Abstract

Oral health is an essential component of overall health, particularly for pregnant women and prospective brides. Nevertheless, knowledge and awareness regarding oral health remain low, contributing to the high prevalence of dental caries, gingivitis, and periodontitis. These conditions have serious implications, especially during the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK), which are closely associated with the risk of stunting. This program aimed to enhance knowledge, awareness, and preventive behaviors related to oral health among pregnant women and prospective brides as part of early stunting prevention efforts. The intervention was conducted in July 2023 at the Toddopuli Primary Health Center, Makassar City, involving 20 prospective brides, 30 pregnant women, and 10 health cadres. Activities included cross-sectoral coordination, technical training for health cadres, household visits for data collection and intervention sticker placement, oral health education through face-to-face counseling and digital media, and dental treatment at the health center. Knowledge was assessed using pre-test and post-test instruments administered via Google Form. The findings revealed a significant improvement: the proportion of participants with good knowledge increased from 49,2% before the intervention to 98,2% afterward. In addition, the number of participants receiving dental care rose from 4 in 2022 to 39 in 2023. Overall, the program successfully enhanced awareness and preventive practices and contributed to stunting prevention by improving maternal and preconception oral health.

Abstract

This research analyzes the difficulties experienced by teachers at the Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School, Jakarta, in carrying out Classroom Action Research (PTK). The quality of teacher professionalism is key to ensuring students receive the best education, and PTK is an important tool to improve the learning process. However, implementing PTK in the field is often not easy, and many teachers face various challenges, including in the Islamic boarding school environment. This research aims to identify teachers' understanding of PTK, the difficulties they face, and solutions to overcome them. A qualitative approach with case study methods is used to understand this phenomenon in depth. Primary data was collected through interviews with teachers at the Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School, while secondary data was obtained from relevant school records, books and journals. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that teachers have a basic understanding of PTK as a practical tool for improving learning, but their knowledge of formal methodology is still minimal. The main difficulties found were limited time, minimal understanding of research methodology, lack of writing culture, and lack of systemic support from the school. The proposed solution is to organize practice-based training, build a research and writing culture, and provide systematic support through school policies, incentives, and collaboration with external parties.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective student worksheet (LKS) for linear programming material based on the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) model with peer feedback. Using a Research and Development (R&D) design comprising definition, design, development, and dissemination stages, data were collected through validation sheets, questionnaires, and tests. The developed worksheet was assessed as valid by experts 80%, practical based on student and teacher responses 85%, and effective in improving learning outcomes. Effectiveness was indicated by 79% classical completeness and a significant improvement in Post test scores compared to Pre test results (p < 0.05 ). The findings show that the MMP-based worksheet with peer feedback meets the criteria for valid, practical, and effective learning tools.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the representation of Minangkabau cultural values in the Saiyo Sakato series. The focus of this research includes the representation of deliberation and consensus, the matrilineal kinship system, the tradition of migration, the symbolism of traditional foods, and the use of the Minangkabau language in the context of modern life, particularly in relation to family economic issues. This study applies Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach through the analysis of denotation, connotation, and myth. The method used is descriptive qualitative by examining relevant scenes and dialogues in the series. The results show that myths construct Minangkabau culture as a value system that remains relevant in modern life, especially in regulating family economic responsibilities, the division of roles between men and women, and conflict resolution through deliberation. The series represents Minangkabau customs as a guide to life that adapts to the social and economic dynamics of contemporary society.

Abstract

(1) Background: Foreign language skills are necessary for students to be mastered as communication skill. However, students' difficulties in mastering Arabic are caused by psycholinguistics. Psychologically, students have difficulty recording this language memory. A method is needed to involve teachers in overcoming students' difficulties. (2)Purpose of the study: The objective of this mentoring is to provide Arabic language literacy for students with a psychologically friendly method, namely the AIR method. (Auditory, Intellectualization, and Repetition); (3) Methods: Participatory Action Research is used in this method by contributing as a temporary participatory teacher at MtsNMalinau with various AIR-based programs provided.; (4) Results: It went to three cycles, the auditory implemented through chain whisper game. The intellectualization cycle applied with interactive clues to arrange sentence. The last cycle is unusual repetition of memorize, by applying vocabularies with numeric spin media tools.; (5) Conclusions: The AIR method is able to create a pleasant environment for practicing Arabic communication, by optimizing students' senses through listening, thinking, and memory without feeling psychologically forced.

Abstract

Understanding student errors in calculus is crucial for improving the quality of mathematics learning. This study analyzes students’ errors in solving partial derivative problems in a calculus course based on the Newman Error Analysis framework. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed. The participants were 20 students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Timor enrolled in a calculus course. Data was collected through written tests and unstructured interviews and then analyzed using error categorization and percentage distribution. The findings reveal that the most frequent errors occur at the comprehension, transformation, and process skills stages. Comprehension errors are indicated by students’ difficulties in interpreting the meaning and structure of mathematical expressions. Transformation errors are characterized by students’ inability to convert problems into appropriate mathematical forms or procedures, particularly in selecting suitable strategies. Process skills errors arise when students make computational mistakes despite correctly understanding the problem. In contrast, errors at the reading and encoding stages are relatively infrequent. These results suggest that students’ main difficulties lie in the intermediate stages of problem-solving, where conceptual understanding and procedural fluency are required simultaneously. Therefore, calculus instruction should emphasize conceptual strengthening and incorporate non-routine, higher-order thinking skills-based problems to enhance students’ problem-solving abilities.
