Abstract

Ninth-grade Social Studies learning has not been fully effective due to the lack of varied instructional methods and the absence of adequate media to enhance students’ critical thinking skills at MTs in Semarang Regency. This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on the Canva and Heyzine applications to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection methods included interviews, observation, and questionnaires. The data collection instruments comprised Likert-scale (1–5) questionnaires and multiple-choice tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the interactive media based on Canva and Heyzine applications were validated by experts, with 82.95% for media expert validation and 89.73% for content expert validation, while trials with students achieved an average score of 93.58%. Therefore, the problem-based interactive media on the topic of globalization is deemed suitable for use in learning at MTs in Semarang Regency. Furthermore, the use of this media has proven effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The multidimensional paradigm of Indonesian historiography is an approach in the preparation of Indonesian history considering various dimensions involving cultural, social, political, economic and environmental aspects. This paradigm has great relevance in the context of history learning in Indonesia as it helps learners understand their rich and diverse history. This approach helps overcome biases in history. Indonesia's history over the centuries has been influenced by various ethnic, religious and cultural groups. By considering the multidimensional dimension, learning history can avoid narrow views that only reflect the viewpoint of one particular group or interest. Learners are thus encouraged to become critical thinkers and can also develop a deeper understanding of their own history. Especially in History, this paradigm supports historiography with an Indonesian-centric style.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to design a multiculturalism approach to teaching history; analyze opportunities and challenges regarding teaching history through a multicultural lens; and prepare a project-based learning model design with the theme of multiculturalism with material on the Cultural History of West Kalimantan. This research method is a literature review. This research uses library insights to examine 20 journal articles related to the content of the article topic. Articles are written based on secondary data sources. The data used was obtained based on research reports, books, and appropriate articles. The data collection method was carried out through a process of in-depth study and analysis of literature on multiculturalism in the history of education in Indonesia. The data analysis technique used in writing articles is qualitative analysis. This article provides insight into the multiculturalism approach to cultural history in the West Kalimantan region. The project-based learning (PjBL) learning model can be an example for teachers in designing learning models that suit the environment and conditions of students. The aim of learning with a multiculturalism approach is expected to provide good historical awareness for students to care for Indonesia's diversity and the variety of cultures that exist. In practice, students can instill an attitude of tolerant and respectful civic life, have empathy for others to create a just Indonesian nation, and uphold democratic values in life.

Abstract

Chemistry education often faces challenges due to limited access to laboratory facilities, particularly in abstract topics like buffer solutions, where hands-on experimentation is critical for conceptual understanding. This research aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Chemvilative, an Android-based interactive virtual laboratory designed to address these challenges by providing accessible, engaging, and hypothesis-driven simulations for teaching buffer solutions in high school chemistry. The study addresses challenges related to limited laboratory facilities and the need for more accessible and engaging learning tools. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) methodology based on the ADDIE model, which guided the process from analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Chemvilative was validated by chemistry experts, teachers, and students. Feasibility was assessed via a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire (material and media), while effectiveness was measured through pre-test/post-test comparisons (N = 120 students). Results showed that Chemvilative significantly improved students' conceptual understanding compared to traditional teaching methods. There was a 15% increase in post-test scores. The virtual laboratory was rated as highly feasible. It provides clear visualizations and interactive simulations that enhance both learning motivation and comprehension. These findings suggest that Chemvilative is a practical and effective alternative for chemistry learning, especially in environments with limited laboratory resources. Future research should expand Chemvilative to other chemistry topics and evaluate its scalability across diverse student populations.

Abstract

Sebelas Maret University Surakarta declared itself a Pancasila Fortress Campus, one of its objectives being to prevent the recurrence of events that undermined the Pancasila ideology in the past, including radicalism and intolerance; this was announced when UNS commemorated Pancasila Day on 1 October 2018. As a consequence of this declaration, UNS has constructed six places of worship located in a single area, namely: Mosques, Catholic churches, Christian churches, Buddhist temples, Hindu temples, and Chinese temples. This study uses qualitative methods, with data collection techniques using document studies or documentation, namely from books and articles related to the challenges of Pancasila as the ideology and foundation of the Republic of Indonesia.  In efforts to strengthen itself as a Pancasila Fortress Campus, there are several programs and activities that have been and continue to be implemented, including Pancasila Education lectures; Citizenship Education; and the establishment of the Pancasila Implementation Study Centre (PSPP). The challenges faced by UNS as a Pancasila Fortress Campus include individualism, market liberalism, radicalism, religious fundamentalism; the weakening of the practice and actualisation of Pancasila; and the lack of Pancasila role models.
