analyze teacher’s perceptions of the method’s role in enhancing student’s conceptual understanding. A qualitative descriptive approach was adopted in this research. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to STEM subject teachers as the study’s participants. The data were analyzed using procedures involving data collection, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The drill strategies most commonly implemented by STEM teachers include varied problem sets that target conceptual understanding (rather than mere calculations), immediate feedback, and the use of technology for adaptive practice. Teachers tend to incorporate drill activities during the final phase of instruction. It was found that teachers who successfully linked drill exercises to real-world contexts demonstrated more significant improvements in their students’ conceptual mastery. The main challenges include preventing student boredom and avoiding an excessive focus on speed at the expense of understanding. The findings of this study suggest the need for professional development programs for STEM teachers that focus on innovative and contextually integrated drill strategies. Keywords: Science Teacher Strategy, Drill Method, Conceptual Mastery ABSTRAK Penguasaan konsep yang kuat dalam mata pelajaran MIPA (Matematika, Fisika, Kimia, Biologi) merupakan hal yang penting bagi siswa SMA. Namun, banyak siswa kesulitan mengubah pemahaman teoretis menjadi kemampuan memecahkan masalah praktis. Metode drill (latihan berulang) sering digunakan untuk memperkuat keterampilan, tetapi penerapannya oleh guru MIPA bervariasi dan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep perlu dideskripsikan lebih lanjut, bukan hanya sebagai penghafalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi yang digunakan oleh guru MIPA di SMA dalam mengimplementasikan metode drill, mengidentifikasi variasi pelaksanaannya, serta menganalisis persepsi mereka terkait peran metode ini dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket penelitian yang diberikan kepada guru mata pelajaran MIPA sebagai subjek penelitian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik pengumpulan data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Strategi drill yang paling sering diimplementasikan guru MIPA meliputi variasi soal yang menargetkan pemahaman konsep (bukan hanya perhitungan), umpan balik segera, dan penggunaan teknologi untuk latihan adaptif. Guru cenderung mengintegrasikan drill pada tahap akhir pembelajaran. Ditemukan bahwa guru yang berhasil mengaitkan drill dengan konteks dunia nyata menunjukkan peningkatan penguasaan konsep yang lebih signifikan pada siswanya. Tantangan utamanya adalah menghindari kebosanan siswa dan fokus pada kecepatan daripada pemahaman. Implikasi penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya pelatihan profesional bagi guru MIPA mengenai strategi drill yang inovatif dan terintegrasi secara kontekstual. Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method at New Concept English Education Centre in Indonesia, focusing on its integration with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). CLT emphasizes authentic communication and interactive pedagogy, aiming to improve students' speaking and listening skills. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis to assess how CLT enhances language acquisition. Findings reveal that incorporating ICT tools such as digital platforms, multimedia resources, and gamified applications significantly supports real-world communication, fostering engagement and motivation among learners. Despite these advancements, challenges persist, particularly regarding technology access and infrastructure. This study underscores the transformative potential of ICT-enhanced CLT in modern language education while offering insights for curriculum development and teacher training to optimize English language instruction in Indonesia and similar contexts.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes and participation of second-grade students at SDIT Al Furqon on the topic of measuring units of length, caused by the use of conventional lecture methods. The focus of this classroom action research was to improve student learning outcomes and teacher performance through the application of discussion methods combined with a length unit board. As a crucial step, this research was conducted in two cycles, each encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 22 second-grade students, with quantitative data from learning evaluations and qualitative data from teacher performance observations analyzed descriptively. The main findings showed significant improvement in each cycle. In cycle I, student learning completion reached 81.81%, increasing to 86.36% with an average score of 89.77 in cycle II. Teacher performance also improved substantially, with more effective time management and student interaction. In conclusion, the use of discussion methods and the length unit board as a teaching aid has proven effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes and teacher performance by transforming abstract concepts into concrete concepts and creating a more active classroom atmosphere. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar dan partisipasi siswa kelas II SDIT Al Furqon pada materi pengukuran satuan panjang, yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode ceramah konvensional. Fokus penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan kinerja guru melalui penerapan metode diskusi yang dikombinasikan dengan alat peraga papan satuan panjang. Sebagai langkah penting, penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, di mana setiap siklus mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 22 siswa kelas II, dengan data kuantitatif dari hasil evaluasi belajar dan data kualitatif dari observasi kinerja guru yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Temuan utama menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan di setiap siklus. Pada siklus I, ketuntasan belajar siswa mencapai 81,81%, dan meningkat menjadi 86,36% dengan rata-rata nilai 89,77 pada siklus II. Kinerja guru juga membaik secara substansial, dengan manajemen waktu dan interaksi siswa yang lebih efektif. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan metode diskusi dan alat peraga papan satuan panjang terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika dan kinerja guru, dengan mengubah konsep abstrak menjadi konkret serta menciptakan suasana kelas yang lebih aktif.
