Abstract

The deviation of social behavior of elementary school students lately is very alarming, it requires preventive and curative efforts in handling it.The focus of this study would like to see the contribution of outdoor education activities to students' self concept in the primary school of the UPI Campus Tasikmalaya Campus, Indonesia. 32 students were selected as samples through purposive sampling technique. The experimental method was used in this study. Data obtained through self concept scale questionnaire. The results of the study mentioned Outdoor Education activities contributed to the development of self concept. This finding can be used as an alternative by physical education teachers in the context of innovation and learning variation. Further research can be carried out on the development of other affective aspects such as assertive behavior. Abstrak Penyimpangan perilaku sosial siswa sekolah dasar akhir-akhir ini sangat memprihatinkan, diperlukan upaya preventif dan kuratif dalam menanganinya. Fokus penelitian ini ingin melihat kontribusi aktivitas outdoor education terhadap self concept siswa di sekolah dasar laboratorium percontohan UPI Kampus Tasikmalaya, Indonesia. Sebanyak 32 siswa dipilih menjadi sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling. Metode eksperimen digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner skala self concept. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan aktivitas Outdoor Education memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan self concept. Temuan ini dapat dijadikan alternatif oleh para guru pendidikan jasmani dalam rangka inovasi dan variasi pembelajaran. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan terhadap pengembangan aspek afektif lainnya seperti perilaku assertif.

Abstract

In physical education learning activities, motivational factors become one of the key activeness of students in moving. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a technical approach using techniques to motivate teaching by invitation to learning motivation in physical education learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study involving the dick group consisting of 25 students (12 male and 13 female) and the experimental group consisting of 23 students (11 male and 12 female). The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire with a reliability score of alpha Cronbah 0.896. The results showed that there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups with a t value of 3.022 and a significance of 0.004 0.05. The technique of motivating teaching by invitation effectively can increase student motivation in participating in physical education learning. AbstrakPada kegiatan pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani (penjas), faktor motivasi menjadi salah satu kunci keaktifan siswa dalam bergerak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan teknis menggunakan teknik memotivasi teaching by invitation terhadap motivasi belajar dalam pembelajaran penjas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan melibatkan kelompok kontrol sebanyak 25 siswa (12 laki-laki dan 13 perempuan) dan kelompok eksperimen terdiri dari 23 siswa (11 laki-laki dan 12 perempuan). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi dengan reliabilitas skor alpha Cronbah 0.896. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan nilai t hitung 3,022 dan signifikansi 0,004 0,05. Teknik memotivasi teaching by invitation secara efektif mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran penjas.

Abstract

Cooperation is an important aspect to be owned by students to support their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to find out elementary school student cooperative skills through outbound activity. The descriptive method was chosen to describe the cooperative ability of 20 lower-class students, aged 7-9 years. The data were collected through an electronic instrument of cooperative rubric covering three aspects, including communication, responsibility, and helping each other. The obtained data were analyzed by using descriptive statistical analysis to describe the cooperative level of the students in the outbound activity. The result of the study showed that the student cooperative skill was very low. It was shown by the development of the score. The score on the communication aspect was 44%. The score on the responsibility aspect was 29%. The score on helping each other was 33%. This condition should become an evaluation for the elementary school teachers to find out an alternative solution to overcome the problems. In addition, technology utilization, such as electronic rubric, could help teachers in conducting observation to evaluate the student’s learning development in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research examined the impact of outdoor education on student assertive attitude in Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Elementary School, Tasikmalaya Campus, Indonesia. The problem gained by the researcher in the learning process was the negative behavior that the researcher aimed to study. The samples of the study were 32 students chosen through a purposive sampling technique. The experimental method was used in this study. The data were obtained through an Assertive Scale questionnaire. The researcher conducted an initial study with the result 0,662. The final score of the research was 0,504, showing that Outdoor Education had a significant impact on assertive attitude development. This finding shows that outdoor education can be an alternative for the teachers of Physical Education at elementary schools to implement moral and ethics learning as well as a learning variation. The further research is suggested to conduct a research related to other affective aspects, such as emotion and empathy. The outdoor education indirectly gives impacts on the student attitude and acts as a self-reminder.

Abstract

Courage should be stimulated since childhood, so it is necessary to introduce aquatic activities from an early age. The initial ability of a child courage in doing aquatic activities in the swimming pool needs to be examined to describe a child initial condition before doing activities in water games. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the character strength based on the courage of elementary school students in aquatic activities. Descriptive research method was used to describe the research results. The population of this study included 21 Grade 3 students of the Laboratory Elementary School of UPI Tasikmalaya. All 21 students aged 9-10 years (11 males and 10 females) became samples of this study, selected through a total sampling technique, to fill out a google form questionnaire. The results, obtained from the character strength analysis based on the student courage in aquatic activities, showed that all of 21 children had a high level of courage. It implies that the result of this study can be used as a material for the preparation of intervention program through aquatic activities to further develop character strengths in elementary schools.
