Abstract

This research was conducted by isolating potential fungi from soil samples exposed the herbicides with the active ingredient of isopropylamine glyphosate (IAG) and then testing the degradation ability of the obtained fungal isolates. The results showed 15 isolates fungi obtained from the soil to a depth of 10 cm including Aspergillus sp. with black, green and yellow colonies, Cladosporium sp., Penicillum sp., Rhizopus sp., Mucor sp., Cephalosporium sp., Phymatotrichum sp., Pytopthora sp., Curvularia sp., Microsporum sp., Colletothricum sp., Acremonium sp., Tricophyton sp. and 4 isolates from soil samples with a depth of 20 cm, namely Chrysosporium sp., Geotrichum sp., Aspergillus sp. with black and green colonies. However, after testing for the presence of herbicides with concentrations of 10 ppm, 20 ppm, and 30 ppm, only 2 isolates were able to survive, namely Aspergillus sp with black and green colonies. Further testing on the ability to degrade the IAG was found to reduce the concentration of herbicide. The optimum biodegradability to IAG of Aspergillus sp. green and black found in P20 (20 ppm) treatment at the 5th day of incubation, namely 98.69 ppm for Aspergillus sp. green, and 96.11 ppm for Aspergillus sp. black. Keywords: Aspergillus sp., Biodegradation, Fungi, Herbicide, Isoprofile amine glyphosate.

Abstract

Community service partners are housewives who live in Tritiro Village, Samboang District, Bulukumba Regency. The majority of people's income comes from fishing and the amount is uncertain every month. The location of this service is around a cliff that borders the coast. Yards of residents' houses are generally not used optimally, only left empty and overgrown with wild plants, or some ornamental plants. The solution provided is training in planting family medicinal plants that can be used for consumption of family herbal medicines. If production can exceed needs, produce or plants can be sold to supplement family income. The method is carried out by providing (1) Introduction to family medicinal plants, (2) Counseling on optimizing the use of the home yard in growing family medicinal plants, (3) Introduction to fertile and infertile soil (planting medium), (4) TOGA planting training (family medicinal plants). Keywords: Medicinal plants, Optimizing the home yard.

Abstract

Scientific process skills are an essential abilities in education and daily life, including observation, experimentation, analysis and drawing conclusions to understand natural phenomena. This abilities is relevant not only in the academic field but also has a positive impact in various aspects of life. Scientific process skills develop critical and analytical thinking, helping students understand how to think scientifically, solve problems, and make decisions based on evidence. Additionally, these skills enhance curiosity and a passion for research, making students lifelong learners. In the era of technology and innovation, scientific process skills are an important basis for developing expertise in various industries. Integrating these skills in education forms academically competent individuals and prepares them to face global challenges and contribute to the development of society through critical scientific thinking and solutions. This training was carried out at MTS Arifah Gowa. The results of implementing this training show a significant impact on improving the quality of learning. Skills such as observation, experimentation, analysis, and drawing conclusions provide a strong foundation for understanding scientific concepts. The results of the training showed that all participating teachers were very enthusiastic, based on the results of the questionnaire/instrument filled out after the training. Teachers stated that this training was very useful and relevant for improving the quality of science learning in schools. Teachers feel more prepared and confident in integrating science process skills into their curriculum, which is expected to improve overall student learning outcomes..

Abstract

Pengolahan limbah air kelapa melalui bioteknologi sederhana merupakan salah satu upaya strategis dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dan kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Pesantren Putri Yatama Mandiri dengan tujuan membekali santriwati keterampilan praktis dalam mengolah limbah air kelapa menjadi Nata de Coco. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyampaian materi, praktik langsung pembuatan Nata de Coco, serta evaluasi respons peserta. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui tiga indikator, yaitu pemanfaatan limbah, pemahaman prosedur, dan pembelajaran bioteknologi. Selain itu, kualitas produk dinilai melalui uji organoleptik dengan enam parameter utama, yakni warna, aroma, tekstur, kekenyalan, rasa, dan daya terima. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa santriwati mampu memahami proses fermentasi dan menyadari potensi ekonomis dari limbah air kelapa. Uji organoleptik mengindikasikan produk dapat diterima dengan baik, dengan skor tinggi pada daya terima, tekstur, kekenyalan, dan warna, meskipun aroma dan rasa relatif lebih rendah. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam mengintegrasikan ilmu bioteknologi dengan praktik kewirausahaan, serta berpotensi mendukung pemberdayaan santriwati melalui pemanfaatan limbah berbasis bioteknologi.

Abstract

Luka terbuka rentan terinfeksi oleh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penggunan antibiotik secara berlebihan untuk mengobati infeksi dapat menyebabkan resistensi dan menimbulkan efek samping sehingga diperlukan alternatif obat herbal seperti daun pulutan (Urena lobata) yang kaya flavonoid, tanin, dan terpenoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji kandungan fitokimia daun pulutan (Urena lobata) dan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang dibagi menjadi kontrol negatife DMSO 10% (K-), kontrol positif kloramfenikol (K+), serta ekstrak daun pulutan (EDP) 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Uji antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram, sedangkan ekstrak diperoleh melalui maserasi etanol 70%. Hasil penelitian skrining fitokimia menunjukkan adanya flavonoid, tanin, dan terpenoid pada ekstrak daun pulutan. Zona hambat antibakteri diperoleh pada EDP 5% ( 3,11 + 0,02 mm; kategori lemah), EDP 10% (7,57 + 0,72) dan EDP 15% (8,46 + 0,50 mm) termasuk kategori sedang. Maka dapat di simpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun Urena lobata berpotensi sebagai sumber senyawa aktif seperti flavonoid, tanin, saponin, dan terpenoid untuk menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri.
