Abstract

Based on interviews and analysis, the management of Super Chicken Noodle Eatery conducts comprehensive production cost calculations in determining the selling price. They consider various factors, including raw material costs, labor costs, and factory overhead costs. Additionally, they also take into account external market conditions, such as competitor prices, the level of competition, and consumer preferences. By considering these various factors, the management strives to establish competitive selling prices in the market. However, they face several challenges in the pricing process. One of the main challenges is the unstable fluctuations in raw material prices, which can significantly impact production costs. Additionally, the high level of competition in the local market is also a factor to be considered. Furthermore, the management also struggles with adjusting prices to changes in consumer preferences. Another challenge faced is the increasing factory overhead costs that tend to rise over time. This demands careful and flexible analysis from the management in determining selling prices that remain competitive in the market. Through a comprehensive approach in calculating production costs and considering external factors, the management of Super Chicken Noodle Eatery strives to achieve competitive selling prices in the market while still maintaining profitability.

One of the countries that has also been affected by this pandemic is Indonesia.  Having a large area, of course, makes the Indonesian government expected to move quickly in dealing with the pandemic that has caused turmoil in several sectors of the Indonesian economy, one of which is the tourism sector.  The policies implemented by the government brought the community into a period called the New Normal era.  Tourist villages are expected to be able to start opening tourism activities, one of which is homestays by implementing strict health protocol which are summarized in the Cleanliness, Health, and Safety (CHS) program, even by the CHS ministry this is used as a new competency in the hope of increasing public trust in the new normal era. This study aims to discover the implementation of CHS in homestays in Sikasur Tourism Village during the New Normal period. This study uses a naturalistic method. This method is used to research in a natural place. There is an answer finding in this study related to the application of CHS to homestays in this new normal period, namely the shadow of fear of the spread of covid must be eliminated through the readiness of each tourism actor, continue to obey the health protocols during the process of building tourism and eliminate first looking for as much profit as possible.  Which actually worsened the situation and harmed many parties.

Abstract

The hospitality industry faces significant challenges in maintaining consistent service quality amidst increasingly intense global competition. Employee Self-efficacy, or confidence in one’s own abilities, is a crucial factor influencing service performance; however, an in-depth understanding of its mechanisms within a multicultural context remains limited. This study aims to explore the Self-efficacy experiences of employees in international hotels in Malaysia and examine how these experiences impact their service performance. The findings reveal that employee Self-efficacy manifests in three key dimensions: confidence in technical abilities, adaptability, and interpersonal skills. The development of Self-efficacy occurs through four stages: acclimatization to workplace culture, experiential learning, internalization of organizational values, and the cultivation of specific expertise. Key supporting factors include comprehensive training systems, social support, fair reward systems, career development opportunities, team cultural diversity, and autonomy in decision-making. Self-efficacy plays a central role in determining the quality of hotel employee performance through complex mechanisms influenced by the multicultural workplace context. These findings provide theoretical contributions to the development of Self-efficacy theory within multicultural organizations and practical implications for human resource management in the hospitality industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and work environment on employee loyalty at PT Sumber Bintang Rejeki, a multinational garment company based in Semarang. The main issue addressed is the limited comprehensive understanding of how these two factors simultaneously impact employee loyalty in labor-intensive garment industries. This research employs a quantitative explanatory approach involving 141 respondents selected using Slovin’s formula. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that both leadership style and work environment have a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty, with the work environment having a more dominant influence. These findings highlight the importance of integrating effective leadership practices with a supportive work environment to enhance employee loyalty. The study contributes to the development of human resource management theory and offers strategic recommendations for employee management in the garment industry. The research is limited by its focus on a single location and a narrow scope of variables, suggesting future studies explore broader variables and settings to deepen insights.

Abstract

This study aims to explore work competencies and identify employee performance challenges in achieving production targets at PT. Woori Sukses Apparel Semarang. The competitive garment industry requires employees to possess adequate competencies in order to meet the production targets set by the company. However, various internal and external challenges often become obstacles to achieving optimal performance. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon being studied. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with employees from various levels, direct observation of work processes, and analysis of company documents. The research informants consisted of supervisors, production operators, quality control personnel, and administrative staff selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns and themes that emerged from the collected data. The results of the study show that employee competencies at PT. Woori Sukses Apparel Semarang include technical competencies such as operating sewing machines, mastering sewing techniques, and understanding product quality standards. Non-technical competencies include communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability to changing production targets. Performance challenges faced by employees include time pressure to meet daily targets, limited skills in handling complex product models, lack of continuous training, and work environment conditions that affect productivity. The study also reveals a gap between the competencies possessed by employees and the increasingly complex job demands. Factors such as time management, work motivation, and organizational support role in determining the success of achieving production targets.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the meanings of compensation, motivation, and job satisfaction for garment industry workers within the context of Indonesian culture, responding to the phenomenon of high job dissatisfaction despite compensation meeting the regional minimum wage standards. Using an interpretivist phenomenological approach, the research was conducted at PT Sam-Sam Jaya Garments, located in the Bawen Industrial Area, Semarang Regency, over a period of eight months. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 18 informants (13 women and 5 men) from various job levels, participatory observations, and organizational document analysis. Thematic analysis using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman identified three main themes: compensation as a symbol of recognition and justice, encompassing material, symbolic, and relational dimensions; layered motivation consisting of survival, actualization, and contribution; and holistic job satisfaction that integrates material, relational, developmental, contributive, and spiritual dimensions. The findings reveal a unique concept of “collective compensation” in Javanese culture, where satisfaction is not solely determined by individual achievement but also by group success. The study develops an “Integrated Cultural Work Experience” model, showing that the three constructs operate within a dynamic system that mutually reinforces each other within the framework of local cultural values. The theoretical contributions include the development of a culturally responsive concept of compensation, motivation that integrates spiritual dimensions, and job satisfaction as a holistic phenomenon. Practical implications include the need for compensation systems that emphasize transparency and collective recognition, as well as motivational programs that integrate local cultural values. This research opens opportunities for developing more culturally sensitive and contextual human resource management theories.

Abstract

Employee loyalty is a strategic asset that determines an organization's long-term success in facing increasingly intense business competition. This study aims to identify the factors influencing employee loyalty, analyze its impact on organizational performance, and formulate effective and sustainable strategies for improving loyalty. The research adopts a descriptive-exploratory qualitative approach, involving 14 informants. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies. Data analysis used a manual thematic analysis technique with a constant comparative approach and data triangulation to enhance the validity of the findings. The results show that employee loyalty at PT Sumber Bintang Rejeki is influenced by three main categories of factors. Organizational factors include an underdeveloped organizational culture with inconsistent implementation of values across departments, a human resource management system that needs improvement particularly in compensation and career development and diverse leadership styles that create inconsistencies in employee experience. Individual factors show that employees with longer tenure tend to have higher loyalty, while demographic characteristics such as gender and age influence loyalty perspectives in different ways. Work environment factors include physical conditions that need improvement, especially in the production department, and varying quality of interpersonal relationships across departments, with horizontal communication still being a challenge. The implementation of strategies is carried out through a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system using a combination of quantitative indicators such as turnover rate and satisfaction surveys, as well as qualitative indicators through regular focus group discussions.

Abstract

The main issue addressed is the significant gap between the work experience of new graduates and industry demands, where Fresh graduates often encounter obstacles in securing their first job due to the lack of practical field experience. This phenomenon creates a paradox in which companies require experienced workers, while new graduates need opportunities to gain such experience. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted at Netjes College to gain an in-depth understanding of how motivation can serve as a compensatory factor for limited experience. The findings reveal that high intrinsic and extrinsic motivation can effectively bridge the experience gap through several mechanisms: increased willingness for independent learning, greater adaptability to new work environments, initiative in taking on additional responsibilities, and persistence in facing early career challenges. These results indicate that Fresh graduates with high motivation tend to be more proactive in seeking self-development opportunities and demonstrate competitive performance compared to candidates who possess experience but low motivation. The practical implication of this study is the importance for educational institutions to not only focus on transferring technical knowledge but also to develop students’ motivational aspects as essential preparation for transitioning from the academic world to the professional realm.
