Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of feminist propaganda on the TikTok platform as a representation of the dynamics of Gen Z women's identity and expression in the era of Society 5.0. Through descriptive qualitative methods and content analysis, this study examines feminist narratives that appear in video content and accompanying digital interactions. The results of the study show that TikTok is not only an entertainment space, but also a discursive arena that forms a collective awareness of gender equality issues. However, in practice, most of the narratives circulating have shifted from the essence of inclusive feminism to ideologically biased forms of sensational expression, such as reverse sexism, patriarchal generalizations, and the imposition of moral standards. This phenomenon creates tension between the values of digital freedom of expression and the principle of equality in Islam. This research recommends the need for digital literacy based on spirituality and manners so that the digital space is not only a vehicle for ideological struggle, but also a means of da'wah that builds a just civilization. Thus, feminist propaganda needs to be critically reviewed so that it does not shift into value extremism that is counterproductive to the ideals of gender justice in an Islamic perspective.

Abstract

This study examines the construction and mobilization of identity politics in Indonesia's democratic space and its implications for social cohesion and the quality of democracy. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study found that identity politics in Indonesia is consciously utilized by various political actors through symbols, religious and cultural narratives, and social media. Identity politics has been proven to form affectation-based political loyalty, but it has an impact on the exclusion, polarization, and delegitimization of democratic institutions. Phenomena such as the 2017 Jakarta Regional Elections and the 2019 General Election are concrete examples of how identity is used as an effective electoral strategy, but risks deepening social tensions. Nevertheless, identity politics also has constructive potential if it is managed within the framework of inclusive local culture and supported by Islamic communication principles such as tasamuh (tolerance), shura (deliberation), and ukhuwah (brotherhood). These values are able to form a harmonious space for dialogue and encourage fair political participation. This study recommends the need to strengthen multicultural education, public policies that support social integration, and the mainstreaming of cross-identity communication ethics as the foundation of a sustainable, inclusive, and upholding democracy that upholds Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komparatif sikap memilih antara pemilih pemula dan non-pemula terhadap komunikasi keberpihakan yang dilakukan oleh Community Social Organization (CSO). Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif, melibatkan 200 responden dari dua kelompok usia yang berbeda. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang mengukur persepsi terhadap pesan-pesan keberpihakan CSO serta kecenderungan sikap memilih. Hasil uji Independent Sample t-Test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada dua aspek: pengaruh emosional dari pesan CSO dan tingkat kepercayaan terhadap CSO. Pemilih pemula menunjukkan respons emosional yang lebih tinggi dan kepercayaan yang lebih besar terhadap CSO dibandingkan pemilih non-pemula. Namun, tidak ditemukan perbedaan signifikan pada aspek evaluasi kritis terhadap isi pesan, yang mengindikasikan bahwa kedua kelompok memiliki tingkat penilaian rasional yang serupa terhadap komunikasi keberpihakan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pemilih pemula lebih rentan terhadap strategi komunikasi yang bersifat emosional dan simbolik, sehingga menekankan pentingnya desain komunikasi politik yang etis dan edukatif. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman segmentasi pemilih serta implikasi strategis dalam komunikasi politik yang dilakukan oleh CSO.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah sebagai gerakan dakwah berbasis komunitas menempatkan cabang dan ranting sebagai fondasi vital dalam menyemai nilai-nilai Islam Berkemajuan. Lembaga Pengembangan Cabang, Ranting dan Pembinaan Masjid (LPCRPM) PP Muhammadiyah menetapkan target nasional strategis: 60% kecamatan memiliki cabang aktif dan 40% desa/kelurahan memiliki ranting aktif. Provinsi Sumatera Utara, dengan 450 kecamatan dan keragaman sosial-budaya yang tinggi, menjadi medan uji penting terhadap keberhasilan konsolidasi struktur dakwah akar rumput ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui dokumentasi, wawancara, dan pemanfaatan aplikasi Sicara sebagai instrumen digital evaluasi struktural. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian cabang aktif baru sekitar 40% dan ranting aktif 25%, masih jauh dari target nasional. Tantangan utama mencakup kondisi geografis yang kompleks, stagnasi kaderisasi, lemahnya administrasi, serta rendahnya literasi digital di tingkat cabang dan ranting.  Meski demikian, terdapat praktik baik di sejumlah daerah yang berhasil memadukan dakwah, pengelolaan masjid, dan pemberdayaan ekonomi. Kesimpulannya, penguatan cabang dan ranting memerlukan strategi holistik yang melibatkan pemetaan struktural, digitalisasi, kaderisasi fungsional, dan kolaborasi lintas majelis dan eksternal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the Djarum 76 Dirgahayu Indonesia Edition advertisement reflects Indonesia’s cultural values and national identity. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach to interpret the denotations, connotations, and myths present in the advertisement’s symbols.The analysis reveals six dominant cultural representations in the advertisement: Batik motifs,Papuan dance,Madurese pencak silat,Payung dance,Plate dance,Kacet Papatai dance.These findings indicate that the Djarum 76 Dirgahayu Indonesia Edition advertisement uses diverse traditional cultural elements to reinforce messages of nationalism and pride in Indonesia’s cultural heritage. Overall, the advertisement presents a narrative of Indonesian national identity through symbols of traditional culture that are rich in meaning. This semiotic analysis demonstrates that the visual elements are not merely aesthetic decoration; rather, they serve as communicative tools for conveying cultural values and national pride. Through these findings, this study is expected to enrich the understanding of how cultural meaning and national identity are constructed in the context of commercial promotional media.

Abstract

The study on symbolic violence against women is limited. There is still a significant degree of suspicion and stigma in society around the notion that women are weak and helpless compared to men and that women are continually the victims of patriarchal symbolic violence in terms of language, social economics, and others. This research aims to investigate how and why symbolic violence is performed against women in patriarchal cultures, the kinds of symbolic violence against women, the determinants of symbolic violence in this instance, and the effects of linguistic-symbolic violence on women in Medan Tembung. This qualitative research included seven individuals between the ages of 15 and 35. Observations and interviews were employed to collect data for this investigation. The acquired data was then examined using sociological methodologies to disclose the field phenomena and interview outcomes precisely. Furthermore, this research employs the theory of Pierre Bourdieu to comprehend symbolic violence in society. This study's results demonstrate that symbolic violence persists in society, particularly in meetings and in the form of language. The results of this research support this concept by providing evidence of symbolic violence in the form of language or particular terminology that women are not permitted to use, although males are permitted to do so, and which seem to be prevalent in daily life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika komunikasi antar-etnis di Kecamatan Batang Kuis, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, yang dikenal sebagai wilayah multikultural dengan keberagaman etnis seperti Jawa, Melayu, Batak, Minang, dan lainnya. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif berbasis library research, dengan sumber data berupa literatur ilmiah dan data statistik resmi dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun interaksi sosial antar-etnis berjalan baik secara permukaan, terdapat tantangan dalam bentuk ketimpangan representasi, stereotip, dan dugaan diskriminasi pelayanan administratif. Hambatan ini berpotensi menimbulkan konflik laten jika tidak ditangani secara bijak. Strategi yang direkomendasikan meliputi pembentukan forum komunikasi lintas etnis, penguatan pendidikan multikultural, dan penggunaan media komunitas sebagai alat diseminasi narasi inklusif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa komunikasi antar-etnis harus dikelola secara partisipatif dan adil untuk menjagaharmoni sosial di tengah keberagaman budaya masyarakat Batang Kuis

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The communication strategy of the ERAMAS success team in gaining support in the 2018 simultaneous regional elections in North Sumatra, 2) The campaign communication strategy of the ERAMAS pair in attracting public attention, 3) The obstacles faced by the ERAMAS success team in the 2018 simultaneous regional elections in North Sumatra. This study uses qualitative research with a naturalistic approach, this approach intends to create a systematic and objective description of an event, by collecting, evaluating, verifying, and synthesizing evidence to support facts in order to obtain a conclusion. Data collection in this study was carried out using various observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) The communication strategy of the ERAMAS success team in gaining support in the 2018 simultaneous regional elections in North Sumatra is by: a) direct selling, b) involving all elements of society, and c) maximizing the role of social media. 2) The ERAMAS pair's Campaign Communication Strategy in attracting public attention is by: a) being dialogical and open, b) campaigning culturally and structurally, and c) holding religious and social activities. 3) The obstacles faced by the ERAMAS success team in the 2018 simultaneous regional elections in North Sumatra are: a) remote geographical location, b) the many slanders and bad framing, and c) intervention from the central government. Meanwhile, the solutions taken to overcome these obstacles are: a) forming a solid team, b) continuing to campaign politely and obeying the rules, and c) convincing the public by providing the best vision and mission.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy and acceptance of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf)'s green tourism communication policy in building digital ecotourism awareness in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a constructivist paradigm, this study combines data from policy documents, digital observations through Brand24, and in-depth interviews with policy actors, academics, and ecotourism practitioners. The results show that Kemenparekraf's digital communication strategy through campaigns such as #TravelResponsibly, Green Parekraf, and Green Tourism Training has successfully transformed government communication patterns to be more participatory and interactive. Public acceptance of this policy tends to be positive, where the public is not only a recipient of messages, but also participates in producing content and creatively articulating the meaning of sustainability in the digital space. These findings are examined through the perspectives of Innovation Diffusion Theory and the Sustainable Communication Model, which emphasize the importance of two-way communication in the adoption of sustainability values. This research contributes to strengthening the discourse on digital environmental communication by positioning green tourism as a collaborative social movement that builds eco-conscious digital citizenship in Indonesia.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perilaku komunikasi anak-anak dari keluarga broken home di Desa Sei Rotan, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses komunikasi dalam keluarga broken home akibat konflik rumah tangga  cenderung kurang baik karena mempengaruhi sikologi anak. Berbeda dengan proses komunikasi anak broken home akibat ditinggal mati orang tua yang masih terbilang baik. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku komunikasi anak-anak dari keluarga broken home meliputi suasana psikologis, bahasa, dan citra diri. Dalam konteks ini, persepsi orang lain juga berperan dalam memengaruhi kemampuan individu dalam berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang dinamika komunikasi dalam keluarga broken home, yang dapat menjadi landasan bagi pengembangan intervensi yang sesuai untuk mendukung perkembangan anak-anak dari keluarga tersebut.
