Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of role-playing-based counseling services in enhancing empathy among children at Juvenile Rehabilitation Center Class I Martapura. Employing a quantitative approach, the research utilized a one-group pre-test post-test experimental design to measure changes in empathy levels before and after the intervention. A total of 32 children participated in the study. Data were collected using two instruments: the Empathy Scale and the Role-Playing Engagement Questionnaire. The intervention consisted of structured role-playing sessions designed to improve both cognitive and affective components of empathy. Data analysis using paired sample t-tests revealed a statistically significant increase in empathy scores, with the mean score rising from 151.53 to 157.34 (p < 0.05). These results suggest that role-playing shows promise as an effective method for enhancing empathy in juvenile rehabilitation settings. The findings underscore the potential of integrating experiential learning strategies into psychosocial interventions for institutionalized youth. Further research is recommended to examine contextual and individual factors that may influence the impact of such interventions.

Abstract

Social media X has become a space for students to interact and express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions relatively freely. This condition may give rise to the Online Disinhibition Effect (ODE), namely the tendency for individuals to exhibit more open, impulsive, or less controlled behavior online than in face-to-face interactions. This phenomenon is important to study among Guidance and Counseling (BK) students, who are required to demonstrate communication ethics, self-control, and professionalism across various interaction contexts. This study aims to analyze the Online Disinhibition Effect on the behavior of Guidance and Counseling students at Lambung Mangkurat University on social media X. This study used a quantitative descriptive method. The research sample consisted of 164 students from the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024, selected via simple random sampling from a population of 279 students. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire compiled from the six aspects of ODE, as outlined by Suler, and divided into benign and toxic disinhibition. The research instrument was deemed valid, comprising 30 statements, and demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.940). Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics. The results showed that students' Online Disinhibition Effect was in the high range, with a tendency toward benign disinhibition over toxic disinhibition. The aspects of solipsistic introjection and dissociative imagination were the most prominent indicators. These findings provide an empirical contribution to the study of BK students' online behavior and have practical implications for the development of Guidance and Counseling education, particularly by strengthening digital literacy, online communication ethics, and the self-regulation of prospective counselors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and map the characteristics of school leadership in wetland environments and to evaluate the prospects for implementing an ecological–social leadership model in Indonesia, particularly in South Kalimantan province. Using a systematic–descriptive literature review, the research synthesized twenty peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2025 that examined school leadership practices in ecologically extreme regions across Asia, Africa, and South America. The data were collected through a structured matrix and analyzed thematically to identify patterns of leadership adaptation in flood-prone and geographically isolated contexts. The results show that effective school leadership in wetland environments requires a multidimensional capacity that integrates transformational, instructional, and sustainable–ecological leadership. Transformational leadership strengthens teacher motivation and collective vision; instructional leadership enhances teaching quality and contextual learning; while sustainable leadership ensures school resilience through ecological awareness and community collaboration. The findings further indicate that leadership effectiveness is influenced by internal factors, such as competence, adaptability, and communication, and external factors, including policy support, organizational culture, and local wisdom. The study concludes that an ecological–social leadership framework, grounded in Banjar cultural values such as gawi sabumi (collective cooperation) and environmental stewardship, provides a viable model for improving educational leadership in wetland-based schools. This integrative model bridges global leadership theory with Indonesia’s socio-ecological realities, contributing to the pursuit of resilient, equitable, and sustainable education. Future research is recommended to validate this framework through empirical studies and policy implementation in other ecologically vulnerable regions.

Abstract

The synergy between school leadership and counseling services is increasingly viewed as central to effective and holistic student support, yet empirical evidence shows substantial variation across educational systems. This study aims to systematically compare global patterns of principal–counselor collaboration and to clarify how leadership models shape collaborative practices and student-related outcomes. Using a systematic literature review design, 67 empirical studies published between 2005 and 2025 were analyzed, comprising Asia (13), Africa (13), the Americas (13), Europe (13), and Australia (15). Data were examined through thematic analysis, enabling cross-continental comparisons of leadership orientation, organizational structure, and collaboration mechanisms. The findings identify five dominant collaboration models: strategic partnerships in the Americas, interdisciplinary teamwork in Europe, integrative–reflective collaboration in Australia, reactive hierarchical relationships in Africa, and normative–subordinative arrangements in Asia. These models reveal clear causal linkages between leadership orientation and student outcomes, particularly psychosocial well-being, preventive intervention capacity, and continuity of academic support. Leadership approaches characterized by shared decision-making, counselor integration into school governance, and data-informed collaboration consistently produce stronger and more sustainable student support systems, whereas hierarchical leadership structures constrain counseling impact and limit preventive effectiveness. This study contributes original value by offering a balanced cross-continental synthesis and an integrative analytical framework that connects leadership models, collaboration processes, and student outcomes. The findings advance comparative scholarship and provide a conceptual basis for developing evaluative tools and evidence-based policies to strengthen collaborative school leadership across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of dark humor on cyberbullying behavior among vocational high school (SMK) students. Using a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression design, it involved 88 SMK students selected via total purposive sampling. Data were gathered using the dark humor scale (Cronbach's α = 0.943) and cyberbullying scale (Cronbach's α = 0.867), both tested for validity and reliability. The hypothesis that dark humor positively affects cyberbullying behavior was confirmed, evidenced by the regression equation Y = 27.121 + 0.520X, correlation coefficient R = 0.661, coefficient of determination R² = 0.473 (47.3% contribution), F-value = 66.691 (Sig. = 0.000), and t-value = 8.166 (p < 0,001). Classical assumptions of normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov Sig. = 0.119) and homoscedasticity were fulfilled. Dark humor significantly and positively influences cyberbullying among SMK students. This research enriches the psychological literature on cyberbullying by highlighting dark humor as a key predictor. The findings support developing school counseling programs to reduce dark humor tendencies and prevent cyberbullying
