Abstract

This study investigates the application of environmental ethics in the community-based waste management system implemented at the Al-Huda Central Waste Bank in Rancah District, Ciamis Regency. The research aims to identify how ethical principles shape the attitudes, behaviors, and participation patterns of community members involved in waste management activities. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving waste bank managers, volunteers, and local residents. The findings show that fundamental ethical values including responsibility, care, honesty, moderation, and sustainability are consistently integrated into the daily operations of the waste bank and inform the decision-making processes of its participants. These values are reflected in educational programs, waste-saving schemes, sorting practices, and recycling initiatives that encourage environmentally conscious habits and strengthen collective awareness. The study also reveals that the waste bank not only provides economic benefits for the community but also fosters social cohesion, mutual cooperation, and a shared sense of stewardship toward the local environment. Overall, the research demonstrates that environmental ethics function as both moral guidance and practical frameworks that enhance the effectiveness, relevance, and long-term viability of community-based waste management systems, offering valuable insights for the development of sustainable environmental governance at the grassroots level.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan modern menuntut adanya kerangka teori keilmuan yang kokoh, rasional, dan berbasis empiris, terutama di tengah dinamika ilmu kontemporer yang semakin dipengaruhi oleh teknologi dan data. Dalam konteks ini, pemikiran Francis Bacon dan John Stuart Mill memiliki relevansi penting sebagai fondasi epistemologis metode ilmiah modern. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan membandingkan secara sistematis kerangka dasar teori keilmuan menurut Francis Bacon dan John Stuart Mill, serta menelaah kontribusi dan kesinambungan pemikiran keduanya dalam pembentukan metodologi ilmiah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research), melalui analisis teks primer berupa Novum Organum karya Francis Bacon dan A System of Logic karya John Stuart Mill, serta literatur akademik sekunder yang relevan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi (content analysis) untuk mengidentifikasi konsep empirisme, induksi, dan logika ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bacon meletakkan dasar metode ilmiah berbasis observasi dan eksperimen, sementara Mill menyempurnakannya melalui sistematisasi logika induktif dan analisis kausal, sehingga keduanya membentuk kerangka teori keilmuan yang empiris, rasional, dan sistematis. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis terhadap kajian filsafat ilmu dengan menegaskan relevansi empirisme klasik dalam konteks keilmuan modern. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya integrasi pendekatan empiris dan logis dalam pengembangan metodologi ilmiah, serta membuka peluang bagi penelitian lanjutan yang mengkaji penerapan pemikiran Bacon dan Mill dalam praktik riset kontemporer.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Point of Sale (PoS) module system using Odoo for the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) Toko Tiga Saudara, which currently relies on a manual recording system. Manual data recording often leads to various issues such as data loss, calculation errors, delays in report generation, and difficulties in accurately monitoring inventory. Therefore, an integrated and efficient system solution is required. The research method used is qualitative with an action research approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations of the store owner and daily operational activities. The implementation process included installing Odoo, configuring the PoS module based on the store’s requirements, conducting user training, performing system testing using the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) method, and evaluating system effectiveness. The results show that the system is capable of integrating transaction processes and inventory management in real time, minimizing recording errors, and generating accurate and easy-to-understand sales reports. Furthermore, the system increases operational efficiency and supports the store owner in making strategic decisions. The implemented system is deemed to meet the user’s needs; however, further development is recommended to add additional features that can support business growth in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in strengthening the character of elementary school students in Serang City through the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5). The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation across several public elementary schools in Serang. The results indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum provides flexibility for teachers to integrate character values—such as independence, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and Banten’s local wisdom—into the learning process. The primary challenges faced include the adaptation of teaching modules and inconsistent character assessment methods. Overall, however, the Merdeka Curriculum is effective in enhancing students' ethical awareness and social behavior within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of digital waste management through the WAMS (Waste Management System) application in fostering environmental care character among elementary school students in Serang City. The increasing waste problem demands technology-based management innovations capable of building environmental awareness from an early age. The WAMS application is utilized as a digital waste management medium that facilitates students in sorting, recording, and monitoring waste management activities effectively and educationally. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The subjects of the study were elementary school students in Serang City who participated in the use of the WAMS application in school waste management activities. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis to determine the level of influence of the application on the development of students’ environmental care character. The results showed that digital waste management through the WAMS application had a positive and significant effect on the environmental care character of elementary school students. Students demonstrated increased awareness in maintaining environmental cleanliness, proper waste sorting habits, and responsibility toward the school environment. Therefore, the WAMS application can serve as an innovative alternative in supporting environmental character education in elementary schools.
