Abstract

This study explores the role of brief note-taking and financial literacy in improving family financial management, particularly among women as the primary household financial managers. Conducted in Lamokato Village, Kolaka Regency, Indonesia, the research employs a quantitative pretest–posttest design involving 53 households to evaluate changes in financial knowledge following an educational intervention. The study aims to strengthen financial awareness, planning, and decision-making as foundations of household economic resilience. The pretest results show that 62.3% of respondents had only moderate financial knowledge, while posttest data indicate a significant improvement, with 94.34% demonstrating good financial literacy. The findings reveal that the integration of brief note-taking—such as systematic recording of income and expenditures—combined with financial literacy education enhances the ability of families to manage resources, save, reduce debt, and initiate investments. Financial mismanagement and consumptive spending patterns are identified as primary barriers to family financial well-being. The study concludes that structured financial education programs effectively empower families, particularly women, to achieve better budgeting discipline and financial independence. These results highlight the essential role of financial literacy in reducing financial stress, promoting sustainable financial behavior, and supporting inclusive economic development. The study provides practical implications for policymakers and educators to design targeted community-based financial training programs that foster long-term household stability.

Abstract

One of the challenges faced by students from SMKN Pringsurat in the civil construction implementation survey was related to field soil testing. Generally, SMKN Pringsurat students already have a basic understanding of civil engineering competencies, but still experience difficulties in several areas, particularly field soil testing. Therefore, to improve competency, training was conducted on the application of concrete testing in the field. The training focused on soil bearing capacity testing for SMKN Pringsurat. Based on questionnaire results, after the training, an average of >60% of SMKN Pringsurat students were able to correctly understand and understand the soil testing procedure in the field using the DCP tool, as well as how to analyze the test data. Direct training and intensive mentoring were effective methods, making it easier for students to absorb the material. 70% of students stated that the training was easy to understand.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to identify teachers’ perceptions of reading literacy and the strategies used to enhance literacy skills at State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Baubau City. Methodology: The research employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method to explore teachers’ views and experiences. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Instruments used include interview guides, observation sheets, and document analysis formats. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Main Findings: The study finds that teachers hold diverse perceptions of reading literacy, ranging from basic technical reading skills to deep critical comprehension. Strategies such as the phoneme-grapheme approach, group discussions, and project-based learning are adapted to suit different grade levels. Key challenges include a lack of reading materials, insufficient support from the family environment, and inadequate school policies on literacy. Nevertheless, the use of interactive and collaborative strategies has enhanced students’ critical thinking, especially in interpreting religious texts. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study provides a contextual understanding of how teachers at Islamic elementary schools in regional Indonesia perceive and approach reading literacy. It underscores the integral relationship between teacher perception, pedagogical strategy, and environmental factors in cultivating a literacy culture especially in religious education contexts where critical reading plays a vital role.
