Abstract

Reda Printing is a printing business that still relies on manual recording for raw material inventory and operational transactions. This condition causes various issues, such as stock mismatches, sudden depletion of production materials, and the absence of a structured transaction track record, which ultimately burdens the management that relies heavily on a single administrator. This study presents the design of an integrated relational database system to address these problems. The design was carried out through three main stages: Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) for logical modeling, Conceptual Data Model (CDM) as a conceptual representation, and Physical Data Model (PDM) for technical implementation. This system integrates five core entities—Barang, Supplier, Transaksi_Masuk, Order, and Detail_Order—which are implemented into MySQL. The added value of this design is the application of database-level automation using Triggers and Views, which function to update stock automatically and provide early warnings (smart alerts) when stock reaches its minimum limit. The results of this database design are expected to serve as the foundation for developing a reliable, accurate, and efficient operational information system to support Reda Printing's productivity.

Abstract

The development of digital-based transportation technology demands a fast, accurate, and environmentally friendly data management system, particularly in electric motorcycle rental services. However, the complexity of managing operational data regarding fleets, battery conditions, and payment transactions often triggers risks of data redundancy and slow application performance if not supported by a robust database structure. This study aims to design a structured and efficient database architecture for the Electric Motorcycle Rental Information System. The research method was carried out progressively through data modeling phases, including Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), Conceptual Data Model (CDM), and Physical Data Model (PDM). The results successfully mapped five core system entities: Pelanggan (Customer), Motor_Listrik (Electric Motorcycle), Stasiun (Station), Penyewaan (Rental), and Pembayaran (Payment), which are fully integrated through One-to-Many and One-to-One cardinality rules. The transformation from CDM to PDM generated a production-ready physical database blueprint with specific data types and proper implementation of Primary Key and Foreign Key mechanisms. In conclusion, this database design successfully creates a ready-to-use physical database schema capable of maintaining data integrity and preventing data redundancy to support efficient rental system operations.

Abstract

Purpose: According to Statistics Indonesia (2023), there are around 1.6 million vocational secondary school (SMK) graduates in Indonesia, over 30% of whom come from the Information and Communication Technology field, particularly the Multimedia major. However, more than 40% of them do not proceed to higher education (Tracer Study, Kemendikbud Ristek, 2023), partly due to difficulties in selecting universities that align with their practical skills. This study aims to develop a decision support system that helps Multimedia graduates choose higher education institutions that match their vocational background.Methods/Study design/approach: The study applies the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method, using six evaluation criteria: program accreditation, multimedia facilities, industry partnerships, alumni reputation, tuition fees, and internship opportunities. Data were gathered from official secondary sources such as BAN-PT and PDDikti. The TOPSIS method was then used to rank university alternatives based on weighted criteria.Result/Findings: The highest-scoring alternative obtained a preference score of 0.6968, representing an institution with superior accreditation, strong industry collaboration, and complete multimedia infrastructure. Sensitivity analysis showed consistent rankings for some alternatives, while others shifted depending on changes in criteria weights.Novelty/Originality/Value: This study offers a replicable and adaptable decision support system that enables vocational school graduates to make informed, data-driven decisions in selecting relevant higher education pathways. The framework can be customized for other vocational fields or regional applications, providing practical value for both students and education planners.

Abstract

Purpose: The high use of private vehicles in Jakarta exacerbates traffic congestion, making public transportation a vital alternative, especially for students of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ). However, with numerous options available, many students struggle to select the most suitable mode of transport. This study aims to aid this decision-making process by developing a Decision Support System (DSS) to evaluate and recommend the most optimal public transportation mode. Methods/Study design/approach: This research implements a DSS using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Five transportation modes were analyzed: MRT, KRL, TransJakarta, Jaklingko, and Online Motorcycle Taxi. The evaluation was based on five criteria: cost, speed, comfort, accessibility, and safety. Primary data was collected through questionnaires distributed to students, which were then processed using normalization and weighting based on the perceived importance of each criterion. Result/Findings: The analysis revealed that Online Motorcycle Taxi is the top choice among students (score: 0.859), followed by MRT (score: 0.853) and TransJakarta (score: 0.837). The results indicate that each mode has distinct advantages; for instance, MRT excels in comfort and safety, while Jaklingko is perceived as the most economical option. Novelty/Originality/Value: This study demonstrates that flexibility and accessibility are the primary considerations for students when choosing transportation. The findings provide a useful, structured reference for students to select efficient transport that meets their needs, moving beyond anecdotal decision-making. The research effectively applies the SAW method to offer a practical solution to a common student mobility challenge.

Abstract

Chossing appropriate banking services has become increasingly complex for university students due to the swift expansion of Indonesia's digital financial technology. Previous Decision Support System (DSS) studies in banking, such as those relying on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), exhibit a critical research gap: they predominantly analyze conventional and digital banks in isolation, use restricted criteria, and neglect the student demographic. To address this gap and establish a distinct novelty, this study introduces an integrated DSS model using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Unlike existing AHP-based models that rely heavily on subjective expert judgments, this SAW framework contributes uniquely by combining subjective student preferences with objective institutional metrics, including monthly fees, ATM networks, and branch distributions extracted from official annual reports and corporate websites.  The model evaluates both banking sectors across six dimensions tailored for students at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. Prior to SAW processing, the survey instrument spanning seven faculties was validated via Pearson Correlation and Cronbach's Alpha. The findings reveal that SeaBank achieved the highest preference score (0.878), outperforming BCA (0.794) and BRI (0.786). This demonstrates that while students prioritize administrative cost efficiency and digital agility, security and physical accessibility remain critical. Ultimately, this research advances banking DSS literature by providing a highly objective, student-centric hybrid evaluation system.

Abstract

Every year, new students who move to university cities face difficulties in selecting a boarding house that suits their needs. Existing decision support system (DSS) studies for boarding house selection generally use five criteria: rental price, distance to campus, facilities, security, and cleanliness. This study develops an evaluation model by adding two criteria that have received limited attention in previous research, namely WiFi availability and environmental quietness, which have become increasingly important in the era of hybrid and online learning. The Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method was applied to seven boarding house alternatives located in the Cilobak and Pangkalan Jati areas using seven evaluation criteria. A comparative analysis between the five-criteria and seven-criteria models showed measurable changes in the ranking results. Kos Kramat Belakang UPN (K4) achieved the highest preference value of 0.8639 and ranked first, confirming that the seven-criteria model provides more comprehensive and relevant recommendations for students' accommodation selection.
