Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Two Stay Two Stay (TSTS), Think Pair Share (TPS), and Conventional cooperative learning models in improving students' social skills in human reproduction. This study is quantitative in nature and quasi-experimental in design. The research design is a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was 156 students in grade IX MTsN 3 Padangawas, and the sample in this study was 78 people. Sampling was conducted using cluster random sampling, and the research sample consisted of 3 classes, namely TSTS, TPS, and Conventional classes. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire instrument. Data analysis used the Kruskal Wallis test. The results of the data analysis showed that the Asymp sig value was 0.000, indicating that there was a significant effect between the groups using the TSTS, TPS, and control (conventional learning) models on students' social skills. The mean rank of the TPS group was 51.06, followed by the TSTS group at 48.48, and the Conventional group at 18.96. This indicates that the TPS learning model has the most effective social skills value compared to the TSTS and Conventional groups.

Abstract

Indonesian students' scientific literacy skills from 2000 to 2022 remain low, as their scores are below the average PISA (Philosophy of Science and Technology) completion score. This study aims to analyze high school students' scientific literacy skills in the field of biological technology innovation through authentic assessment. This research is descriptive and quantitative. The study was conducted at SMAN 1 Medan. The population was all 432 tenth-grade students from 12 classes. The sample size was 72 students from two classes: class X1 and class X5. Simple random sampling was used as the sampling technique. Data collection used authentic assessment instruments, consisting of 10 essay questions and a 25-item questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a descriptive percentage formula. The results showed that students' scientific literacy skills were in the adequate category, with a percentage of 57%. A score of 57% reflects that most students have a basic understanding of scientific concepts, but are unable to fully master them or apply them optimally in real-life contexts. Internal factors influencing students' scientific literacy skills are categorized as good, with a percentage of 73%, and external factors are categorized as good, with a percentage of 75%. The research results show that students' scientific literacy skills are generally in the "adequate" category, although influencing factors, such as the availability of facilities and infrastructure, the quality of learning, and the role of teachers, are classified as "good." This indicates an imbalance between the potential of a supportive learning environment and suboptimal student learning outcomes.

Abstract

History learning in schools still tends to focus on the memorization of facts, which limits its ability to foster historical awareness and students’ connection to their surrounding socio-cultural realities. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of innovative history learning based on local wisdom in enhancing students’ historical awareness. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving students and history teachers in secondary schools in South Sulawesi. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, documentation, and student reflections, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and thematic conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of local wisdom into history learning improves students’ historical understanding, encourages active participation in learning, and strengthens students’ emotional connection to history and local cultural identity. Learning becomes more contextual, meaningful, and relevant to students’ lived experiences. This study concludes that local wisdom–based history learning is an effective pedagogical strategy for developing students’ historical awareness, character, and cultural identity, while also enriching history teaching practices in schools.

Abstract

Educational transformation in the modern era demands systemic changes that not only focus on the curriculum or technology but also on the culture that binds all components of the school. This article aims to analyze how schools function as a cultural system in the process of educational transformation. The research method used is a qualitative-descriptive study with a literature review approach on organizational culture theory, educational ecology theory, and educational transformation theory. The sources of data for this study include academic books, articles in national and international journals, as well as policy documents and international reports. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis with stages of data reduction, concept categorization, and interpretative analysis. The study results indicate that schools have a character as cultural systems marked by values, norms, symbols, habits, and social practices that shape the institution's identity. Educational transformation will be effective if changes encompass cultural aspects, including leadership patterns, social relationships, learning practices, and adaptation to technology. This study emphasizes that structural changes without cultural change only result in superficial transformation. The article implies that policymakers and schools need to reorganize the paradigm of change by placing culture as the main foundation of educational transformation

Abstract

General Background: Social media has become a major arena in contemporary political communication by expanding access to information, accelerating message circulation, and enabling direct interaction between political actors and citizens. Specific Background: In the 2024 local election context, this study examines how social media was used in local political communication, particularly through visual content, persuasive narratives, publication of campaign activities, and volunteer community accounts. Knowledge Gap: Although social media is widely used in electoral campaigns, its role in shaping voter interest and participation in a semi-urban local setting with strong communal relations remains insufficiently described. Aims: This study aims to analyze political communication strategies through social media and their relation to voter interest and voter participation in the 2024 local election. Results: The findings show that candidates used attractive visual content, leadership-centered persuasive narratives, vision-mission communication, campaign activity publication, and volunteer accounts to distribute political messages. Social media supported voter interest through easier information access, rapid message dissemination, and emotional closeness between candidates and voters. It also broadened political awareness, encouraged public discussion, motivated engagement in the electoral process, and simultaneously presented risks of disinformation and negative campaigning. Novelty: This study presents a contextual account of digital political communication in a semi-urban local setting where social media operates as a complementary instrument alongside direct social interaction and social legitimacy. Implications: The findings underline that local digital campaign practices should be aligned with social context, political credibility, and community communication patterns. Highlights• Attractive visual content and persuasive narratives expanded candidate visibility in digital political communication.• Easier information access and rapid message circulation increased voter interest during the local election.• Political awareness, public discussion, and electoral engagement grew alongside risks of disinformation. Abstract

This research aims to uncover the meaning of sustainable accounting as experienced and lived by the accountant of the dam construction project within the scope of PT. Nindya Karya. This research uses an interpretive paradigm with Husserl's transcendental phenomenological approach to understand the conscious experience of accountants in interpreting sustainability accounting practices. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with project accountants and analyzed through a phenomenological reduction process that included the identification of noema, noesis, intentionality, and the essential meaning of experience. The results of the study show that sustainability accounting practices in construction projects are not only understood as a formal reporting mechanism, but as a professional practice that functions to maintain the financial order of projects, bridge the reality of construction work with the representation of figures in financial statements, and integrate social and environmental dimensions through the project budgeting system. Accountants interpret sustainability accounting as a professional compass that helps navigate the tension between the demands of project efficiency and responsibility to society and the environment. Integrity, professional responsibility, and moral awareness of development impacts are key values that shape sustainability accounting practices in the experience of project accountants. This research contributes to the development of sustainability accounting literature by presenting a phenomenological perspective that places accountants as reflective actors in negotiating sustainability values in the midst of infrastructure project dynamics.

Abstract

The proliferation of digital communication technologies has fundamentally restructured the paradigm of sports organizations' stakeholder engagement strategies. This quantitative investigation examines the influential mechanisms through which social media platforms affect fan engagement levels toward sports entities. Employing purposive sampling methodology, 80 active sports enthusiasts meeting predetermined criteria participated in structured questionnaire administration. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that social media variables collectively explain 74.2% variance in fan engagement intensity (R2 = 0.742, F = 18.245, p < 0.000). Instagram emerged as the predominant platform demonstrating strongest influence (β = 0.412, p < 0.000), followed by YouTube (β = 0.298, p = 0.001). Content analysis identified match highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, and athlete personal narratives as primary engagement drivers, achieving mean scores exceeding 4.3 on five-point Likert scales. Conversely, commercial- promotional content exhibited negligible impact on engagement metrics. Findings underscore the imperative for sports organizations to architect content ecosystems prioritizing authenticity, emotional resonance, and participatory elements rather than conventional broadcast approaches. This research contributes empirical evidence supporting strategic reorientation of digital communication frameworks toward relationship-centric paradigms in contemporary sports marketing landscapes.

Abstract

This study investigates the development of 21st-century skills (6C) critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, character, and citizenship among tenth grade students of SMA Swasta  PAB  8  Saentis  through  the  implementation of  the Independent Curriculum in the ecosystem topic. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing tests, questionnaires, and classroom observations involving 61 randomly selected students from five classes. The results indicate that critical thinking and creativity skills reached an average score of 44%, categorized as “fair,” whereas communication (88%), collaboration (83%), character (84%), and citizenship (83%) were classified as “very good.” Observation data also revealed that collaboration and creativity skills averaged 70%, falling into the “good” category. These findings suggest that the Independent Curriculum has effectively fostered students’ social and character skills, yet cognitive dimensions such as critical thinking and creativity remain underdeveloped. To address this gap, the study recommends the consistent application of project-based and collaborative learning strategies as  a  means  to  strengthen analytical abilities and enhance students’ creative thinking in a more comprehensive manner.
