Abstract

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to revolutionize various sectors, its application in education, particularly language learning, is gaining attention. AI tools offer new possibilities for personalized instruction, adaptive feedback, and time-efficient learning experiences, making them increasingly relevant in modern classrooms. However, while global research on AI-assisted language learning is expanding, there is still limited understanding of how AI integration is perceived at the classroom level, particularly in under-researched contexts such as rural or faith-based schools in Indonesia. This study aims to address this gap by exploring the perceptions of students and teachers at SMP 1 Nurul Basmalah regarding the use of AI in English language instruction. Using a qualitative approach through focus groups and interviews, the findings suggest that AI can save students’ time and offer personalized learning experiences through interactive engagement. However, concerns remain about teacher readiness and the reliance on electronic devices, emphasizing the need for professional development. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of identifying both the strengths and limitations of AI in education, promoting ethical usage, and developing practical strategies to enhance learning outcomes and foster student creativity.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine if using infographics in the eighth grade at SMPN 1 Kota Tangerang Selatan had a significant effect on students' vocabulary mastery. This study employed a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design. A total of 78 students participated in the study; 39 from each of the two classes (the experimental and control) were included in the sample. Each class took a pre-and post-test during the first and last meetings. Independent sample t-tests were run in SPSS version 22 to evaluate the hypothesis. The results showed that using infographics enhanced the vocabulary mastery of eighth-graders at SMPN 1 Kota Tangerang Selatan. The effect size was 0.80, with a significance level of 0.001 for the two-tailed Independent T-test (0.001 < 0.05). That supports the moderate size effect and indicates the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. Thus, using an infographic as a teaching tool provides a significant effect on students' vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

The main issue of this research is the low learning outcomes of students in English language learning, one of the factors behind this problem is the lack of learning innovations used. This research used flashcards as learning media to make students interested in learning English. This research used flashcards as media in learning simple present tense material  This research aimed to find out if there is a significant effect of flashcards on students’ simple present tense writing ability at SDN Rawu. To achieve that aim,  this research used quasi-experimental design. This study involved 64 students as the sample consisting 32 students in the experiment class and 32 students in the control class.  For data collection techniques, a pre-test was given to both classes at the first meeting and then the post-test at the last meeting. The result showed that the students in the experimental class obtained significantly higher scores than the control class. This is proven by the results of Paired Sample T-Test where the sig-2 tailed value was 0.00, while the alpha(a) was 0.05 showing that the sig. value is lower than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05).  This demonstrates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that there is any significant influence of flashcards toward students’ writing abilities at SDN Rawu.
