Abstract

Abstract

With the integration of IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology), the data generated by the OT system can be easily processed and analyzed using the IT system, thereby synergistically increasing the efficiency and productivity of the company. In addition, to maximize machine performance, the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method can be applied to monitor production results. Therefore, the authors designed an integration system based on a software connector to connect the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Odoo. This system facilitates three communication protocols, namely Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet. As proof of the success of the connector software, a bottle-sorting plant controlled by PLC was made. The data from the plant is acquired by the connector software and sent in real-time to ERP Odoo. In ERP Odoo, an analysis is carried out through manufacturing modules that are custom-made by applying the OEE method as a step in monitoring the production process. Through research conducted, this integration system has been successfully designed and implemented in a bottle-sorting plant. The results of a comparison between manual OEE calculations and OEE calculations in ERP Odoo found an error of 0.161%. Thus, the IT and OT integration system created has been successful and has made the production process more efficient and has provided significant benefits to the company

Abstract

Abstract

Traditional fishing techniques frequently lack efficiency and optimization, resulting in fishermen obtaining unsatisfactory yields. This study presents a novel approach by incorporating Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, notably utilizing Leaflet, to improve fishing techniques. The suggested system incorporates a LoRa node tool that logs the journeys of fishermen, offering comprehensive itineraries and data on the distribution of fish and unfavorable weather conditions. Notable outcomes were attained by employing the haversine approach to compute distances between the LoRa Gateway and different data points. The approach exhibited a negligible error margin of 0.157% in contrast to the calculations performed in Excel. In addition, the GPS accuracy testing produced remarkable results, with latitude and longitude errors of 0.000116% and 0.000002%, respectively. The LoRa system demonstrated a range of RSSI performance, with values ranging from -57 dBM at 50 meters to -121 dBM at 1500 meters. This range of performance guarantees dependable transmission of data over significant distances. The findings underscore the GIS-based strategy's efficacy in enhancing the effectiveness and precision of conventional fishing methods, presenting a promising technical improvement for the fishing sector.

Abstract

The integration of perational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) is crucial for enterprise-level decision-making regarding company effectiveness and productivity. This integration is achieved by developing an integrator system in the form of an API service, which facilitates the connection between Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Odoo Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Integration allows IT systems synergize with OT systems to processing data obtained from the performance of industrial machines. Analysis was conducted using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method to monitor the company’s production outcomes. A prototype sorting system with PLC for controlling was created as an OEE implementation. The API service acquires data from the plant and performs preliminary analysis in Odoo ERP. The analysis in Odoo ERP is conducted through the development of a manufacturing module that applies the OEE method calculations to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of production procces. Once the calculation result is obtained, these data are monitored on Grafana in the form of pie charts and graphs. This research yielded insight into the design and implementation of an integration system for the bottle sorting process. The result also could be monitored in real-time using Odoo ERP and Grafana. Furthermore, the OEE analysis was matched with manual calculations in order to ensure its validity. Thus, this research enables the production process to be optimized and provides significant benefits to the company.
