Abstract

Malnutrition or stunting is a form of chronic malnutrition that occurs as a result of long-term nutritional deficiency. This condition generally arises when children receive inadequate nutrition in terms of both quantity and quality, thereby failing to meet their nutritional needs in accordance with their stage of growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors and the nutritional status of toddlers. This study used a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted in the working area of the Srandakan Community Health Center in February 2024. The population consisted of all families with toddlers. The sample consisted of 95 respondents. Simple random sampling was used as the sampling technique. The research instrument was a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed a relationship between clean and healthy living behaviors (p value: 0.043) and the nutritional status of toddlers. It is recommended that the Community Health Center improve the sources of information for mothers of toddlers about the nutritional status of children and the contributing factors by conducting regular health education and distributing leaflets or putting up posters. Keywords: Toddlers, Dietary Patterns, Nutritional Status

Abstract

Stroke remains one of the world’s leading health problems because it imposes a significant burden in terms of morbidity, disability, and mortality. Stroke is the leading cause of disability and the third leading cause of death after coronary heart disease and cancer. The general objective of this study is to analyze stroke risk factors in hospitalized patients of working age. The study design used in this research is a case-control study. The study was conducted at Dr. Drs. M. Hatta Brain Hospital in Bukittinggi. The study was conducted in April 2025. The study sample consisted of 40 case subjects and 40 control subjects. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed an association between hypertension (p-value: 0.013) and stress (p-value: 0.047). It is recommended that respondents undergo regular health checkups, particularly for blood pressure, and practice effective stress management. Keywords: High Blood Pressure, Stress, Stroke.

Abstract

Women's empowerment is an important agenda in inclusive development that positions women as both subjects and actors of development. This study aims to analyze the implementation of gender responsive governance in women's empowerment programs in Surabaya City, identify factors that support and hinder its implementation, and examine its contribution to increasing women's capacity and independence. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population and Family Planning (DP3APPKB), sub-district and village governments, women's organizations, and empowerment program participants. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the principles of Gender Responsive Governance, including participation, responsiveness, inclusivity, accountability, and collaboration, have been integrated into various women's empowerment programs in Surabaya City. Program implementation is supported by local government commitment, policy support, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, but still faces obstacles such as low gender literacy, limited human resource capacity, and social and cultural barriers. The study also found that women's empowerment programs contribute to increased capacity, economic independence, social participation, and self-confidence for women. These findings underscore the importance of gender-responsive governance as an instrument for achieving more inclusive, participatory, and equitable development.
