Abstract

Background: Hospitals are required to provide fast, accurate, and high-quality healthcare services to improve patient satisfaction and maintain organizational competitiveness. Human resource (HR) performance plays a crucial role because healthcare workers directly interact with patients during service delivery. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of service intensity and hospital revenue on patient volume as an indicator of HR performance in a private hospital in Gresik. Methods: A quantitative descriptive approach was used with secondary data from the hospital information system, including patient service records, physician services, transaction values, hospital revenue, and service units. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression, R², t-test, and F-test. Results: Service intensity showed a positive and significant effect on patient volume, with a correlation coefficient of 0.530 (p = 0.001) and regression coefficient of 0.460 (p = 0.041), indicating that higher service intensity increases patient volume. Hospital revenue showed a positive correlation with patient volume (r = 0.412; p = 0.011), but regression results indicated no significant effect (β = 0.394; p = 0.633). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced patient volume (F = 5.624; p = 0.009), with R² = 0.287. Conclusion: Service intensity is the dominant factor affecting patient volume and serves as an important indicator for HR performance improvement. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigates the effects of information system–based Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and organizational culture on hospital service quality, with human resource (HR) competency development positioned as a mediating variable. An explanatory quantitative design was employed by distributing five-point Likert questionnaires to 110 employees at a regional public hospital, and the data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. The findings show that organizational culture positively influences HR competence (β = 0.270; p 0.05) but does not directly affect service quality (β = 0.016; p 0.05). In contrast, HR competence has a strong positive effect on service quality (β = 0.640; p 0.001). System-based TNA significantly improves HR competence (β = 0.530; p 0.01) and service quality (β = 0.235; p 0.05). Mediation testing confirms that HR competence significantly mediates the effect of TNA on service quality (β = 0.339; p 0.001), whereas it does not mediate the relationship between organizational culture and service quality. Overall, strengthening system-based TNA alongside structured competency development is essential to improve hospital service quality, while cultural transformation remains necessary to better facilitate competency development. Keywords: Competency Development, Hospital Service Quality, Organizational   Culture, Training Needs Analysis.

Abstract

When making decisions about disease screening, prevention, and treatment, seeking health information is essential. Access to and methods of obtaining health information are impacted by digital transformation, including in the orthopedics sector. This study aimed to determine the sources of information used by patients at Surabaya Islamic Hospital (RSI) and how patients choose media related to orthopedic services. This study is a quantitative, descriptive, observational study involving 102 respondents and conducted in June 2024. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire covering 25 questions about treatment choices, media exposure, media satisfaction, and social demographics, which will later be analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS. In this study, most respondents (279 vs. 228) sought orthopedic information through contemporary media. The most common sources of conventional and contemporary media were Instagram (47,1%) and family (55,9%), respectively. Conventional media accounted for the longest media usage duration (≤ 1 hour per day; 69,7% vs 62,0%). Conventional media were used more frequently (76,8% vs 74,2%) - two to four times a day. Conventional media use was more frequent among respondents (57,9% vs 50,9%). Conventional media were found to be more satisfactory in terms of education, ease of interaction, and information search. In conclusion, Contemporary media offers higher satisfaction levels when seeking orthopedic information, despite conventional media being used more frequently. Abstract

The target of reducing the stunting prevalence rate by 14% in 2024 which has been set by the government needs to be of concern to be implemented by the local health office. The purpose of the research is to cluster toddler anthropometry data with data mining algorithm. Optimize K-Means (KM) algorithm with elbow method use to cluster toddler anthropometry data (sex, height, weight, age, and health care center). A set of 580 children's anthropometric measurements were analyzed and categorized based on their similarity. Cluster 1 comprises 150 members and exhibits a narrower range of age and height values compared to the other clusters. Cluster 2, with 124 members, displays a broader range of age and height values compared to both Cluster 1 and Cluster 3. Cluster 3, consisting of 150 members, demonstrates age and height values that are higher than Cluster 1 but lower than Cluster 2 and Cluster 4. Finally, Cluster 4, encompassing 156 members, exhibits age and height values that are higher than those in the other clusters that many children are stunted based on standard anthropometric table for assessing children's nutritional status. The cluster optimization yielded four distinct clusters, which will serve as the input for identifying clusters during the data grouping process using the KM algorithm.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Health diplomacy has become a crucial element in global governance, serving not only to improve national health capacities but also as an instrument of soft power for donor countries. Within this framework, the European Union (EU) actively engages in international health initiatives, positioning itself as both a normative power and a key global health actor. Indonesia, as a strategic partner in Southeast Asia, provides a compelling case to examine how external health diplomacy influences domestic political dynamics. This study aims to analyze the role of the European Union (EU) in health diplomacy in Indonesia and to assess its implications for domestic political stability. The research seeks to understand how EU-led health cooperation contributes to strengthening Indonesia’s health system and the legitimacy of its government in the public domain. Using a qualitative research design with a case study approach, this study examines policy documents, official EU communications, Indonesian Ministry of Health reports, and WHO publications. The analysis focuses on identifying the forms of EU support, the key actors involved, the mechanisms of implementation, and the political effects arising from such collaborations. The findings reveal that the EU’s health diplomacy in Indonesia encompasses financial assistance, technical cooperation, joint research programs, and vaccine distribution. These initiatives collectively enhance Indonesia’s health system capacity while reinforcing public trust and governmental legitimacy. Furthermore, health diplomacy operates as a soft power tool for the EU, strengthening its normative and humanitarian image in the global order. This study concludes that the EU’s health diplomacy plays a dual role: it contributes to domestic stability in Indonesia through capacity building and simultaneously projects the EU’s identity as a normative global actor. The research highlights the need for transparent, adaptive, and sustainable international health collaborations. It also encourages comparative analysis with other global actors such as China, the United States, and ASEAN to better understand variations in health diplomacy strategies and their political outcomes. Keywords: Health Diplomacy, European Union, Indonesia, Soft Power, Political Stability, Global Health Governance.
