Abstract

The situation caused by the pandemic has prompted every company to protect the safety of its employees. The energy/electricity industry cluster continues to operate despite the need for social restrictions in several locations, including the East Java power plant. This study identifies the risks of human activities at power plants throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used quantitative data information gleaned from interviews, observations, and questionnaires. This research a technique that combines Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). Of the 17 activities carried out in the risk analysis using the FMEA method, the activities that show the five locations with the highest RPN scores are the workshop, warehouse, administration building, Coal Handling Control Building [CHCB], and employee training. We will integrate this analysis with the risk analysis that has been prepared previously by the applicable administrative regulations. Human resource risk management is concerned with enhancing productivity among workers by lowering days ignored because of a lack of jobs. The results can serve as recommendations for evaluating COVID-19 risk management and preventive measures in power generation companies.

Abstract

General Background: The rapid advancement of technology has significantly impacted consumer purchasing decisions, particularly in selecting smartphones. Consumers often consider factors like brand image, price perception, and product quality when choosing products. Specific Background: Among the vast range of smartphone options available, iPhone is a prominent choice, but the specific factors driving consumer interest in iPhone products, particularly in Sidoarjo, remain underexplored. Knowledge Gap: While much research has focused on general smartphone buying behavior, limited attention has been given to the specific interplay between price perception, brand image, and product quality in influencing buying interest for iPhones in regional markets like Sidoarjo. Aims: This study aims to examine the impact of price perception, brand image, and product quality on consumer buying interest in iPhone products in Sidoarjo, using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis. Results: From a sample of 110 respondents, the findings reveal that price perception, brand image, and product quality all have a significant positive effect on consumer buying interest. The R-square value of 0.700 suggests that 70% of the variation in buying interest is explained by these three variables. Novelty: This study provides novel insights into the Sidoarjo market, demonstrating that these factors substantially drive iPhone purchase interest, with brand reputation and perceived product quality playing key roles. Implications: The results highlight the importance of enhancing brand image and maintaining high product quality to increase consumer interest, which could inform marketing strategies for smartphone brands targeting regional markets like Sidoarjo. Future studies could explore additional variables influencing buying interest, given that 30% of the variation remains unexplained by the current model.

Abstract

Real-time and accurate risk management data is critical in making informed corporate decision-making. An Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) application enhances data access speed and accuracy, supporting strategic actions. Developed with an integrated risk and technology management approach, this application aids in effective risk management in operational power plants facing complex, high-risk challenges. It offers a structured framework for identifying, assessing, and managing risks, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency, effectiveness, and safety. This research examined the impact of system quality and readiness to change on the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and behavioral  intentions toward ERM applications. Data were gathered from 300 risk management professionals through purposive sampling. Then, the data were analyzed with PLS-SEM using a quantitative survey-based approach. The finding reveals that system quality and readiness to change significantly influence perceived usefulness and ease of use, which subsequently affect behavioral intentions. Interestingly, perceived usefulness does not directly impact behavioral intentions, emphasizing the critical roles of system quality and user readiness in ERM adoption. These finding underscores organizations' need to enhance the technical aspects of ERM applications and implement effective change management strategies to improve user engagement and adoption rates. The originality of this research resides in its integrated approach, merging system quality and readiness to change within the Technology, Acceptance, Model (TAM) framework, offering a deeper understanding of the factors driving ERM application acceptance. This research provides valuable insights for standardized frameworks, financial incentives, and tailored training programs to boost technology adoption.

Abstract

In this 20th century era, the business environment is more demanding that a business organization not only have a profit orientation. However, aspects of the impact on the environment and surrounding communities must also receive adequate attention in line with the increasing quantity and quality of business organizations. The concept of sustainable development is proposed to be a concept that tries to provide a balanced effect between financial performance factors, community welfare factors and environmental sustainability factors. In balancing the three factors above, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities of business organizations are expected to be the answer to the stigma that business organizations are only looking for profit. This paper will describe several hypotheses as well as a conceptual framework of factors originating from internal business organizations that have an impact on the performance of CSR activities. There are four factors that are proposed to be a hypothesis from the internal organization that must be fulfilled so that CSR activities show their performance. The four factors are fulfilment of human resources, fulfilment of the business organization's strategic vision, fulfilment of operating system implementation, and fulfilment of the business organization's financial capability.
