Abstract

Artikel ini membahas mengenai ditemukannya periwayatan hadis dari kelompok Syi’ah yaitu Muh}ammad ibn Fud}ail, dimuat dalam literatur hadis yang otoritatif Sunni yaitu kitab S{ah}i>h} Muslim. Sebab perilaku bid’ah seperti Tasyayyu’, Syi’ah atau Ra>fid}ah adalah salah satu sebab yang dapat merusak ‘ada>lah (kredibilitas) seorang perawi hadis. Seorang pelaku bid’ah atau biasa dikenal dengan istilah mubtadi’ dikatakan berkeyakinan atau melakukan suatu perilaku yang berkategori menyimpang dan menyelishi ajaran Islam yang murni dari al-Qur’an dan hadis Nabi, meskipun perawi tersebut adalah rija>l al-sanad Ima>m Muslim dalam kitab S{ah}i>h} beliau. Berdasarkan hal tersebut perlu dilakukan tinjauan terhadap periwayatan Muh}ammad ibn Fud}ail dan sikap Ima>m Muslim mengenai alasannya mencantumkan perawi Syi’ah di dalam kitabnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian (library research). Teknik pengumpulan data yang relevan dengan penelitian ini adalah studi dokumentasi, mengarah kepada berbagai macam literatur yang berhubungan dengan pemikiran atau konsep tokoh yang dikaji. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan rija>l al-h}adi>ts. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui biografi, kredibilitas, dan sikap Ima>m Muslim terhadap periwayatan Muh}ammad ibn Fud}ail. Hasil dari penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa periwayatan hadis dari jalur Muh}ammad ibn Fud}ail tidak menganggu kredibilitas dari kitab S{ah}i>h Muslim, dan Muh}ammad ibn Fud}ail tidak menularkan pemahaman Syi’ah di dalam hadis yang ia riwayatkan.

Abstract

Hadith criticism (Naqd al-Hadis) in the view of Hadith scholars has the highest urgency to determine the quality and originality of the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In Naqd al-Hadis itself, sanad criticism dominates over matan. As time progressed, the study of Hadith also developed which then gave birth to new methods in an effort to determine the originality of Hadith in accordance with the scientific tendencies pursued. One of these new methods is Kashf. Kashf as a method used in determining the originality of Hadith is proposed and approved by the majority of Sufi scholars. Whereas in the view of almost the majority of Hadith scholars, the Kashf method is considered to violate the scientific rules that they have created in an effort to preserve Hadith. al-Suyuti, as part of Hadith scholars, has a different view from the majority of other Hadith scholars. According to him, the Kashf method as an assessment of Hadith originality can be used as a second alternative. This is because al-Suyuti experienced Kashf himself, he often met with the Prophet Muhammad to ask about the authenticity of a Hadith. This research uses a literature review by analyzing documents that explain al-Suyuti's views on Kashf. Data processing is done by descriptive analysis method to find out Kashf in al-Suyuti's view. The results of this study show that al-Suyuti accepted the Kashf method as a second alternative in assessing the originality of Hadith. Al-Suyuti's acceptance requires that the Hadiths judged original through the Kashf method are in accordance with and do not violate the Hadiths that have been agreed upon by Hadith scholars. Abstract

Islamic studies (dirosah islamiyyah) should be carried out and developed dynamically like scientific studies in general. But unfortunately on the contrary, Islamic studies seem to have stagnated or not experienced significant progress amidst various social issues that continue to develop. Even when there are Islamic studies conducted by Muslim insiders, they often appear dull and poor in approach and methodology. Islamic studies should be open to the methods and approaches currently being developed. Ibrahim M. Abu Rabi tries to open up this void through his study of the history of Islamic thought and awakens intellectuals so that they fully understand the role and importance of advancing Islamic studies. The scientific opinion is currently being developed. Problems that are increasingly complicated and complex cannot be explained satisfactorily by classical Islamic research theories that rely solely on textual research. According to him, Islamic studies must be open to contemporary scientific disciplines.

Abstract

Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy adalah sosok pembaharu pemikiran Islam di Indonesia, pengaruhnya dalam kajian hadis di Indonesia tidak dapat dihilangkan begitu saja. Hasbi menjadi tokoh menarik dalam kajian ini lantaran sedikit banyak dari pemikirannya ditemukan kemiripan dengan gurunya, Ahmad Surkati. Jadi, fokus kajian ini adalah bagaimana ideologi pemikiran hadis Hasbi?. Kemudian, apakah pemikiran hadis Hasbi di pengaruhi oleh gurunya?. Dalam tulisan ini akan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan model kajian kepustakaan serta mencoba menganalisis dengan analisis yang dicetuskan oleh Norman Fairclough yaitu CDA (Critical Discourse Analyis). Maka dari itu kajian ini menghasilkan temuan bahwa ideologi pemikiran Hasbi memiliki kemiripan dengan gurunya seperti Ahmad Surkati dan Al-Kalili, namun juga mencakup elemen orisinal yang menitikberatkan pada al-Qur'an dan sunah. Analisis Norman Fairclough menunjukkan bahwa bahasa dalam karya Hasbi bersifat moderat. Ia menggunakan posisinya sebagai dosen untuk menyebarkan ideologinya yang juga termasuk dari bentuk kekuasaan dari Hasbi sendiri.

Abstract

This research examines Ahmad Hassan's thoughts regarding Ahmad Hasan's thoughts on the Talkin hadith in the book Tarjamah Bulugh al-Maram. This research uses a qualitative approach. In data mining, library research is used by searching various written sources to obtain other supporting data. Data analysis in this research uses the content analysis method by discussing in depth the information content of the collected data in accordance with the research objectives and problems. The theory used is Syuhudi Ismail's contextualization theory. The results of this research are that Ahmad Hassan interprets what is meant by talkin as teaching, meaning teaching the deceased to answer the questions given by the Angels Munkar and Nakir in the grave regarding I'tikad. which must be believed while living in the world. For Ahmad Hassan, talkin is invalid and not justified because there is no explanation in the Quran and hadith.

Abstract

Zikr is a form of worship that is light but has great rewards that is said through the heart and verbally, dhikr is also a worship that essentially means a person is connecting with Allah. Therefore, this research explains the hadith of raising one's voice in the principles of Al-Wasilah al-Mutaghayyirah wa al-Hadf al-Thabit, views of Yusuf al-Qardhawi. The research used by the author is qualitative research using the library research method. The results of the author's research show that the behavior of raising one's voice when doing dhikr is permissible, as long as it does not disturb other congregation members in the surrounding area. Returning to the rule that Yusuf al-Qardhawi uses, the means can change according to situations and conditions, but do not change the original goals set at the beginning. Dhikr can be done using any means, including by raising your voice, lowering your voice, lying down, sitting, sleeping, walking, standing and so on with the intention of not just showing off for Allah's sake in front of other people. In this case, as a Muslim, it would be better not to arbitrarily blame other people, even if they have different beliefs.

Abstract

This article discusses the political and religious influences on the development of hadith studies in Yemen during the 7th-10th centuries CE. Yemen, as one of the centers of Islamic scholarship, played an important role in the transmission and teaching of hadith. This study explores how political conditions such as changes in power and the influence of schools of thought influenced the methodology of hadith studies in Yemen. The different approaches between the Sunni and Zaydi schools are also examined as factors that enrich, as well as challenge, efforts to standardize hadith methodology in the region. Using a historical and social approach, the study highlights the dynamic relationship between political power and the development of hadith scholarship as well as how educational institutions played a role in propagating different understandings. The results show that the development of hadith in Yemen was not only influenced by theological aspects but also by complex social and political dynamics.

Abstract

This study examines the sharh methodology employed by Ibn al-‘Attar in his work Al-Uddah fi Sharh Umdah fi al-Ahadith al-Ahkam. Using a qualitative method and a library research approach, this research focuses on the socio-historical analysis of Ibn al-‘Attar's intellectual background and the influence of the Shafi’i school on his works. The findings indicate that Ibn al-‘Attar applied the tahlili (analytical) method in his sharh, aimed at facilitating readers, particularly beginners, in understanding legal hadiths. Social factors, especially the Shafi’i culture in Damascus, along with the significant influence of his teacher, Imam Nawawi, greatly shaped Ibn al-‘Attar's approach. The book demonstrates a clear system, providing detailed explanations based on the companions' narrations and their associated rulings. This study contributes significantly to understanding the role of sharh in the development of hadith studies and the influence of the Shafi’i school on hadith interpretation within Islamic scholarly traditions.Abstrak: Kajian ini membahas metodologi syarah yang digunakan oleh Ibn al-‘Attar dalam karyanya Al-Uddah fi Sharh Umdah fi al-Ahadith al-Ahkam. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan kepustakaan, penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis sosio-historis yang melatarbelakangi pemikiran Ibn al-‘Attar serta pengaruh mazhab Syafi’i terhadap karya-karyanya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Ibn al-‘Attar menerapkan metode tahlili (analisis) dalam syarahnya, yang ditujukan untuk memudahkan pembaca, terutama pelajar pemula, dalam memahami hadis-hadis hukum. Faktor sosial, terutama budaya Syafi’i di Damaskus, serta pengaruh besar dari gurunya, Imam Nawawi, sangat memengaruhi pendekatan Ibn al-‘Attar. Kitab ini juga menunjukkan sistematika yang jelas, dengan penjelasan yang rinci dan berbasis pada riwayat sahabat serta hukum-hukumnya. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memahami peran syarah dalam perkembangan ilmu hadis dan pengaruh mazhab Syafi’i terhadap interpretasi hadis dalam tradisi keilmuan Islam.

Abstract

‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī who was considered a prolific scholar  and had made a major contribution to the development of Islamic scholarship, it turns out that his ways of explaining hadith has a unique way that have been overlooked by previous researchers. In fact, he was not only recognized as an expert scholar in Sufism studies, but also had sufficient credibility to be recognized in hadith narrations. Therefore, this article reveals the characteristics of sharah hadith carried out by ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī in terms of his two books, Hidāyah al-Sālikīn and Siyar al-Sālikīn. The method used in this study is a literature research method with a qualitative approach in the form of exposing examples of hadiths and their editorial sharah in the two related books. The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis by observing the pattern in the syarah hadith model used by ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī and comparing it with related theories so as to produce a new theory of the characteristics of patterns obtained. The results shows that the syarah hadith of ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī has unique characteristics, namely a language approach patterned by exposing hadiths with hadiths and has a tendency to always combine the abstract concept of Sufism with other things which are practical through definitions and divisions with the ijmali method. This can be seen from the hadiths which are interpreted differently from the Sufism approach, both in Hidāyah al-Sālikīn and Siyar al-Sālikīn. As a suggestion, this findings need to be developed in the future and can become one of the models of sharah hadith that practitioners or the general public can use in explaining the meaning of hadith ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī yang dinilai sebagai ulama yang produktif dan memiliki kontribusi besar terhadap perkembangan keilmuan Islam ternyata caranya dalam menjelaskan hadis yang memiliki ciri khas terlewat dari para peneliti sebelumnya. Padahal, dia tidak hanya diakui sebagai ulama yang ahli dalam bidang tasawuf, namun juga memiliki kredibilitas yang cukup diakui dalam periwayatan hadis. Oleh karena itu, artikel ini mengungkap karakteristik syarah hadis yang dilakukan oleh ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī yang ditinjau dari dua kitabnya, Hidāyah al-Sālikīn dan Siyar al-Sālikīn. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pustaka dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang berupa pemaparan contoh-contoh hadis beserta redaksi syarahnya dalam kedua kitab terkait. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dengan mengamati pola dalam model syarah hadis yang digunakan oleh ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī serta membandingkannya dengan teori-teori terkait sehingga dapat menghasilkan teori baru dari karakteristik pola yang didapatkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa syarah hadis ‘Abd al-Şamad al-Fālimbānī memiliki karakteristik yang unik, yaitu pendekatan bahasa berpola pensyarahan hadis dengan hadis dan cenderung selalu mencoba memadukan konsep tasawuf yang abstrak dengan hal-hal yang bersifat praktis melalui definisi dan pembagian-pembagian dengan penggunaan metode ijmālī. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari hadis-hadis yang dimaknainya secara berbeda dengan pendekatan tasawuf baik itu dalam kitab Hidāyah al-Sālikīn maupun Siyar al-Sālikīn. Sebagai saran, temuan ini perlu dikembangkan di kemudian hari serta dapat menjadi salah satu model syarah hadis yang dapat digunakan oleh para praktisi atau masyarakat luas dalam menjelaskan makna hadis

Abstract

This research discusses the hadith of al-thaqalayn, considered as the legacy of Prophet Muhammad, encompassing the Quran and Ahlul Bait. Both components have been a focal point for both Sunni and Shia communities. This dispute extends beyond religious branches, delving into fundamental principles of faith. The most conspicuous contrast lies in the concept of imamah, the belief that ‘Ali ibn Abī Ṭālib has the right to succeed the Prophet as the religious and political leader, leading to profound interpretative disparities. In comprehending the Prophet’s hadith, a socio-historical approach proves pivotal, exemplified in the work of Imam al-Kulaynī, the Kitab al-Kāfī, which lays the interpretative groundwork for the Shia community. Within this text, the hadith of al-thaqalayn reinforces the Quran and Ahlul Bait as the primary sources of Islamic law, fulfilling societal needs and deepening Imam al-Kulaynī’s legitimacy. The research methodology adopts a qualitative method, relying on content analysis of al-Kāfī by al-Kulaynī and relevant literature. This analysis highlights al-Kulaynī’s substantial influence in interpreting the hadith, addressing the social and political concerns of the Shia community. Political factors, spanning from the Buwayhiyah to the Safawiyah dynasties, have propelled the development and validation of al-Kāfī. Al-Kulaynī’s significant influence in interpreting the hadith assists in fulfilling the spiritual needs of the community, gaining substantial authority in their eyes. Through the socio-historical approach, this research uncovers the significance of al-Kulaynī’s interpretations, affirming his position as the primary reference among the Shia and his role in shaping their religious and political perspectives. Penelitian ini mengulas hadis al-thaqalayn, yang dianggap sebagai pusaka warisan Nabi Muhammad saw., mencakup al-Quran dan Ahlul Bait. Kedua komponen ini telah menjadi fokus perhatian utama bagi Sunni maupun Syi‘ah. Perselisihan ini tak terbatas pada cabang agama, melainkan mendasar pada prinsip dasar agama. Perbedaan paling mencolok adalah konsep imamah, keyakinan bahwa ‘Ali ibn Abī Ṭālib memiliki hak untuk mengambil alih peran sebagai pemimpin agama dan negara setelah Nabi, menimbulkan kesenjangan interpretatif yang mendalam. Dalam upaya memahami hadis Nabi, pendekatan sosio-historis menjadi penting. Hal ini tercermin dalam karya Imam al-Kulaynī, Kitab al-Kāfī, yang memberikan landasan interpretatif bagi Syi‘ah. Dalam kitab ini, hadis al-Thaqalayn menegaskan al-Quran dan Ahlul Bait sebagai sumber hukum utama Islam, memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat dan memperdalam legitimasi Imam al-Kulaynī. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif, mengandalkan content analysis pada kitab al-Kāfī karya al-Kulaynī serta literatur terkait. Analisis ini menyoroti pengaruh besar al-Kulaynī dalam interpretasi hadis, menjawab kekhawatiran sosial dan politik masyarakat Syi‘ah. Faktor politik, dari dinasti Buwayhiyah hingga Safawiyah, turut mendorong perkembangan dan legitimasi kitab al-Kāfī. Pengaruh besar al-Kulaynī dalam interpretasi hadis membantu memenuhi kebutuhan spiritual masyarakat, memperoleh otoritas yang besar dalam pandangan mereka. Melalui pendekatan sosio-historis, penelitian ini mengungkap signifikansi interpretasi al-Kulaynī terhadap hadis, menegaskan posisinya sebagai pegangan utama dalam kalangan Syi‘ah serta perannya dalam menentukan pandangan agama dan politik mereka.
