Abstract

Tumbuh kembang bayi merupakan hal penting yang harus diperhatikan karena masih dalam periode 1000 hari pertama kehidupan. Tumbuh kembang bayi yang optimal dapat mencegah terjadinya stunting. Namun, terdapat fase kritis bayi beresiko terjadi kekurangan gizi, yaitu pada usia 6-12 bulan. Pada fase ini bayi mulai diajarkan untuk mengkonsumsi makanan secara bertahap. Oleh karena itu pengetahuan tentang bahan pangan dan cara pengolahan Makanan Pendamping ASI (MP-ASI) sangatlah penting untuk diketahui. Pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan mengusung tema MP-ASI dengan memperlihatkan secara langsung bagaimana pengolahan MP-ASI yang bergizi melalui demo masak. Demo dan lomba masak MP-ASI merupakan metode yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan antusias para ibu dalam belajar menghidangkan MP-ASI yang bergizi. Selain itu, buku resep MP-ASI juga disusun dan dibagikan sebagai panduan sehari-hari bagi para ibu atau pengasuh. Buku resep MP-ASI ini menjadi pengingat sekaligus motivasi bagi para Ibu agar selalu memasak MP-ASI yang bergizi untuk bayinya. Dengan demikian, pengabdian masyarakat ini telah berpartisipasi dalam pencegahan stunting di Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Background: Masalah stunting di Indonesia khususnya Sumatra selatan masih terkategori tinggi untuk masalah kesehatan masyarakat. Burai merupakan salah satu desa di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir yang menjadi lokus stunting sehingga perlu mendapatkan perhatian lebih dalam upaya pencegahan dan penanggulangan masalah stunting. Meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu rumah tangga tentang jenis dan porsi pangan sesuai prinsip gizi seimbang. Metode: Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Desa Burai, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir pada ibu-ibu rumahtangga yang berjumlah 35 orang. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dengna menggunakan media powerpoint dan video edukasi. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan pada tingkat pengetahuan peserta dengan menggunakan pre-dan post test. Hasil: Kegiatan penyuluhan berisi tentang penyebab dan dampak masalah gizi stunting, pencegahan stunting melalui konsumsi aneka ragam makanan dengan pendekatan visualisasi tumpeng gizi seimbang dan isi piringku. Hasil evaluasi pre- dan post-test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 6,14 menjadi 6,67. Kesimpulan: Secara umum, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dinilai dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta tentang cara pencegahan stunting dan anjuran porsi makan sehari.

Abstract

Toddlers are one of the vulnerable groups experiencing stunting nutritional problems. Households with good food security can prevent toddlers from nutritional problems such as stunting. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between food security and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Palembang City, especially in the Seberang Ulu 1 area. The cross-sectional study designs with a sample of 200 toddlers aged 6-59 months in Seberang Ulu I District who were taken by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed of bivariate used the Chi-Square Test (crude) and multiple logistic regression analysis was used as a multivariate analysis (adjusted). The incidence of stunting under five occurs more in households with food insecure conditions, high food expenditure, low income and low maternal education. There was a relationship between household food security and the incidence of stunting (p<0.05) and there was no relationship between food expenditure, family income and mother's education with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Seberang Ulu I District (p>0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that toddlers in households in food insecure conditions had a 1.7 times higher risk of experiencing stunting than toddlers in households in food secure conditions after controlling for family income. Food insecurity is a risk factor for stunting in toddlers. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the government provide guidance to increase family income through improving entrepreneurship skills for families in Seberang Ulu 1 to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a nutritional problem caused by insufficient food intake for a long time. Routine exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months and followed by the provision of nutritious weaning foods is one of the efforts to prevent stunting. Purpose: community service activities are to provide knowledge about the risk factors and causes of stunting, provide knowledge about the potential of tempeh as a potential food to prevent stunting, provide knowledge and skills on how to make weaning food. Method: this activity is a collaboration between TJSL PT KILANG PERTAMINA INTERNATIONAL RU III and the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University. Participants consisted of cadres and mothers of toddlers at Melati Deswita Plaju integrated health care. The activities carried out were counseling on preventing stunting, counseling on potential food tempeh preventing stunting, story telling, let's eat tempeh. Result: as many as 85% of respondents have good knowledge after being given counseling related to stunting. Conclusion: there is an increase in knowledge where the percentage of respondents who have a good category increases after the extension activities are carried out.   Keywords: stunting, tempeh, toddlers, weaning foods, integrated health care

Abstract

Latar Belakang: stunting merupakan salah satu permasalahan gizi yang dihadapi oleh negaraberkembang, termasuk Indonesia. Angka kejadian stunting di pedesaan lebih tinggi dibandingkanperkotaan. Rendahnya pendapatan orang tua di pedesaan berpengaruh terhadap asupan gizi anakdan berdampak terhadap kejadian  sunting. Salah satu desa dengan angka kejadian stunting cukuptinggi adalah desa Lubuk Rumbai  yang terletak di Kecamatan Tuah Negeri.  Di desa LubukRumbai banyak terdapat daun kelor yang ditanam oleh penduduk setempat. Pemanfaatan daunkelor sebagai bahan pangan fungsional belum banyak  diketahui oleh masyarakat, selama ini daunkelor hanya dimanfaatkan sebagai sayuran. Daun kelor mengandung kalsium, zat besi, protein,vitamin A, vitamin B dan vitamin C yang penting untuk pertumbuhan anak.  Kegiatanpengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih ibu  dalam memanfaatkan daun kelor sebagaiminuman siap saji, yaitu teh daun kelor untuk pencegahan stunting. Metode: Kegitan pengabdian masyarakat diadakan di Desa Lubuk Rumbai Kecamatan Tuah Negeri,dengan kelompok sasaran ibu yang mempunyai anak balita.  Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupapendidikan kesehatan  tentang pencegahan stunting dan peragaan pembuatan minuman teh daunkelor. Sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan, dilakukan evaluasi terhadappengetahuan ibu tentang pencegahan stunting.  Hasil: hasil evaluasi pengetahuan didapatkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan ibu dalampencegahan stunting setelah diberi pendidikan kesehatan. Peragaan pembuatan teh daun kelor diikuti dengan baik oleh ibu, setelah selesai peragaan ibu mmpu melakukan simulasi pembutan tehdaun kelor. Kesimpulan: terjadi  peningkatan pengetahuan ibu dalam memanfaatkan bahan lokal yaitu daunkelor  sebagai pangan fungsional untuk mencegah stunting pada anak.Kata Kunci:  pencegahan stunting, stunting, teh daun kelor.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease (NCD) and becomes health problem often found among employees. Somebody who spent time in the office for approximately eight hours in five working days, did not do regular exercise due to no time to exercise and ate foods that were not in accordance with the guidelines for balanced nutrition so that it leads to the risk of hypertension. The problem-solving framework used in this activity was to provide education related to the management and precaution of hypertension through the introduction of a DASH diet with the used of pocket books and online Whatsapp group media for employees at Sriwijaya University. In general, education and introduction to the DASH diet were considered quite successful. As many as 30 participants involved but 24 fulled fill the pretest and only 20 finished post -test. This community service activity was expected that the community will be able to recognize and apply the concept of the DASH diet that can control and prevent hypertension.

Abstract

Anemia has adverse health effects on pregnant women and their fetuses. Anemia during pregnancy will be at risk of giving birth to children with anemia leading to an increased risk of stunted children. EMO DEMO is a form of nutrition education with a simple delivery method developed by GAINing. (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition). This community service aims to determine anemia in pregnant women and introduce EMO DEMO nutrition education to 30 pregnant women and 5 Posyandu cadres. The EMO DEMO material used food source high in iron named ATIKA (heart, fish, chicken). The activity was carried out in July 2022 in the village of Burai (Ogan Ilir) as stunting locus. The results of measuring hemoglobin levels found that as many as 8 pregnant women (26,7%) had anemia. Pregnant women and cadres found it easy to remember food ingredients that were good sources of iron during pregnancy. After participating in this EMO DEMO, it was expected participants could consume foods high in iron to prevent anemia during pregnancy. Furthermore, cadres could use the EMO DEMO method to conduct nutrition education for other pregnant women.

Abstract

Every workplace contains various potential hazards that can affect the health of workers, one of them is dust exposure. One of the dust exposures occurs in the working environment of the sand mine. Palembang City is an area flowed by the Musi River which is a place for sand mining in Palembang. This sand mining activity can pose a risk of exposure to dust such as PM10 and TSP. The purpose of this study was to analyze the environmental health risks due to dust exposure on sand collectors in Palembang. The EHRA method was used to take air samples at 19 measurement points to determine PM10 and TSP levels in the work area. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with 74 respondents. The results showed that there were 2 points at risk due to PM10 exposure with the RQ value at Depot 1 of 5.4 and Depot 2 of 2.7. Meanwhile, TSP levels do not pose a health risk to sand collectors in Palembang with an RQ value ≤ 1. So risk management is needed by reducing the PM10 concentration to a safe limit of 1.81 mg / m³.
