Abstract

This study aims to determine the marketing communication strategies used by the Instagram account @adekdekorasi_medan to attract customers. It employs a qualitative descriptive research method and applies the marketing mix theory. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results reveal that @adekdekorasi_medan employs various marketing communication strategies on Instagram, such as online promotion, endorsements, enhancing the visual presentation of the account, and offering promotions. These strategies help attract and retain potential customers. Despite the fierce competition in the social media decoration services industry, @adekdekorasi_medan has managed to maintain its presence since 2000

Abstract

Film Perburuan is a film adapted from the novel by Pramoedya Ananta Toer titled Perburuan. The film portrays the background and conditions of Indonesia during the struggle for independence, depicting the PETA (Defenders of the Homeland) forces when they were cornered while facing the Japanese army. Richard, the screenplay writer, added a story element to the film by providing a depiction of events six months prior to the original story, focusing on the character of Hardo. Research results show that Film Perburuan, in various ways understood by researchers using the construction theory and semiotic analysis approach of Roland Barthes, has six scenes that demonstrate the function of actors, with 20 functions depicting the meaning of struggle out of 31 functions of actors. There are eight opposing characters that represent the characters of goodness and evil based on the characters in the film, and within the seven character functions, there are only six characters in Film Perburuan. In Film Perburuan, this is achieved by using the stages of denotation and connotation. The denotation stage represents the literal meaning or what happens in the scene, while the connotation stage represents the meaning used to interpret the hidden meanings present in each scene.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana mahasiswa mempersepsikan isi konten review yang disampaikan oleh akun Tiktok @drrichardlee, kemudian penelitian ini ingin mengetahui pengaruh dan kandungan skincare terhadap persepsi mahasiswa khususnya komunikasi di Universitas Islam Negeri, Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Responden yang digunakan adalah 95 sampel dari seluruh mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi. Data menggunakan kuesioner dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis tabel tunggal. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah isi review content pada persepsi siswa mempunyai pengaruh atau pengaruh terhadap persepsi, melalui poin-poin pertanyaan yang meliputi baik isi konten skincare review yang disampaikan, maupun poin pertanyaan meliputi persepsi mahasiswa tentang ilmu komunikasi dengan koefisien korelasi yang diperoleh dari data yang terkumpul adalah 0,825 dengan signifikansi 0,00, karena signifikansi < 0,05, dapat dinyatakan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Artinya ada pengaruh antara isi review skincare pada akun @drrichardle Tiktok terhadap persepsi mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi FIS UIN Sumatera Utara dapat dinyatakan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Artinya ada pengaruh antara isi review skincare pada akun @drrichardle Tiktok terhadap persepsi mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi FIS UIN Sumatera Utara dapat dinyatakan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana Efektivitas Komunikasi Interpersonal dalam Pembelajaran yang berlaku selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung melalui aplikasi WhatsApp di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Karena adanya perbedaan dari cara mengajar yang biasanya dilakukan secara langsung kini dilakukan melalui dalam jaringan yang salah satunya adalah aplikasi WhatsApp. Dengan metode penelitian deskriptif Kualitatif peneliti mendapatkan sumber informasi melalui para mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Stambuk 2017, dengan menggunakan teori keterlibatan interaksi yang digagas oleh Erving Goffman. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi WhatsApp dapat berjalan dengan optimal sebagai pengganti komunikasi yang biasanya dilakukan secara tatap muka, namun untuk komunikasi pembelajaran Daring (Dalam Jaringan) melalui WhatsApp dianggap kurang efektif karena terdapat hambatan pada komunikasi pembelajaran melalui aplikasi WhatsApp yang dapat mengurangi efektivitas dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Kata Kunci : Komunikasi Interpersonal, Pembelajaran Dalam Jaringan, WhatsApp   ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the extent to which the effectiveness of interpersonal communication in learning applies during the learning process via the WhatsApp application at the Faculty of Social Sciences, North Sumatra State Islamic University. Because there is a difference from the way teaching is usually done in person, it is now done via a network, one of which is the WhatsApp application. Using the qualitative descriptive research method, researchers obtained sources of information through students at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Stambuk 2017, using the theory of interaction involvement initiated by Erving Goffman. The results of this research show that interpersonal communication carried out using the WhatsApp application can run optimally as a substitute for communication which is usually carried out face-to-face, however for online learning communication via WhatsApp it is considered less effective because there are obstacles to learning communication through the application WhatsApp which can reduce effectiveness in learning activities. Abstract

This study aims to explore the benefits and advantages obtained by stalls by using the Goseh application. The research method used is qualitative, which prioritizes understanding of phenomena that occur through observation and data collection using various methods. This research involved several stalls in Karo District that have used the Goseh application as a means of marketing and selling food and beverages. The results of the study show that the Goseh application provides many benefits to stalls, such as increasing popularity and income. In addition, people also don't need to leave the house to buy food, because they can order through the Goseh application and wait for the order to be delivered to their house. Goseh users are not only limited to people in Karo Regency, but also from outside the city, province, and even abroad who want to pay attention to their loved ones at home by sending their favorite food or drink online. The Goseh application also helps stalls in promoting the stall through the application itself. In addition, Goseh application users can also view the shop's promotional posts via Goseh's official Instagram account and the shop. In this case, promotion can be more effective because it can reach more people, especially social media users. In conclusion, the Goseh application is an effective alternative for stalls in increasing their popularity and income, as well as making it easier for people to order food and drinks from stalls. Apart from that, this application also provides other benefits, such as making it easier to deliver food and drinks to loved ones in their hometown.

Abstract

Film is the result of a process of cultural depiction and a tool of artistic expression. Film as one of the reforms or can be interpreted as a mass communication tool consists of a combination of various technologies formed into one. The movie that has come to the author's attention for this analytical research is a movie entitled I thought you were home. A family drama movie that raises the mental issues of a teenager with bipolar disease. Where in each scene has a moral message and one of them is when there is an interaction between the Librarian and the main character while in the library. The formulation of the problem that was the focus of the research was the meaning of the interaction between librarians and library users when conducting circulation services in the movie I thought you were home by Umay Shahab. The focus of the research is located in the scene duration 18.33 - 20.47. This study aimed to describe the interactions that occur between librarians in providing circulation services to visitors, here the researcher's assessment is related to the attitude of empathy, reliability, and attention of librarians. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative with the semiotic analysis technique of roland barthes. The results obtained in this study, librarians are very professional in conducting interactions, and the value that becomes the benchmark of researchers meets the 3 criteria of a library user in accordance with the formulation of the problem in this study.

Abstract

Students really need the ability to control themselves in minimizing the occurrence of procrastination due to the use of gadgets. To avoid things that interfere with individual productivity, students must have high self-control. The higher the self-control, the lower the procrastination that occurs. The function of this research is to find out about how self-control students should exercise to minimize procrastination behavior due to uncontrolled use of gadgets. This procrastination can result in certain situations and emotions that are not desired, such as anger, guilt, worry, and so on, and can hamper a person's productivity, and often results in stress and pressure due to unfinished work. In combination these impacts can disrupt a person's happiness, well-being and success in various aspects of life. This is why self-control is very important and students really need self-control. This self-control refers to an individual's ability to regulate their own thoughts, feelings and actions. In this case, data analysis is used in a qualitative descriptive method using a phenomenological approach. with documentation, interviews and observation techniques. This research uses an analysis of self-regulation theory, which is one of the main components of human personality. Self-regulation refers to an individual's capacity to manage their own behavior and involves processes of observation, self-evaluation and response. The object of this research is solving cases regarding self-control in the use of procrastination behavior gadgets by UIN North Sumatra students. The instruments/tools used in qualitative research are interview guides, observation lists, and documentation instructions. Some findings from existing research are that there is a substantial connection between excessive gadget use and self-control to prevent students from delaying assignments, while other findings procrastination and self-regulation are significantly negatively correlated. This shows that some students need higher self-control so that there is low procrastination.

Abstract

Poverty remains a big problem in Indonesia, including in the city of Medan. According to BPS data, the percentage of poor people in Indonesia decreased from 9.57% in September 2022 to 9.36% in March 2023. This decline was also seen in North Sumatra, from 8.33% to 8.15% in the same period. LAZISMU, as a zakat institution, uses various marketing communication strategies to increase public awareness and participation in poverty alleviation programs in Medan City. The approaches used include social media, collaboration with local media, and community events such as bazaars and workshops. Philip Kotler's marketing theory is the basis for this research methodology. The research results show that the communication strategy implemented was successful in increasing public awareness and participation, although there were still obstacles related to limited funds. LAZISMU is expected to be able to develop more effective fundraising strategies and collaborate with various parties to increase the flow of funds and program sustainability.

Abstract

Stunting remains a critical public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas like Nias Barat, where limited access to resources and information exacerbates the problem. This study examines the systemic biases in media literacy and their impact on stunting prevention efforts in this underserved region. Using a Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach, the research integrates traditional communication channels such as local leaders and community meetings with media literacy initiatives to address cultural and infrastructural barriers. The mixed-methods methodology combines qualitative focus groups and interviews with quantitative surveys to assess changes in community awareness, health practices, and stunting prevalence. The findings highlight the need for culturally relevant and accessible health communication strategies, demonstrating that integrating media literacy with traditional channels enhances the reach and effectiveness of interventions. This study proposes an inclusive and sustainable framework for addressing stunting, offering valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners aiming to improve public health outcomes in marginalized regions

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of Instagram second account as self-disclosure among UINSU students. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach that is sourced from interviews, observation, and documentation then uses self-disclosure theory or Johari window. Determination of informants using purposive sampling technique is as many as 6 informants. The results of this study indicate that the forms of self-disclosure of UINSU students are a) open, b) dark, c) hidden, and d) unknown. The reason for self disclosure on second account instagram is to express themselves, share daily life, college assignments and just want to find information that is personal.
