Abstract

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to analyze the optimization of waste utilization as a source of sustainable economic value from an Islamic economic perspective. This study was conducted on the community of Puri Hutama Housing in East Bekasi who face problems of low awareness of waste sorting, suboptimal waste bank management, and limitations in the development of recycling-based businesses. The method of implementing the activity included a needs survey, module preparation, face-to-face training and counseling, interactive discussions, and evaluation through questionnaires of 25 respondents. The results showed a significant increase in people's understanding and motivation, with 96% of respondents stating that the material was easy to understand and 92% realizing the importance of environmental management from an Islamic perspective. From an Islamic economic perspective, the use of waste is not only economically valuable but also reflects the implementation of the principles of sharia maqashid, especially in protecting the environment (hifdz al-bi'ah) and community welfare (maslahah). Therefore, community-based waste management can be a model of sustainable economic empowerment that is integrative between economic, social, and spiritual aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the use of digital currency systems by waqf institutions on public trust and its impact on waqf intentions. This thinking is based on the premise that public trust in waqf institutions can be strengthened through the application of technology that facilitates transactions and information access, thus strengthening public intentions to make waqf. It is necessary to examine whether digital currency systems significantly influence public trust in waqf programs and impact waqf intentions. This research methodology is quantitative explanatory, with primary data from questionnaires from respondents from various provinces in Indonesia and secondary data from relevant literature studies. The analysis was conducted to evaluate the relationship between the use of digital currency systems and public trust and to identify factors that influence public intentions to make waqf. The results of SEM-PLS testing at the pilot study level with 52 respondents from various cities in Indonesia indicate that digital currency systems, particularly accessibility (ease of use) and system security, influence public trust. The ease and security factors also directly influence waqf intentions. Trust also plays a role in increasing waqf intentions, both as a mediator and as a reinforcement of waqf intentions due to digital system factors. This research can enrich the digital waqf literature, contribute to the development of a sharia-compliant digital currency system, serve as a reference for waqf institutions in implementing a digital currency system, and encourage community participation in waqf. Abstract

The Ameroro Dam in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, was constructed to improve irrigation systems, control floods, and support agricultural productivity. This study uses qualitative content analysis based on secondary data including statistical reports, development planning documents, and environmental impact assessments from 2018–2023. The dam successfully provides irrigation for 3,363 hectares of farmland, leading to a 20% increase in rice productivity and a similar increase in farmers’ incomes. However, 375.86 hectares of forest were flooded, and 50 families were relocated, leading to socio-environmental challenges. While the dam enhances agricultural output and mitigates flood risks, issues such as loss of biodiversity and inadequate community involvement demand further policy attention. The Ameroro Dam policy yields positive agricultural and economic outcomes, but future development must integrate inclusive planning and ecological rehabilitation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of public welfare, measured by the Human Development Index (HDI), in Central Sulawesi Province. The data used are secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Ministry of Finance for the period 2017-2023. The study analyzes the impact of the open unemployment rate, population size, government capital expenditure, poverty rate, and inflation on the HDI using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) panel data regression method. The relationship among these variables is conceptually supported by Human Capital Theory, Keynesian Consumption Theory, and Endogenous Growth Theory, which explain how unemployment, inflation, and investment affect development outcomes. The results show that the open unemployment rate, poverty rate, and inflation have a significant negative effect on the HDI. On the other hand, population size and government capital expenditure have a positive but insignificant effect on the HDI. These findings confirm existing research while also offering context-specific insights: the ineffectiveness of capital expenditure indicates suboptimal policy implementation in improving education, health, and infrastructure outcomes related to HDI.

Abstract

The melinjo chip industry in Pandeglang produces peel waste with limited economic value, while the partner group still faces limited product diversification, simple packaging, weak branding, and low digital marketing use. This community service program aimed to empower the Hijau Berkilau MSME group through eco-innovation by processing melinjo peel into a food-paste prototype based on circular economy principles. The program applied a participatory PPEPP approach covering planning, implementation, evaluation, control, and improvement. Sixteen participants joined the activity and completed the post-activity questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively using a five-point Likert scale and thematic review. Results showed that each evaluation aspect obtained a mean score of 4.38 out of 5.00, equal to 87.5%, in the good and very good categories. The outputs included a melinjo peel paste prototype, eco-friendly packaging, product branding, protective baskets, and Instagram-based promotion.

Abstract

Dodol D'Tungku, a traditional food MSME in Bojonggede, Bogor, uses wood-fired stoves that generate combustion emissions and expose workers to smoke. This community service program aimed to improve production conditions and partner capacity through an IoT-based emission filtration system, Occupational Health and Safety training, green branding, and Sustainable Business Model Canvas (SBMC) assistance. Using a Participatory Action Research approach, activities included baseline assessment, hazard mapping, technology installation, training, and evaluation with pre-tests, post-tests, and satisfaction surveys involving 14 participants. Operational measurements indicated reductions of 55.7% in PM2.5 and 55.1% in CO after filtration. Knowledge scores increased from 39% to 90% for IoT filtration and OHS, 41% to 90% for green branding, and 27% to 86% for SBMC. The program strengthened participants’ knowledge and supported cleaner production and sustainable business planning.
